sometimes I'll tickle the bid just to see if I can figure out where the current bidder is sitting. Then I usually use hammersnipe to set my final price. I use the free version which is about the same as you sitting in front of your computer waiting to click the button in the last few seconds. It works good and does not give your max bid away until the end.

Mine will not run on the Federal bulk pack (and neither will a marlin 60 I've got) but it works fine with the Remington bulk pack. I need a shorter front site. Can you call or write S&W and get these? I've forgotten what numbers I have, but even the shortest is not short enough.

I've got a UTG also. I fiddled with it and ended up with more on the ground than in the bag. Probably deserves a little more fiddling, but it's not an impressive setup for sure. I usually just use a big blue HF tarp.

it also may have to do with how cheap the mags are, or the springs. I'd say quality mags wouldn't be a problem. Something out of a Jennings or Raven might not hold up as well. Or maybe even some of the cheaper aftermarket mags may not have as high a quality steel (or tempering) in their springs. I almost always load my carry mags with one short. Usually that last round is really tight in there and is more difficult to strip out than the next one, so I leave it one short, but that has nothing to do with spring damage or weakening.

bought my wife a Nook for Xmas. She is always reading books and brings a tote full from the library all the time. She loves the Nook. I don't think I've seen her without it since she opened it. It supports free books from the library. I don't think it will do card games, it does have sudoku built in. It's only black and white screen. You'll probably want something in color for card games. Some of the tablets support Andriod and there are probably a bunch of card game apps out there for it. It might be easier for her to have something she is familiar with rather than something new like a tablet. Might get by with a net book, and they are usually smaller and more portable.

They are goofy looking little guns. Had to have one the first time I picked one up. It's a great shooting with the Glock 18 mags, it will really sing.

I've purchased Suspend SC over the internet and used it with good results. Lasts several months and does not have an odor and you can't see it on anything after spraying. I don't have pets but it's said to be ok after it dries. I mix up a gallon and spray the whole house and basement sometimes the garage, maybe twice a year.

I used to fire form .223 cases to 7mm using bullseye and toped off with a load of corn meal, then a plug of wax. Don't remember it being all that noisy though.

Sounds like you got a great deal, especially with the added 9mm bbl. I think they are great pistols. Cheap to shoot with surplus ammo and pretty dang accurate. Even out to 100 yards they will make you look good! Only a couple of issues I've had with mine, I've got two. If shooting at a range be careful with other shooters to the right, CZs fling the brass a good 10-15 ft. Second, I have trouble with my thumb knuckle (right handed) working up the safety just enough to keep the trigger from moving. Usually happens after firing a few rounds and the recoil causes the problem. I've considered taking it apart and seeing if I could make the fire detent a little stiffer, but have not done it. I've never had a ftf or any kind of failure. Have heard of firing pins breaking. I've probably shot 1000+ rnds. through mine. It's one of the guns I always take to the range.

good job, what did you take him with?

Purdiest pistol I ever saw was a 4" Colt Python with Nickel finish. Was a Colt Custom shop special. Trigger was as smooth as room temperature butter. Always wished I had bought it.

some many years ago I made a claim on the NRA insurance due to a break in, they paid right up no problems. I sent mine back in just a few days ago for the upgrade.

Thank you knox! I appreciate you starting this thread. Because of this thread, I took last Sunday's beautiful weather as an opportunity to exercise these fellas. My son and I put a few rounds through them and had a great afternoon of plinking. There's nothing better than a .22 rifle and the good times that go with them. Thank you again. PM on the way.

Picked it up at The Armory in Lebanon, but it was the last one they had. From what I've read it was a short run Spikes did last year, 250 or so pieces.
-
Thanks, I've got one more like the top one except it's parkerized with Lyman peep sights. Didn't put it up because its missing the trigger guard and that really makes it look goofy. I've got a replacement but just haven't gotten around to putting it on. I don't guess you can ever have enough .22s.

and now for something completely different... Both Mossbergs, both marked U.S. Govt property. Both are tack drivers.

Hadn't considered a 458, does have a good ring to it when said at the same time with zombie! As with cars these days, seems like the choices are basically unlimited. I think the younger generation enjoys changing the wallpaper on their phone as much as using it, and the same could be said for their guns. There's plenty of stuff here for him to shoot while he figures it out. Making a plan and picking what suits you isn't always quick, but it does have rewards in the end. I think it's going to be a fun project. He built an AK a year or two ago and we found just the right combination of parts to make his unique and he really likes it. We going to try and shoot for that experience again.
-
I've built one other AR, and several AKs, this one is for my son who really thought the markings were great. Apparently they made a run of about 250 of these sometime last year. We were not looking for one, but found this one at the Armory in Lebanon. It was a little less than $150 stripped, which is a bit on the high side these days, but hey when are you going to get something like this again? I think they normally sell stnd. lowers for around $120. My son thought it was cool. The interesting part for me is how Spikes got away with using the term "live" for the "safe" selector position and "dead" for "fire" position. It seems a bit counter intuitive. I can't believe their lawyers would have approved. For non zombie lovers, this would not make sense and would seem to be a potential huge liability. I think that really makes it unique. He's already planning to do some other colors on the lettering and trying to decide on furniture etc.

Picked up a Spikes Zombie lower and now I need to plan a build out. Any suggestions? Thinking I might add a Twinkie logo to the other side.

Just an fyi for anyone in Wilson County that's a Republican. The Wilson County Republican Party will be holding it's reorganization election of officers/Executive Committee on January 29th at the Ward Ag. Center in Lebanon (Wilson Co. fairgrounds) at 10 am. If you're at all interested in local politics and concerned about the direction of the local Republican party you are encouraged to attend. Nominees for six offices will be taken from the floor, so the slate of candidates is wide open. The only requirement for holding office or for voting is that you are a WC resident and have voted in at least two of the last four Republican primaries. It will also be possible to take a Republican pledge if you have two witnesses that will vouch for your "Republican-ness". These elected officers will guide the official branch of the Republican Party in WC. The WC party seeks to champion Republican principles, support Republican candidates and involve WC Republican voters to achieve these goals. Make this your party, show up and support the nominees that represent you.

I carry a P-11 frequently, and shot it frequently. Factory ammo and reloads and it works like a champ. I must say though, with full power ammo my hand gets tired much quicker than my desire to shoot it. It's quite peppy in recoil. Personally I like the trigger better than a Glock.
