There are a number of good candidates in place to run against Cooper this fall. I've met most of the republican candidates, and any of them would be a huge improvement over JC. Probably will be a tough ouster, but if it can happen this will be the year to make it happen.

Called Gordon's DC office this afternoon and actually got through to a real person first try. She told me he had decided to vote yes on the "deem" measure advancing the health care legislation. Got an email tonight confirming it again. No reason we can't still bombard him with calls. I also sent him the following reply to his email. I'm really pissed about this whole situation, I can't believe we're where we are. I've got to calm down, I can't get anything else done for thinking about this situation.---- OK, I'm calming down now..... Here's what I sent just because I was so pissed at the time. Then why are you agreeing to use a less than constitutional method of passage, if this bill is so right for Tennessee and our country? The "deem" passage method makes my country look like some third world regime rather than the leader of the free world and champion of liberty and justice. Regardless of your opinion of the health care bill itself, you are shameless in you support of this despicable method of circumventing our constitution and the shared powers it put into place by our founding fathers. What else can we expect you to "deem" appropriate? Your time in congress is soon coming to an end and I say amen. I hope you get a real cushy government job out of the deal in some other state, or preferably, country. Maybe they could use a man like you in South America somewhere because no one in Tennessee with half a brain would ever employ you for honest gain.

centerfire was offering 5.45 CAI made ones for $350 to your dealer. Thought that was a pretty good deal. I have been predicting some pretty good price drops in the second quarter 2010

"an AK" sounds mighty singular to me. How about 2 or 3 or maybe 5. There's always room for one more.

Do all the "Micro" red dots co-witness the same? Aimpoint, Fast Fire and others? I'd like to put one on my AK. Already have the Ultimak, but hate to put more in the optic than the gun is worth. I've got a 2x scope on it now just to check the accuracy. Think a dot scope would work better.

Modify a Hungarian AK to take standard AK mags?

How often does the Davis console update? I have an Oregon scientific that when used in wireless mode only updates about every 120 seconds. Which is fine for temps, but for wind it's fairly useless. If I wire it in I get 8 second updates which is much better.

interesting, Nippers Corner, used to ride my bicycle down there way before it was ever known as Nippers, the area has sure changed.

went around lunch time yesterday. Bigger than last time with an additional building. Little different layout made moving around a little easier. Lots of people. Bought 1K of 62 gr. 223 tips for $68, thought that was a pretty good deal. Same stuff on tables as most other shows. Some walking around sales, they mostly thought more of their guns than I did. Did see some money changing hands several times, and paperwork being filled out, so I guess there were some deals to be had. $7 at the door, I had a $1 coupon.

you might try running it through again, sometimes they go bang on the second try.

I'm really surprised a company still produces a printed catalog like this considering the cost, postage and so on when the web is such an economical alternative. All that being said, I'm glad they do as I sure enjoy looking through it and it will likely buy a thing or two.

on an internal you can also see it from the back end of the slide, sort of a half moon looking piece.

Looks like another gun show is scheduled for this weekend in Lebanon at the Ag. center. There's a $1 off coupon in the local papers. I don't remember what the entry fee was last time, maybe 6 or 7 bucks. I know many panned the last show there, but I thought it was ok for a first time deal. Mainly because it was local and hopefully by supporting it, it will get better over time. I'm not affiliated with the show in any way, just would like to see a show in Lebanon take hold and make a go of it.

My P22 will not digest the Federal bulk, always one or two mis-feeds. Mine is an early model, maybe a new mag would help? The Remington bulk runs pretty good and some old wildcat shot well. The Federal doesn't even want to run in my Nylon 66 and it usually shoots anything. I also can't get my P22 to shoot high enough. I've got the shortest font post mine came with and it still shoots low. Wish I could fix that.

One of my favorite pumps, would like to have one. I particularly like the spook ring.

I never really like the way the front pistol grip, or the wire stock looked so decided on this one I'd go my own way. I really don't like the looks of this add on folding stock either, preferring the one that requires modification to the rear trunion, but I picked this one up pretty cheap off a forum so had to go with it. I've got a Romy with a front pistol grip and it shoots and feels fine. I built this one just to be different all the way around.

AMD 65s are fire breathers. Here's the one I hacked together from a kit. Loud, but fun to shoot!!

I hear them almost every night around my place, they sound really close, but hardly ever see one during the day.

I just love the smell of Hoppies in the morning.

Having built a bunch of them, if you're just wanting an AK go buy one. If, on the other hand, you like fooling with them, using a file, hammer, pliers, bigger hammer, punches, rivets etc. then there's nothing like making one and being able to say you did it all yourself. You can heat treat just the FCG holes with a propane torch so that's not a big deal. Having all the other tools is nice and the build can come out real spiffy. Make one 'cause you want to make one, not 'cause you just want an AK. Used to be able to build one for really cheap. Probably not a whole lot of difference now in the price of a ready-made one considering the price of parts kits these days.

Opening a new bottle of #9 is kinda like getting the hot glue gun out. You might as well just go ahead and squirt some glue directly on a couple of your fingers, they're going to get burned before you're done-- at least that way you won't be surprised when it happens!! ----- it's a new bottle, it's gonna turn over on ya.
