I'm afraid we may have a somewhat L shaped recession, ain't no recovery.

I was reading a blog somewhere and a guy was telling about buying gold trinkets, rings jewelry and such for SHTF situations. It could be used for barter just like coins, but people would allow more for a pretty trinket than coins or bullion. I keep some silver 90% coins for the purpose and should probably pick some more up, but investing in black gold is probably a better route. Black gold being serious hardware with a trigger and some ammo to feed it. Since removing the U.S. from the gold standard, paper money has zero value other than the value you personally place on your physical or mental labor and willingness to work. That's all a dollar is worth and, of course, that value is worth more to some than others. The government has no intrinsic value, creates nothing, and backs up their paper currency only through our acceptance of their ability to levy taxes. So, when other countries are buying dollars, or our treasury's debt, they are really only purchasing our long standing history as a people to be productive, and the governments ability to continue to levy taxes with the expectation of us paying them.

I ordered some over the weekend and have received an email indicating it's being processed. So far so good. I do believe they will ship it. May need to order some more though, AP and the belt linked for a 1919.

Where's Katrina when you need her? Hurricane season is coming, boy that's gonna be a mess.

how much is the cmp gonna sell it for? Wonder if you could pick it up at the south store? I've got a few rounds and have shot a few. All have worked well. Friend has a piece of 1.5 inch plate steel and it made hole, looked like it had been drilled, just a little flash out remaining on the back side.

If you don't have the first few seasons on DVD in your personal library, you don't know what you're missing. They are all classic and a hoot funnier than anything on TV today. I sometimes think an entire 30 min episode of any of today's "comedy" shows is nothing more than a build up to one stupid line uttered by one of the characters. Regardless of the actual leanings of the actors, the show was a one of a kind. I remember watching it with my mom and dad (along with Laugh-in) and even remember an entire display of tee shirts, mugs and other related items at Penny's (100 Oaks store) with the slogan "Archie Bunker for President" during one election year cycle, heck I may have even had one of the shirts. I actually bought the entire set of seasons as an anniversary present to my wife for us to enjoy together. You'll be glad you have them.

I knew you guys could figure this out!

I expect this change in procedure has something to do with the new obamacare tax added to botox injections so this makes for a no-tax alternative. At least for now. What will this tax be called?

I just bought a sack of brand new unprimed brass for my .222, it sure is purdy. Never used any virgin brass before. What's the general rule for loading brand new stuff like this? Does it need to be sized or anything? I thought I'd chamfer the case mouth on all of them first, but noticed some are a little dinged and not quite round. Any general procedures for starting with fresh brass?

I've got both. Really like both. But for me they serve two separate purposes. P11 is my main carry gun, I've had it for at least 10-12 years. The only issue I've ever had was trying to shoot some soft lead slugs at a velocity higher than I should have. It shot them great, but they stripped right through the rifling and hit the target at all sorts of funny angles. Otherwise it's a great gun, decent factory sights and I grew up on DA in a wheel gun so I don't mind the trigger. My CZs are fun to shoot, cheap, accurate but ain't no way they are a carry gun. Too heavy and if you're right handed, you'll find your thumb knuckle has a tendency to push the safety up under recoil just enough to keep it from firing. Not good. The org. sights are ok, but not really what you need for a carry gun. You'd need to carry it cocked and locked, but with the hammer drop safety it doesn't sound like a good idea. If you're wanting something to shoot and have fun and maybe keep in the nightstand, the CZ would work. If you planning on CCW, go for the P11 it can do all of it. I've got several Kel-tecs and like all of them.

I use an old tennis racket, the strings really tear them up and there's no wind to blow them around like a standard old board. I've also used .22 shot shells, but you have to be more careful with them. -
what kind of a magazine are you using to feed that thing?

That's pretty neat, CZs rock. Saw one today at a pawn shop, $225. Think I paid about $100 ea for mine a few years back. A bolt rifle chambered for it would be pretty neat.

I used to do a lot of metal detecting for civil war relics. Many years ago we were hunting somewhere near Murfreesboro, I was just a teenager then. Hadn't been having much luck that afternoon, but noticed a really strange shaped flat rock in the middle of a cedar thicket; it looked like an animal of some sort. I wasn't really paying much attention to my detecting for looking at the strangely shaped rock, but got a loud reading near it. I started digging but my little shovel wasn't big enough. My friends dad, who I hunted with often, brought his large shovel over to help. As it turned out there were several old oil cans buried there, the type made of cardboard but lined with aluminum foil. At first, figuring it was just junk, we punched one open with the shovel and discovered it was full of these round balls with fuses sticking out. Holy mother load, this was better than finding a mini ball, these cans were packed full of cherry bombs! I think in all we ended up with a few over 200 of them. Of course they had been outlawed way before this, so we guessed someone decided to get rid of their's and buried them near this uniquely shaped rock. Having been a fireworks fiend anyway, and never having anything as powerful as a cherry bomb or M80, this was an unbelievable find! Some of them had gotten damp and were no good, but the majority of them went off with a huge blast. We dived them up and made them last as long as we could. Think I still had one or two, years later.

hows the trigger on that Marlin? I had sort of been leaning toward the Savage with their accu trigger.

Seems like my dogs like playing with them, they come in smelling to high heaven. Anytime I see one in the daytime I try to pop a cap on him. Shot one Sunday with a .30 carbine. Earlier in the week one escaped me because I couldn't get a bead on him quick enough.

Kinda thinking about a .17 HMR. I'm always needing to dispatch a skunk or some other varmint around the house, and while I've got some .223s, I really thought the .17 might be a nice solution. I use to think I wanted a .17 remington, but never got into it. Or, maybe I could also use one of my .223s and load some really light 34 gr. bullets? Using an AR maybe? Anybody been down this road before?

I say we plan a strike day. Sometime a couple of months now, time to get the word out. No one goes to work, no one buys anything, just quit for a day. Sort of along the Atlas Shrugged theme, cept. we do if for just one day. They got the morons planning to turn their lights off for an hour next saturday we can just eliminate productivity and commerce for one day. BTW, I'm planning on turning every damn light in the house on next saturday during their stupid deal.

you're right on, and it won't wait until Nov. for sure. The dems have already sealed their fates with this vote, Rahm and the other handlers know this so expect a flurry of unpopular bills to quickly sail to the halls of congress. They are already screwed in Nov. everyone knows that, why not go all in? At this point there's little for them to loose. keep your powder dry boys, it's just about time break it out.

I'll take the uncle mike slide holster, if still ava. and fits a 19, best I can tell it should. Wouldn't have a extractor spring for a 19 in there somewhere would you?
