  1. If you are going irons only, then why flip ups?
  2. My scope came in today.
  3. Rough Texture Frame. Basically, a way to destroy your holster or body.
  4. TacSol, CMMG, Model1, and ATI are the only ones that I know of making dedicated uppers. There are probably a few more but those are definitely the most common. I chose the CMMG based on previous product experience (and having dealt with their customer service) and the fact that I have a bolt hold open and a forward assist. I also don't think any of the others offer an 18 in barrel. To my knowledge, all of the ones listed above only make 16 inch uppers except CMMG which has them in 18 and 20 inch flavors as well.
  5. Lived here for 28 years and never been mugged, raped, murdered, assaulted, etc. I guess I'm the exception that proves the rule. Oh, and those 28 years were spent in Frayser and Raleigh as a white nerd. Those from Memphis will understand that statement.
  6. Yeah the stock is great. I've always been into 22s. I love cheap 22s. They just are cool to me. Plus, with most of my 22s, I can own 5 or 6 for the price of one 9mm or 308. That means I can take more people shooting with me and get more people involved in my sport.
  7. Yep. Find someone with a ups account and ship it that way. It can still be done legally for around 15-25 bucks.
  8. So is anyone else out there dumb enough to build or buy one these things? And I'm not talking about the HK416 or M&P15-22. I'm only talking about real AR's with a dedicated upper. Here is mine. Surplus Ammo & Arms stripped lower Palmetto State Armory LPK Bill Springfield Trigger job Magpul MIAD OD Green Magpul PRS OD Green Brownells A1 receiver extension CMMG 18 LEP upper with stainless steel upgrade, forward assist upgrade, bolt hold open upgrade, and stainless collar I'm still waiting on a few parts. The scope and mount will be here tomorrow. Vortex Diamondback Rimfire 2-7x 35mm Burris PEPR And I'm waiting on Magpul to start shipping the rifle length MOE handguards. So what about it? Any of you other guys dumb enough to spend that much money on a 22? And please don't post your .223 and say "its a 22 with a 3 on the end."
  9. Where the hell are you shipping things? I seriously think people overpay for shipping.
  10. 60 transfers and that 10 dollars turns into another mini14
  11. Yeah. It's a dedicated 22 upper.
  12. Its not just about spending money with them. Develop a relationship with them. Even if you aren't buying anything. Or go in and buy a couple boxes of ammo every week. Get them to know your face and then get them to know your name. Go talk to the guys at Guns & Leather. I've had dealings with Daniel and they are some good guys up there.
  13. Yeah I know. FDE and Black are their money makers these days. That's okay. My OD magpul iPhone case is in the shipment with the scope so at least that will match. haha
  14. OD green Rifle length MOE handguards. All I've been able to find to date has been FDE and Black. Since my grip and stock are OD, I kinda need the OD handguard to match.
  15. my trigger doesn't have any pre-travel. I like it well enough for the rifle its in.

    FMK 9mm ?

I love to handle the one that Chuck mentioned. Its always good for a laugh.
  17. If you have a good shop that you frequent, they should be able to meet or beat those prices. Those aren't SPECTACULAR deals.
  18. Yeah I know. I took the handguard off earlier. It looks better without it than it does with it. Midway is still showing 6/15 as the expected date. I can wait that long.
  19. Not quite finished but you get the idea.
  20. I went to a Memphis City School. Up until my 3rd grade year, they were still allowed to discipline by spankings. After that, there was detention for being tardy. Anything outside of tardiness earned you an ISS (in school suspension) or an OSS (out of school suspension).
  21. Maybe its because I didn't get in trouble in school but I thought it was common knowledge that if you broke the rules you got suspended. Detention was only for tardiness.
  22. I still think you have completely missed my point. I'm not arguing that the punishment fit the crime. I am saying that breaking a rule is NOT the proper way to make a statement about the punishment. Whether the punishment was too harsh or not is not what I am saying. I am saying that the punishment was laid out before the rule was broken. You can't cry that a punishment is too harsh just because you broke the rule.
  23. From what I read, he was trespassing as well. Common sense says that you aren't supposed to trespass and post signs on things that don't belong to you. If you come to my house and try and tape something near my door, you are gonna be met with a shotgun. He broke the rules. PERIOD.
  24. Again, I don't think we are arguing about the same thing here. The punishment was set before he committed the crime, no matter how petty it was. While I may not agree that the punishment was called for, it wasn't a new policy or anything. Change it for future students but this kid committed the crime knowing the punishment. He should have been punished under that rule.
  25. But there is a right way to challenge and a wrong way. the wrong way is to break the rule and then complain. And as for a kid with a lego gun, that is bad parenting. The parents know its against the rules even if the kid doesnt. I DO think that kid should be punished. If you can come up with a way to punish the parents instead, I'd be all for that as well.
