  1. As long as you cannot easily attach a buttstock to the extension, its fine. not taboo and not illegal. By the way, this probably belongs somewhere other than the classifieds.
  2. Nice. I've always been intrigued by these.
  3. Its my understanding that slides are interchangeable between the guns so you could always just look for a new top end. it might be a little more expensive but would require far less work.
  4. And some of us, only commented on the fact that the AR shotgun of the year is being recalled in the very same magazine that gave the award.
  5. I got to see the dealer cost on these last week and 595 is right about where I expected them to be. I figured at a gun shop that you have a good reputation with, getting out the door for around 650 would be very possible. I can't wait to get mine.
  6. I believe that you will also notice that AR gave shotgun of the year to the Remington versa-max. Keep flipping through the pages and you will find a quarter page recall notice for the versa-max. Pretty much negates any credibility the awards had. And in my time in the lgs, I've seen at least three Taurus semis come in and be traded off for function issues. One tcp and two 709s.
  7. Just use the "attach" feature built into the forum.
  8. Close. 39 oz. 1 ounce more than a Kimber Custom II
  9. I like the Range Officer but if you can wait a little while, I would. Everyone I've talked to says that Ruger is planning to release a full series of 1911s so I'm sure that there will be some all black guns offered.
  10. Also, when shooting, after every 4th mag or so, grab your tool and just give it a quick twist. It will help to break things up while they are still hot to keep it from seizing up.
  11. Assuming that you could secure enough orders, you could go directly to a distributor about setting a special price for a group buy. I honestly don't think you will have much luck though. The gun is going to be hard to get for the first 6 months of its release. Because of that, distributors, are going to be sending out guns either on a first come, first served or favorable nations basis. Thats going to leave a lot of dealers waiting on stock.
  12. You would have to get with a gun shop.
  13. Mine is completely stripped. I am going to be refinishing mine but I have other projects going. It currently looks like this.
  14. Would you be willing to meet in a central location?
  15. Too late. There are already several polymer 1911s on the market.
  16. It's all metal. The black just makes it look plastic. I haven't decided if I like the black or not.
  17. Just watched the DRTV review and Mr. Bane said that Ruger is thinking about commander and officer sized models as well a lightweight aluminum frame in the future.
  18. Jeff Quinn says that Ruger told him we would see more variations down the road.
  19. Oh man this is fantastic! No billboard on it. 70 series design. Internal extractor. Novak sights. Left side only safety. Oversized ejection port and mag release. The LCI is just a visual deal cut into the barrel like the Springers. Comes with a 7 round and an 8 round mag as well as a bushing wrench and a soft case. I love this! Adjustable trigger. Its like a springer loaded from what I can tell except this one is closer to what I want since it has the single sided safety. CRAP! Just found the billboard. Its on the bottom of the frame where a rail would be on a springer operator. Doesn't bother me much but I know a lot of people will complain about it. I actually love the roll marks on both sides of the slide. Jeff Quinn already has his review up! Ruger SR1911 45 ACP Semi-Auto Pistol
  20. Call aim and talk to them. They recently replaced a rifle that split so I'm sure they will be helpful.
  21. Of course Ruger is going to deny. Michael Bane however has posted a few things that lend a little credence to the leaked pics. We will see though. And of course it won't be a Kimber. it will work out of the box and cost less.
  22. I think its funny that people are saying Ruger is late to the game but everyone was jumping for joy when Remington announced their 1911.
  23. I didn't get to shoot the M14 but it was awesome. I'll have plenty of 308 next go round!
  24. Sometimes deep in the woods! haha
