  1. I think part of it is the ammo used in the AKs. Usually it's some cheap import stuff. I"ve got a 2x scope mounted on mine via Ultamak mount and the accuracy sucks. Even at 25 yards I can easily tell the difference between it and my AR, or FAL for that matter. Haven't tried any hand loads in it. They are what they are. There are some slow motion videos on YouTube showing the barrel whip during firing, I'd bet that's part of the problem. As far as reliability, it runs and runs and runs. When the weather warms up I may run some more tests, but my previous sessions were not impressive.
  2. good job, I made a similar one for my P32. I started with an eyeglasses case and included a flap that optionally goes over the top to cover the gun in case my pocket isn't deep enough to cover the top. Seems like the ready-made ones I see sort of like this either don't cover the whole gun, or are flipped around the other way. I've been carrying mine for at least 5 years. May need to make another one.
  3. I've always wanted one of those to play with.
  4. Been there done that. Let her pick it out. If she won't carry it it's not doing her any good. As much as I don't understand it, looks is much more important than effectiveness. I personally like the Kel-tec pistol for easy to use and price. I had one customized for my wife so it would look pretty.
  5. I put the drylock on mine, 3 sides of the room and it helped immensely. Was one pain the a$$ to apply, but it seems to have knocked the moisture level way down. I'm considering putting a 6" branch off my central HVAC unit into the dead end of the room and installing a vent in the door which is on the other end just to keep some conditioned air flowing through. Don't think it will be a big hit on my hvac system and might keep my dehumidifier from running so much.
  6. have got the exact same problem, or used to. I've got a zombie room, or actually a storm room, yes, storm room, that's what it is sorry:nervous:, that is directly under my porch. The cold transfers from outside and caused it it "rain" inside. The humidity and warmth of the inside was the issue, even a dehumidifier was not enough to keep if from raining. I used 3/4" pink foam sheets. Tried gluing them with construction adhesive, but they eventually started to come down in spots. I ended up using a Trakfast gas nailing gun to drive nails through fender washers. The nails went right through the corrugated steel and into the concrete above, and they ain't coming down now! Usually if you just put one at each corner, the adhesive will do the rest. You'll also need to tape the joints I do get some cold transfer through the nails and now the fender washer tends to sweat a little. I need to go back and glue some foam over them to fix that. You just need to keep the air off the cold parts. You could probably get by with 1/2" foam, maybe. Not sure how you'd get the spray foam applied to a ceiling if you're talking about those little cans, and it's gonna look kinda ugly. The pink is real purdy. There are companies that use high pressure foam sprayers that would probably work. I waited until the summer to do mine so the ceiling was real dry.
  7. Hell, I just cut my pony tail off before Xmas!
  8. Try a different kind of ammo and see what happens. If you're still concerned send it back to Kel-tec, they have terrific customer service.
  9. And windy it was today. Thought I might as well go for the full monte and try for all classes. I just have to use this one, it's my namesake!
  10. http://campaignforliberty.com/article.php?view=552 Don't agree with all of it, maybe some, but it's an interesting way to put it together.
  11. welcome aboard
  12. :bowrofl:
  13. put everybody on high deductible plans with health savings accounts and ban all public advertising of non-over the counter meds.-- problem solved. Will it happen, never. Even doctors agree with this. Tobacco advertising was banned, we can ban drug advertising to John Q. Public as well. This alone would save a huge amount of money.
  14. Ok, here's a different twist. Chamber empty, safety off, 8 rnd mag loaded with 5 rnds #8, 5 more 00 buck on stock ammo carrier. We're in the country, so sometimes I need a shotgun for varmints, 00 buck not real good for wood peckers on house at 5am. On other hand, if a pecker is in house at 5am I'll slip in some 00 buck in front of the #8s and teach him a lesson. Maybe I should reverse it, 00 buck in mag, and #8s in ammo carrier. Pecker on house not as critical as pecker in house?
  15. I'm going to do this, this month. Never have, but I'm going to this month. Glad it's warming up outside!
  16. If we're going to slice Mem. off lets just go all the way chisel TN out of the whole shootin' match. Republic of TN, sans Memphis.
  17. Are they any good to eat?
  18. I think the no camera rule is to try and keep out the news media since they seldom provide any positive coverage.
  19. Make sure you provide some ability to connect up a dehumidifier. A drain would be nice but not always possible, certainly a way to plug one into AC would be needed. I've found that even if you've contained the moisture with dry-lok, the dehumidifier will "sweeten" the air and keep if from smelling like a basement.
  20. web site is where I got the info, but you're right, Hazelwood is the old location. I saw an ad in the local paper (Lebanon) a couple of days ago for the show. Was surprised to see it knowing their old venue had been canceled. I don't remember what the location was other than in Mboro near I-24 and it was some place with Expo in it's name. The ad made specific mention that this was the show formerly in Smyrna.

  22. 1/16 & 1/17 I think
  23. I second this. It's a real pain in the a** to apply but does work well. I have a 95% underground storm room 32x7 that I also use for ammo storage and was having some issues with moisture. I etched first, then coated the walls with the UGL product and it's been a 100% improvement. Also makes it brighter. If you do coat it, there might be an issue with penetrating the coating with fasteners (nails/screws) used in attaching slat board etc.
  24. Shuttering the fairgrounds and closing events that serve local people in favor of a huge convention center that will only serve periodic out of town guests that could care less about Nashville. Yep, sounds like politicians at work to me.
  25. Been casting a little this weekend, .309 and .357 used some old wheel weights I had hanging around for a while. I had wondered if the wheel weights today were made of lead. Is it easy to tell the difference in zinc and lead ones? Used to garages would just give them to you. Doubt that happens anymore.
