  1. I'm lucky. My Sheriff's office is very easy to deal with. And I'm sorry but in a situation like this, I want a lawyer that can back up his work. Just my personal opinion. And it doesn't always come down to price for me. I named the other reasons that I don't see the benefit of as well. The one thing I will say is that there are a couple of people that I would loan my stuff to but can't. But that's okay because I'm not sure that I would have them on the trust anyways. I want to make it clear that I don't blame anyone for using a trust. I even recommend a trust for some people. But for some people, a trust isn't necessary so I don't see the point in suggesting a trust for everyone.
  2. But that's my primary point. A trust isn't going to be for everyone. And its kind of annoying when every thread mentions the trust like its the greatest thing ever. Not everyone fits into that mold.
  3. Why does it always come down to this with you. You always seem to ignore the Form 5 in every thread. A form 5 makes transfer to a loved one after death a non-issue. I'm not a hermit but I don't loan out my expensive stuff either. If I want to share my firearms with someone (and I DO! alot!) then I go to the range with them.
  4. I have one silencer and I have one SBR pending. I have no plans for more. That's 400 dollars in stamps. The cheapest I could find a LAWYER to do a trust in TN was 400 dollars. I would have effectively doubled the price of my NFA transfers by getting a trust. Now, what does that trust do. It allows other people to be on it. Great. But I'm a single man with no plans for marriage in the next ten years. I have no kids. I have no family close that is interested in guns. It allows me to skip the photo, fingerprint and cleo signature. It costs me 40 bucks for printing and background check. x2 thats only 80 bucks and the cleo signature is easy after that. No big deal there for me. And I printed my own photos that I took with my iPhone. No expense there at all. The trust allows for easy transfer when I die. Thats great. But a Form 5 is an application for tax exempt transfer that will allow my heir to take possession without much hassle. All of that is already in my will. What other benefit would there be for me? I can't find a reason that is strong enough for me to justify the added cost. If a trust were closer to 200 bucks, I would have jumped on it before I bought my silencer. But I refuse to pay two tax stamps for a trust that is only going to have two items on it. I hope that makes sense.
  5. Don't I know you? haha. Whats up bubba!
  6. I still think the trust isn't for everyone.
  7. Why not just put the factory grips back on and get something like a handall. Or even get some slim grips with a handall. A handall would solve the cheese grater problem on the grips and backstrap.
  8. If I'm understanding your question right, you are asking about an integral barrel thats length is less than 16 inches. If so, its a two stamp gun. The only time you don't need a second stamp is in the case of Machine Guns. MGs are allowed to be SBR without having a second stamp.
  9. Actually, this part makes perfect sense. The trust is considered an entity in and of itself. Look at the trust like a company. You are an employee with access to the company tools. However, the company doesn't own you so they don't own your tools. If the company wants full access to your tools, they need to buy them from you. Make sense?
  10. Since the picture I added a big latch and bad lever. With an a2 flash hider, it's 10.4 pounds.
  11. Classic arms has a guy that they use quite frequently. Call them and talk to Mason or Chance. One of those two guys will point you in the right direction.
  12. I never expected these to be cheap. I mean, afterall, the surefire name is worth at least a hundred bucks.
  13. Bottom line right here. Dealer did nothing wrong.
  14. This is my experience. I have taken all of my Fords to the dealership for service. I tell the service writer what I want and I wait for the tech to get my car. I watch what bay he drives to and I walk over and ask if he minds if I talk to him or watch. They always say not a problem and I've gotten to know a couple of them. The only time they ever tried to upsell me was when they hired a new writer that was trying to sell things before the cars got taken back. It doesn't matter if its an independent shop or a dealership, there are usually good mechanics there and its your responsibility to find a good one. When you find a guy you like, request him when you talk to the service writer or service advisor. Its just like finding a doctor. Find a good one or keep looking.
  15. I know that it's not the best out there but it was definitely worth the money. And it's alot of fun. I haven't had any complaints about it. I tell you what, if we ever get on the same side of the state, I'll let you check it out.
  16. And yet I'm very happy with mine.
  17. Yep tall skinny guy is Mason. Good guy.
  18. Mine looks alot like Il Duce's. I wasn't able to snap any pictures before installation and I don't feel like taking my trigger back out. I might snap some later. Here are a few pictures of it installed. I find the safety to be perfectly functional. However, I have similar complaints to Il Duce's. I find the right side lever to be too long and it definitely feels weird under my trigger finger. I also find the safety to be just a little too wide for my liking. Its not a huge deal but you can see the gap in the photos that I took. Overall, its a pretty nice setup and I'm really interested in additional levers if Defense Package makes them.
  19. Yep. Put the factory hammer back in. Sometimes, the VQ parts just can't hit hard enough. Its been known to happen somewhat regularly.
  20. I still think you were wrong about the whole thing though. For many reasons. The Form 1 that you filled out is an "Application to MAKE and register a..." You are making it. If you aren't, then you filled out the wrong form. Also, this is from a "marking variances FAQ." "Therefore, a manufacturer who is participating in any step of the manufacturing process must legibly identify each firearm or request an exception under Title 27 CFR § 478.92(a)(4)(i). These additional variances are extremely important because ATF must know all the parties involved in the complete manufacturing process so that an accurate and thorough trace can be performed by the National Tracing Center."
  21. I hate HIDs. Maybe I just have sensitive eyes but even when a mercedes or some other luxo crap gets behind me, they blind me. HID's are just unnecessary for most city drivers. However, glad you are choosing to do a retrofit and not a conversion. Jon, can you not ticket people for their crappy headlights? Is there a law against it or something?
  22. Spotify is still in the process of ingesting content. A lot of content was originally delivered to Spotify with Euro clearances only since they only did business in that part of the world. Since they opened in the US, they are going through and re-doing contracts to make sure that they have world wide rights. They will be adding content frequently. I would guess that within the year, everything available on itunes will be available on spotify, with a few exceptions (Beatles). I am a digital distributor for music. I literally deliver music to these companies for a living.
  23. People always love to joke about it and make fun of it but its a great training aid. And alot of fun for small children. Everything has a niche and tactical 22's may be new but they definitely serve a purpose.
  24. The spring is not built into the bolt. The spring is on the guide rod/charging handle and is a separate piece from the bolt.
  25. Explain the popularity of the 10/22 10 years ago before all of the AR stuff was available. People like the 10/22 because it is an incredibly reliable platform that has remained unchanged (mostly) for 50 years.
