dang, had to buy some
-
Got my tracking number, didn't have to call. Should be here Friday
-
The last one I got was about 10 years ago. Oddly enough they were giving them for free at a funeral home, is that weird or what. I don't plan to get another one
-
I went ahead and ordered one w M4 bbl and MBUS $319. I've already got most everything to finish it, will need to pick up a charging handle somewhere. We'll. See how long it takes I'm in no hurry
-
They have several uppers no bcg or chg handle starting at $279. Seemed like a pretty decent deal. Thin bbls. on some of them. Deal or no?
-
I've got 2 of them one is serial no. Under 200. I've put several hundred rounds through it and it's been nearly flawless. The second one is also a first gen. and it runs well also. 32 is a bit of a pipsqueek. It would not punch a hole through a 55 gal drum at short range. I was a little surprised

Yotes can sound much closer than they really are especially at night
-
Hum, I'm self employed so I do nothing all day. Not sure what I'm going to take a pics of?

Yotes really loud here last night. Woke me up 3 times. Wonder if the cooler weather had anything to do with it.

I've never had any problem with leading in 9mm casting my own or buying bulk. Did load some pretty hot ones once that keyholed through a short bbl. Keltec but ran fine through two other guns. Figured the bbl was just too short to stabilize it. They were the Speer soft lead and are bad about leading anyway.

yes, is it 18.5 to the end of the brake? I thought that might look pretty good with the rib on it. Would also like to install ghost ring sights and maybe a rail on the receiver. Haven't decided if I'll go with a pistol grip stock or not. I have one on my 1100 HD, but wasn't sure on this one.
-
I saw that one and did consider it, although it is FTF in Knoxville. And I was kinda hoping to use what I have and tinker around with it. I sort of like doing up custom stuff, figuring I'd silver solder some sort of breeching flash hider to the end making it a total of 18.5 and sort of thought it might be pretty neat looking with the rib remaining. Cutting a standard bbl. back--- is a shotgun bore about the same all the way down? I'll be cutting off about 8-10 inches. I've got a Rem 1100 HD that has a 21" deer bbl on it that's nice, but was wanting to make this one a little neater looking and and short as possible without getting a special stamp.

I have a Remington 870 that I would like to make an HD shotgun. It currently has a 28 inch modified choke vent rib bbl. I was thinking about cutting it down and permanently installing a flash hider. I would also like to install some sort of ghost ring sight. Any suggestions on the best way to go about this?

amen, brother!! -
I'm surprised this day is still identified considering how anti islam it is. We should all be ashamed of ourselves.

He's actually a Liberty candidate, I've met him. I expect he would line up with most of our ideas, smaller government, states rights, lower deficit and spending. He may also veer off to some extent when it comes to legalization of drugs and other social issues. Many of the liberty candidates lean toward the libertarian on those issues. I've met him heard him speak, but don't really know anything else about him.

Breaking: Paul Ryan chosen as Romney VP
seez52 replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I guess it's about the best we could hope for at this point. He seems to be well liked with the tea party folks, and those who believe him to be a true conservative. Although in reality he's still a spend happy politician. His budget still supported big government programs that would be better off being closed completely down. But since it's probably not going to happen, I guess he's at least somewhat on the right track. I'm not trying to knock him, but for some reason he seems like he might be long lost kin of the Munsters. If we gotta vote Romney, I guess this'll have to do. Could have been the loud mouth from New Jersey. -
interesting analysis on mass shootings

For some reason his indepth analysis still isn't coming up. It was quite extensive, seem like he used over 95 different incidences to derive the data. -

yes, I'm not sure what the deal is. It is a good read. If you have google chrome you can read a cached page. -
need key for elcheapo Sentry gun safe
seez52 replied to seez52's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I figured the tag was on the inside. There is not a number on the front of the keyhole. I'm not sure if there's a sticker on back. It's currently in one of those self storage places and I can't see the back and I've got a bunch of stuff all piled in and around it. I guess I'm going to need to rearrange and see if I can check the backside for a sticker. Trip Ride: thanks for the offer I may take you up, let me do a little more checking around first. I'm in Lebanon. There's a locksmith place here that sells real safes I may run by and see if they maybe have something. Thinking they might laugh me out of the place when I tell them what I have!! -
I need a key for the low end Sentry gun safe. It's the very bottom of their line and uses a skelleton type key. I was going to order one on their website but I can't find any type of model number or serial number on the safe which they apparently need. The key has been lost for a while and I thought it would turn up, but it hasn't and I hate to pry into it as it's a good box. It certainly wouldn't keep anyone out that was determined, but it does keep the kidos out. Anybody know if these keys are unique or if one size fits all or where one might be had? thanks

On the polling.... I still have one land line at the house and I've been getting tons of polling calls. I'm guessing since fewer and fewer folks have phones at home anymore those with them are getting inundated with calls. And you sort of have to think who would still have a home phone? I think it probably throws off any statistical relevancy. My usual method for answering is to tell them I'm an independent, they always ask more questions if you're not affiliated. You can sometimes figure out which candidate is making the call. Then I try and screw the results with my answers. Hopefully the person paying for the polling is loosing their ass (incumbent) or at least the results are skewing their figures. I figure the more I can F-up their numbers the better. The only real poll that counts anyway is on election day. I always tell them I voting for the big O.
