everyone on sigforum love their 2340s... all sig pros are fantastic in general... especially for the price. I have the 2022 and am at about 1200 flawless rounds. It has a smoother trigger than a lot of the sig classic models I've tried. The trigger should be the same on the 2340.

sounds like it could be a cosmolene issue making everything sticky. Firing pin may need to be removed and cleaned, as well as the rest of the rifle.

So you're at the bank and a gunman bursts in...
extremescene replied to TNTitan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I was NOT armed at the time, it was long before I had a permit. I had to stay at the bank for nearly 3 hours while FBI interviewed every single person. To be honest, I'm not sure they asked if I was carrying or would have made it an issue, assuming I was concealed. I would have volunteered the info, of course. -

I was in a Nashville Suntrust while it got robbed a few years ago. It happened so fast that most people didn't even know it was happening. I didn't know until he was gone. It definitely wasn't like the movies... I don't think most of them will have time to look your direction, unless they get threatened into a hostage situation or you try to slow them down. Best to stay the hell out of there way, that is for sure. In my case, the guy was arrested later that night after he shot somebody at an apartment complex in Antioch. -
Disagree with Obama? You're obviously a racist!

You're right, I wouldn't dare. I know that would not be an intelligent conversation. You missed my entire point and your jump to violence only furthers the problem. You have proven there is no room for further discussion on this issue. I don't want to fight you or anybody. -
How and why to get your C&R License.....
extremescene replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
In the box where it asks about your hunting license status... does it really matter if you do not have a hunting license? I shoot at ranges exclusively and hadn't planned on doing much hunting. -
I sent you a PM, I'll be in your general area this weekend and am interested.

extremescene replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Not by definition, no. Even if you would be mislabeled, and you truly are not racist, which you probably are not... that is a symbol of racism. It symbolizes the enslavement of our fellow human beings and it symbolizes the southern withdraw from the United States of America. I also understand it represents the life and death of many family members who bravely fought in TN...but why would you want to give people the wrong idea, if that isn't your true belief? Like it or not, that is how that particular symbol is viewed and nothing can change the cause that it stood for, enslavement of African-Americans and secession from the US. It's definitely a part of TN history, just not for a very humane reason. It's simply a different time now. That was a way of life then but not anymore. We get to choose how people label us and wearing very specific symbols, if that isn't your belief, simply seems like the wrong choice. You are begging people to mislabel you. There are other ways to honor ancestors and southern heritage. I believe in your right to wear and display that flag. I believe in your right to be racist if you so choose. I also believe in your right to be open and honest about it. -

I'm down. I took my history classes in TN, in a state funded school. For the record, I don't agree with the original article by any means. -

All due respect... The rebel flag on your profile pic does that just as well. -
Is pointing a gun always considered using deadly force?
extremescene replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As many others have said... he was running away, you can't shoot anybody, lethal or non-lethal, that is trying to get away from you. The burglar was avoiding the fight in that case and you escalated it. That point was made very clear in my Guns and Leather HCP class. -
TN-HCP How long from issue to receipt?
extremescene replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
took me about 70 days worth of waiting... I expected the full 90 and was excited to get it "early." edit: sorry, misunderstood post... I'm not sure the issue/receipt delay in my case as I was unaware of the issue date. -
sounded like both of you acted professionally... all is well! It seems perfectly reasonable for store security or a store manager to request your permit, whether he has an actual right to or not. We should make it easy for stores, etc to allow our permitted guns. The alternative, I suppose, is that they call a cop to check for them, which will make for a much more cumbersome and embarrassing experience. All the more reason to keep concealed, in my opinion.

Gun & Knife Show in Lebanon, TN Sept 12-13
extremescene replied to Verne's topic in Events and Gatherings
Thanks for the heads up! Saves me a trip. -
I agree... I would love to see an additional close range pistol pit or 2.
-
Franklin always limits me to 1 box of any kind... did they lift that rule? Everywhere else in Nash tends to be 6.
-
CHMR is the best outdoor range hands down. You will love it as long as the drive from Nashville doesn't get to you.
-
bass pro should price match other dealers... at a nashville gun show last month many dealers had the taurus in the $600-650 range. Also... right now there are a few nice looking used ones going for way less in the classified section of this site as well. edit: I just realized you posted that you walked away with the kimber... congratulations!

I will add that wood sealers and special paint generally will not work... you still have them living inside the wood.
-
We fought these quite extensively a few years ago at the recording studio I work at. The females bore into the wood and the males swarm around the holes in hopes of getting to the females. I recommend a professional exterminator who can come and inject the holes with a poison powder that will kill the ones inside the wood, thus preventing the males from swarming around the outside. We did this about 3 years ago and haven't had to redo the poison since. Pretty much eliminated the problem 100% with the exception of a few stragglers every now and again.

I was sick and couldn't make it Saturday so unless a fan turns in some photos, there won't be any from last show unfortunately.

The acoustics are spectacular! It's counter-intuitive, but there is actually very little, if any, echo down in the volcano room of that cave. I'm the photographer there as well as a professional sound engineer. The caverns are so deep that sound doesn't bounce back and forth like you would expect... a natural phenomenon! I highly recommend anyone who even remotely likes bluegrass to check out a show there... you won't regret it. It is a magical experience... Sept 25 is a great show with hot new female group, Those Darlins, as well as legend Charlie Louvin. Hope to see you guys there!

Hdr is a computer combination of 3 differently exposd photographs of the same scene. If you expose a photo so the sky looks right, the subject will be underexposed, or vice versa. Hdr theory means you expose for everything in your shot and merge the results with hdr software. This should be fairly unnoticable if done right, but can be taken to extremes to create some of the surreal photos you see as hdr.

I heard that the switch to plastic guide rods had something to do with desert conditions and the need for more lubrication on the metal ones. Since the plastic is self lubricating, it creates less problems. Not sure if I believe that or not, but I did swap the plastic guide rod in my 2022 for a steel one... just because I could. Made the muzzle flip a touch less do to the additional weight, but otherwise not much difference. Even the manufacturer of the steel guide rod I purchased states that you should not have any real issues with the plastic factory ones. It's more of a piece of mind thing.
