  1. I see two different problems here. First, is whether or not the rule makes sense. Second is punishment. I'm not arguing that the rule was correct. I am only saying that if the school has a policy and then go back on that policy because of social media, then it sets a bad precedent. If the kid knew the rule, and knew the punishment, then the school did nothing wrong. If the kid thought that the rule was wrong, he should have spoken out in a different manner. I believe that if you break the rules, whether you agree with them or not, you deserve whatever the usual course of punishment is. A good example is the speed limit in Bartlett. Stage Road goes through Bartlett. It is a 5 lane highway and has a 45 mph speed on either side of Bartlett. But the Bartlett part is 40 mph. I think Bartlett does it for monetary reasons. But I don't protest that by speeding through. I do the speed limit.

  3. I'm sorry. I think the original decision was the right one. The kid broke the rules. Lay down the law. Its cut and dry. This just sets a bad precedent.
  4. Honestly, you can't hardly go wrong with any bbq place in Memphis. I've never been to one I regretted. I love Memphis. I'm one of the stay and try and make things better camp. Unfortunately, there aren't enough us but there are a few. If acreage is what you seek, and I don't blame you, then I would suggest Tipton County. Fayette is closer to better parts of Memphis but the prices out there are inflated compared to the same type of land/home in Tipton.
  5. He still has it. He has been posting all of this on one of my silencer forums. He posted pics of both and the pic above is his avatar over there. He says that he bought this one to "save it" for the guy that had to sell it.

    EXCAM PPS 50 VALUE

It likely won't make much difference in the price. And I think Excam was just an importer and not the actual manufacturer.

    EXCAM PPS 50 VALUE

This is a start. I've seen your pictures. Yours looks in good shape but the box and papers are probably important as well. Guns For Sale - Rifles For Sale - TOMMY PPS/50 chrome drum fed rifle 22lr with box - Auction: 7470428 (Ended 06/24/2006, 11:15:03 PST)
  8. I agree with this. And it seems that the Winchester Ranger is the best deal going in HP right now.
  9. I'm currently carrying some Hornady critical defense. Just look around and see what is available in your area.
  10. If they were gonna use a 22, it would have been this one.
  11. I've heard from a very trusted source that it was a Hi-Point C9.
  12. Well I got out of it exactly what I wanted. I got to see the process step by step. Now I have a much better idea of what people are talking about when I read these threads. I also understand better what I need to get started.
  13. The problem with that is that the CMP isn't putting out very many field and service grade rifles anymore. Just a few a week. What do you want from your M1? If you just want a really nice rifle that you can shoot for the rest of eternity, and you don't care if the rifle has history, order a special or service special.
  14. Either the guide rod or the takedown thingamajigger (don't know whats it called on a block) is definitely the problem. Can you install one piece without the other?
  15. Yeah but shoulder fire really hinders the fine art of cigar smoking.

What shop was it? I'm always curious about what shops will take my C&R
  17. You should be practicing center of mass shots instead of head shots.
  18. From what I have been reading on ARFCOM, the old mags worked great but cracked. The new mags are built better but have feed issues. YMMV and I hope it does.
  19. Just found out that bass pro is going to be doing some seminars this weekend. I'm going to attend so that I can finally see first hand what is involved. I'll likely pick up a kit afterwards as well.

    But which 1911 ????

Yeah what I read mentioned that about optics but I don't know anyone that uses optics on their daily carry 1911. And I don't think any sub 800 dollar 1911 is a race gun.
  21. too small how? Which model XD was it? There are three sizes of XD, subcompact, service and tactical.

    But which 1911 ????

I hear this mentioned alot and recently read something that interested me. I can't cite it because I don't remember where I read it but something I was reading said that slide to frame fit really isn't that important in a 1911. Because all of the components that affect accuracy are in the top half of the gun, the slide to frame fit really only contributes to reliability. And by that, if they fit is too tight, the gun jams. If the fit is ridiculously loose then it would affect accuracy but the slide to frame isn't the important fit on a 1911. The fit of the barrel, bushing and locking lugs are the major players. It all made sense to me so I took it to at least be partially factual.

    But which 1911 ????

I have a standing order that whenever Ruger releases something new, I have dibs on the first one. I ended up passing on the LC9. I just can't like the trigger when dry firing. I seriously doubt there will be something that I dislike about the 1911 though.
