  1. Here's an interesting vid from last week's CPAC. It's about 27 min so a bit long, but worth a listen. He hits the nail on the head and he does it from a first person perspective. He gives a great analysis on our march to European socialism. And this is the reason the next national election is more important than just choosing someone for just the next 4 years. There's no way in hell any of the R front runners are going to do anything to peal us off this inevitability. It's the constution stupid. Listen to the speech...
  2. that's cool, need one for my zombie lower.
  3. Until the republican establishment gets the message that we're not going to put up with a Romy/McCain/Dole type of candidate we're screwed. And frankly, while I'm holding my nose I can just as easily vote republican or democrat because at this pace there's no difference. As a matter of fact, why would I want to vote for a repub. when someone like Romy is literally going to get blamed for every bad thing that happens because there's no way he can make a difference at this point. It only sets us up for Hillery or Cuomo or some other democrat in 2016. Put the big O back in and grease the skids for some real change, the right change in 2016. And please don't buy into the "anybody but Obama" shtick, we've been duped with that too many times before.
  4. Seems like they had some of these at Widners in east TN.

    Body Armor

Last time I was at the Creek I saw a number of folks on the line wearing a vest. With some of the off the wall stuff and surplus ammo being lit off by the thousands there's no telling what might misfunction.
  6. Here's a suggestion:.... http://gprime.net/video.php/tattooremover
  7. anybody ever been to the show in Atlanta? My cousin has been trying to get me to come and go. Says it's big but he's never been.
  8. Maybe we could get Ross Perot to team up and be Ron Paul's running mate! Man would that be an old geezer ticket. And old geezers don't take s**t from anyone. They would flat get some things straightened out-- that's what I'm talking about!!
  9. the wife saw a "herd" of them last week, probably 100+ birds. never seen that many at one spot
  10. They fling the empties into the next county, so watch who's on your right!
  11. yes, that was a goof up when the 17 amendment was passed. Senators should be there to represent the states and appointed by the state houses and not be popularly elected. Actually though, I do believe popular elections for president with the electorial college is constitutional, but the founders originally had it so that the one who got the second most votes became the vice president. That's what makes me think they had no idea that parties were going to be so involved and powerful.
  12. EXCELLENT! Goldwater is my hero. Can't believe McCain was allowed to take his senate seat. A sad day. Goldwater was disappointed in Eisenhower, and had great hopes for Nixon but became disappointed in him as well.
  13. We're stuck in a loop. We hold our noses and vote year after year and where has it gotten us? Or maybe some would say look how much worse it would be if we hadn't held our noses and voted. To me RP is not an ego driven candidate. He simply fits the definition of seeing no good choices and is stepping in to change it. It can't be done overnight or even through one election cycle. It has to build momentum and RP has already developed a head of steam. So, those of us who are tired of holding our noses don't feel like we are showing a lack of regard for the country, on the contrary, we are standing our ground and working toward changing the system. Yes, we may in the meantime be destined for a decade of malaise, but it is what's necessary to truly affect the change we need. Holding our noses and voting for McCain got us in the spot, (along with many others before that) why would doing it again make it any better now? The establishment of both parties needs to understand we're not going for this s**t anymore, and you can't make us. As far as third party runs go, you can forget it. The system is not set up for that mechanically. If we as a country were truly interested in electing the best person for the job we'd have to completely revamp the election process. This 4 year long continuous campaign cycle is ridiculous. Campaigns need to be much shorter, funded with public money, exclude all other contributions, all primaries held simultaneously, and a run off (within weeks) if no candidate in the general receives more than 50% of the vote. I don't believe the founders ever expected all this crap with parties to get the way it has. Otherwise they would not have set the president and vice president election the way they did. It's time for a revamp, but we'll never get it. So the only alternative is to change the two party system we're stuck with, and that means holding our noses is out. We've got to change one of the parties to the core. Holding our noses again, even for just one vote because we're afraid of what might happen, and gets us no closer to a better system. It just kicks the can down the road and we wasted our time, and our country is no better off. Our regard for the country is great even though our time horizon may be long.
  14. doesn't mean their resolute opinions can't settle on being for liberty and constitutional government. BTW, love your signature. Your quote comes from my favorite speech of the whole book.
  15. Excellent! I wish all Republicans would agree to do the same. It's seems we are always told that once the primary is over and the nominee is chosen, we will all hold hands and move forward together. Unfortunately there is an asterisk and some fine print. *Unless the nominee is RP, then we don't have to. Until the party comes around, until we MAKE the party come around, we will never see a candidate fielded that has the ability to turn things around. It's a shame that we as a country, and it's people are going to be taken through hell in order to get the message across. I am encouraged that young people seem to be open and embracing the ideas RP stands for. This fight will span more than one, two or even three election cycles and the fire will catch on. We will eventually burn down the rotted dead wood that supports the republican party. From those ashes we will begin again with the vision The Founders bequeathed to us and we will prevail with liberty and freedom and once again be the sovereign nation our forefathers sacrificed and willingly shed blood for!
  16. There are two videos, you may have seen them, but if not you should. If you watch them all the way through you'll have a better handle of Paul's foreign policy thinking. And it does make sense. Here you go: This one is probably one of the best I've seen: Armed Chinese Troops in Texas! - YouTube this gives some history and defines "blowback" You Like Ron Paul, Except on Foreign Policy - YouTube
  17. Thumbs up to Lester! You can't turn a big ship on a dime. And while RP may not win, he is in the process of turning a big ship. And I'm paddling just as fast as I can to help him. And yes, part of my paddling may cause another round of the Obumer, but a vote for Romy, Santi or Ging just means it's going to take longer to get this ship turned around. If we don't get back on constitutional footing there will be nothing of what we have enjoyed in our lifetimes to hand down to our children and grandchildren.
  18. amen, Lester the fix is in and the nominee has been chosen. The Iowa caucus was a prime example. Everything else between now and the convention is just a dog and pony show. The R establishment has it all worked out, you just need to get over it. The Rs have not learned their lesson. They require more time in the desert, lets see to it.
  19. nobody has mentioned this that I've seen, but results look a bit out of whack to me. It wouldn't surprise me to see some GOP number doctoring behind the scenes to have gotten this outcome. Hell, Sanitorium wasn't even on the radar two weeks ago. Having Ron Paul in second place would have been a huge black eye for the establishment and the future of caucuses in general. By keeping him in third no one has to report on finish position they can jump right over and talk about Newt or Perry or whoever else.
  20. nothing like being endorsed by a LOOSER! Making the endorsee a LOOSER! TOO! I'm beginning to think that I've held my nose and voted Republican long enough. I can just as easily hold my nose and vote democrat. Outcome will be the same. Burn it down and start over. It may take more time in the desert before we can enjoy the promised land.
  21. I think they are great little guns. I've got two and they are both super accurate and ammo is cheap. And you don't have to worry about chasing brass, and it's a good thing because it will fling empties close to 20'. Sometimes my thumb knuckle will ride up on the grip and slightly press the safety which is just enough to keep the trigger from pulling. I've been wanting to take it apart and make the detent a bit more sure, but haven't done it. I'd buy another one.
  22. Just thought I'd check if anyone has been to the Lebanon show this weekend? I haven't been to it in a while, but it's close thought I make make the trip.
  23. had two over the past month or so unfortunately (for them) take an interest in some of my domestic stock. Have heard bunches more but have not seen any. Saw two that were not good a dodging cars, it didn't go well.
  24. as with most things, maybe a little more with NV, you get what you pay for. And it depends on what you're planning to do with it. I've got a buddy with some really nice NV. Upwards of 3K each, both are gen3 and are amazing. I've shot his .223 using one of the monoculars behind a EOtech and it's pretty nice. Super clear and very bright. But it's 3K, or maybe you can find one for a little less if you keep your eye out. I wanted something but couldn't spend the big bucks, many said just save your money up for something good. Well, that's an awful lot of saving for me. Instead, even after some said don't waste your money, I decided to buy one of the Yukon gen1 units. No it's not as good, no where near but it does work. I think the one I bought is online for about $400 or $450, I found a near new one on line from a private owner for $250. It was not exactly the one I wanted, but the price was right and figured I'd resell it if I didn't like it. I've got it mounted on my AR 20" and I can make a pretty good group in the dark with it. It's limited to about 100 yds depending on the size of your target. I've taken two yotes at about 70 yds when they were causing problems with livestock. I would eventually like to get a better unit that would offer a higher magnification, but I'm pleased with what I have. I'm not likely to get a shot at anything farther than 100 yds anyway. You can cheat a little with the gen1 units by getting a good IR light source.
  25. sure wanted to come out today, but had to be out of town. Post some pix of the event, it sounded like a lot of fun.
