Some commenters here need a history lesson. I expect they will soon get one.

Trace Adkins explains Confederate flag earpiece
seez52 replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
if you had friends or family who fought under the swastika would it still be okay to fly that? Or stick it in your ear as the case may be?
It's sad that people who seemingly are on the side of the south immediately think of these type images when nothing could be farther from the truth. Continuing to make such disgusting connections has put our history in the light many now view it. -
All we want to do is go in peace and form a separate county of sovereign states and start over. We would be glad to develop treaties, trade policies, send ambassadors even share some of our natural resources with our former motherland, but the freedom and liberty of our citizens is not negotiable.

Lots of good comments here, thanks everyone. Yes, having her try them out would be the best solution. Regarding the trigger. I don't see that as a big deal. I've been into J frame Smiths many times, and shouldn't have a problem getting a pretty decent trigger on one. It just seemed to me there was a noticeable difference between grip sizes in the two, and that the LCR seemed to sit higher in your hand and might allow more felt recoil and muzzle flip. I do like the fact that the polymer exterior probably holds up better in the long run appearance-wise than the aluminum.
A brilliant piece by Walter E. Williams - Parting Company http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/2012/11/28/williams-parting-company/?subscriber=1
Never better stated. Our southern ancestors were patriots not traitors, just as their ancestors a generation before. I hate to think we're gonna need a do over.

Had mine out at about 31. Was painful and kept me down for a while, but I was getting strep 2 or 3 times a year. Dr said they were likely always infected and periodically flared up. Could see the pockets of infection on them. Haven't had strep since and that was over 20 yrs ago.

thanks for the feedback, this is actually going to be for a lady. Seemed to me the grip on the Smith might have been a bit smaller. Opinions on having a night sight installed? I think maybe the LCR is the only one with that option.

Looking to get one or the other. Both seem about the same, Smith maybe a little smaller grip. Any preferences here?

GOP leaders seek to avoid repeat of Gun law Fight
seez52 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
On a national level we're pretty much at a pure democracy already considering how many people each rep. Is supposed to represent. Representative govt only works when its small and close to the people. We lost that a long time ago. -
Saw a tag on a gun at gun show today saying "not from Walmart" I think it was a 10/22.

Probably not worth an hour drive, but decent for those local. Prices seemed reasonable not jacked due to the election as i might have expected. NIB AR mags $10 not bad. Got a sweet. deal on some ammo. Quite a few walking around guns and some deals being done

Just shy of secession, states rights, state sovereignty and nullification are our last best hope for saving the nation. It is one of the checks and balances built into our government, it's just not one we've used often enough to remember it. If Mr. Haslam will refrain from setting up insurance exchanges, refrain from expanding medicare coverage there's nothing the feds can do to make us get on obamacare, it's in the SCOTUS opinion, read it. And for your reading enjoyment here is a small excerpt from said SCOTUS rulling: The Framers thus ensured that powers which "in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people were held by governments more local and more accountable than a distant federal bureaucracy. The independent power of the States also serves as a check on the power of the Federal Government: 'By denying anyone government complete jurisdiction over all the concerns of public life, federalism protects the liberty of the individual from arbitrary power' ... In the typical case we look to the States to defend their prerogatives by adopting 'the simple expedient of not yielding' to federal blandishments when they do not want to embrace the federal policies as their own. The States are separate and independent sovereigns. Sometimes they have to act like it." Looks to me like even though we might not have agreed with the obamacare rulling, the justices said: "here you go boys, it's in your court now." There's not a better time to begin flexing our sovereign mite than now. And one last FYI, if obamacare is the law in TN, any of you with individual insurance policies can expect those premiums to double because of the new rules obamacare requires. Chances are you'll be jumping on the government insurance bandwagon toot-sweet. How does that feel?

I'd love to have one, probably a C model though

There was nothing great about Mr. Lincoln other than he presided over the greatest killing of Americans in history. Oh, and he ushered in the foundations of what has us in the unfortunate place we now find ourselves.
Because such can not win the presidency anymore. If you think so, you don't understand the US electorate as now exists. No true conservative will ever be president here again until perhaps after a major internal meltdown; if indeed we're still electing presidents at all after that. - OS
-
It is not possible to hoard guns, period.

I've put 1000s of rounds through my 21a over the years and it's seldom missed a lick. Used to carry it in an ankle holster. At one time it was about all there was unless you wanted to carry a 25acp
