  1. I worked for FedEx in the hub for a while and saw a lot of stuff. I never once saw intentional damage caused to any item. However, time constraints mean that safe handling is often overlooked and things that say fragile are not treated as such and things fall. In this case, it is very easy to believe that the case was loaded carelessly onto the cart and fell off. That is a very common happening.
  2. You can get to most of it without having to take the whole thing apart. But I don't know if you can get to it enough to get it driving. I honestly just didnt try it. However, you can try removing the rubber insert to the right of the shifter and sticking your hand through the hole there. There is a little tab that you can push in. That is supposed to disengage the lock and let you shift. I was unsuccessful when I tried this but I was planning to take everything apart anyways so I may not have pushed hard enough.

The Service Grades are far and away the best deal going in firearms right now. I got mine a couple of months ago and it was beautiful. Great shape and right at a month wait time. Unfortunately, they haven't had much in the stores lately worth looking at. I highly recommend mail ordering a Service grade. However, if you are set on driving down and back, then you have no legal problems.
  4. Yep. The lever that you push is on the side of the top of the shifter assembly. You can see it in pictures 1 & 3 above. The problem is, that button won't always work when it gets to this point. I tried that first and it didn't work.
  5. I didn't take any last night when I was doing this so I have to refer to the pics that I used. Taking the shifter out of the car is pretty straight-forward. You will need a knife or flat head screwdriver, 10mm socket with at least a 6 inch extension and an 8mm socket. Once out, you can see in this picture the little pink arm and you can see where the hook broke off. Here is a picture of the hook and the spring. This picture is of the shifter assembly taken apart. You can see a hole in the front of the box where a tab goes through. There is the one on the front and one on each side. These pictures highlight the problem part. I fixed the one I looked at in a manner similar to this as a temporary solution. And here is a picture of the plastic thingy back in place.
  6. If you ever have this problem, hit me up. I can save you a lot of money.
  7. If so, you might one day find that you are unable to shift out of park. If this happens to you, it is because the mechanism to keep the shifter from moving when the key is out of the ignition is broken. The mechanism is a little pink plastic arm with a hook on it. A spring connects to the shifter housing a the hook. The spring is stronger than the plastic and will eventually break it off. There are a couple of ways to deal with it. The first is to modify the broken arm by drilling a hole in it and putting a cotter pin through or some sort of wire. Bailing wire, floral wire, aircraft wire are just a few options. The second way is to buy a new shifter assembly from Chrysler. They do not sell the plastic piece by itself. This is not a recommended fix simply because the new shifter will still have the plastic arm and it will eventually break again. The third and best way is to find an aftermarket manufacturer that makes replacements from billet aluminum. They are much cheaper than a new shifter assembly and will outlast the plastics. "How do I know all of this?" you might ask. Well, yesterday, a coworker's friend called her explaining that she was stuck at home and she asked if I could help. I said sure and did a little research. After work, I went over and took a look. Sure enough, it was the broken plastic hook thingy (technical term). I rigged hers up using floral wire and it will keep her on the road until the replacement aluminum piece arrives in a few days. If anyone does have one of these cars and needs more details, feel free to ask. I am only posting this because I know that they are extremely popular cars and from my research, this is an extremely common problem. Happy motoring!
  8. empty.
  9. When I was young, I could say the same thing. After tens of thousands of rounds however, an 11 dollar part is hardly what I could call fancy. I could have probably stuck a stocker back in it and ran it for another 20,000 rounds.
  10. <--- sad because he will never be able to fly.
  11. Or you just modify your guns to fit the cheap ammo. A VQ extractor and I can run anything in my 10/22 and Ruger Standard.
  12. They would if they were actively trying to spread the message. But as far as I'm concerned, you waive your rights to anal virginity, cable television, and humane treatment as a whole if you commit a violent act against another human being. I will never feel sorry for a criminal who gets treated poorly. Yes I take an extremist view regarding this but I know that I am not alone. There are other people that would say the same thing. Regarding the humor aspect, I have to say that being able to make light of situations and create laughter helps people deal with things. Some people can only deal with things this way. Personally, I deal with life through jokes. My dad passed away and I had the entire church at his funeral rolling in laughter. Noone came up to me after the fact and lectured me on the seriousness of the situation or anything like that. Everyone knew that was a way of coping and it helps other people too. Making jokes about something doesn't necessarily say anything negative about our society but instead says that we, as a people, have the ability to make light of serious things to help us deal with situations. On a side note, I think my stomach just ate itself out of hunger and I'm having an asthma attack. Asthma is serious business!
  13. Wheres the pics? Couple of options. (413) 642-4260 for Historical Information OR Mr. John T. Callahan, Savage Arms Historian 53 Old Quarry Road Westfield, MA 01085 $20.00 per gun research fee. Send serial number, allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Sorry, thats all that I could dig up in a quick search.
  14. I got my numbers from several online resources. My XDsc is in Florida and I don't have a Glock to weigh.
  15. Perhaps you should start the movement to end prison rape/prison rape jokes. It is clearly something that you are passionate about.
  16. I hate hippies! Just kidding. I love laughing at them. But that guy's refusal to wear shoes bothers me.
  17. They are expensive but they are the ONLY shop that I will let touch my vehicles. Christian Brother's Automotive on Summer at Whitten.
  18. I built mine to basic carbine specs. As I upgrade, I keep all of the parts around just in case. I do the same with car parts. When I get rid of the gun, or the car, I can just add all the parts to it and see if it brings me a few more bucks. If not, no big deal or I can part out if I want. I also change my mind alot. So keeping things makes it easier to change stuff around.
  19. Where do you people come up with this stuff? An XD9sc weighs in at 20.5 ounces. A G26 is 19.75 ounces. If you can tell the difference in three quarters of an ounce, then you might be a human scale. I have been into cars for a long time and this is the same as people that put an exhaust on their car (that maybe gave them an additional 3 hp) and say that they can "feel" the difference. I'm sorry but I refuse to believe that anyone can tell that insignificant of a weight difference. Sorry to come across like an ass.
  20. You and me both!
  21. You guys are really that afraid of snakes? Sad!
  22. First, I have to get two things out of the way. 1. Is he really wearing makeup? What a fairy! 2. Ed Norton is a much better white supremacist. (Great movie!) Now, on to your statements. I don't believe that anyone is making a case that people deserve to be raped (although I think rapists deserved to be raped with a salty razor blade filled tree trunk.). I think that we all know that butt rape is common in prison. We also know that if you break laws, you go to prison. Therefore, through the transitive property, if you break laws, you get butt raped. Is it a sad fact of society? Yes. Does it make me sad that a violent criminal is giving rides on the hershey highway? Nope. He waived his right for me to care about him and his well being when he committed whatever crime landed him in prison.
  23. Come on down. I've got family in Savannah (and Ramer, Eastview, Michie and just about everywhere else around there). My family reunion is this weekend in Eastview. It's not that bad of a drive and I know you'll enjoy yourself.
  24. More than you can afford pal, Fuch's. (fans of Fast & Furious will get it)
  25. RB Precision Evolution gen 2 gets my vote. Evolution Stock System generation Two
