Exactly. And I'm trying to figure out what the Chinese will be contaminating their exported lead with. Everything else we get from them they contaminate with lead, but you just can't contaminate lead with lead it ain't right.

I've got one and if you're planning on having it for emergencies its the only way to go. Mine is actually a gas unit with a propane conversion kit. It will run on either fuel now. Propane does not provide the same amount of energy as gasoline so the rated power output will be less when running on LP. Mine should also run on natural gas but I don't currently have a gas meter capable of providing sufficient flow. I keep about 200 lbs of LP on hand and don't have to worrry about it going bad.

I"m on some of the government liquidation emails and occasionally they list a variety of surplus lead items. Sometimes is sheet stock, bricks and sometimes steel encased lead. Most of it is located on the east coast ship yards. I've always wanted to get some of it, but the lots are usually huge.

I suspect obamamie care has already cut most of these out by 2017--- no worries.

hell, I thought you were talking about tractors! Just fixin to post a photo of my old Massey.

Sierra says most of their lead comes from recycled batteries. I'm guessing it's processed in some way and delivered to them in some standardized format alloy etc. Mostly I've always collected wheel weights for casting, or Linotype back when you could get that. Seems I remember there was some reason why lead from batteries was not recommended for home casting? Anyone remember what the deal was with that? Was it just the acid problem or was there something different about the alloy in batteries that didn't make good bullets?

Thanks for all your suggestions. I really like the peep sight, but not sure whether he'd like it or not. He maybe planning a scope (yuck). I checked around for some .357 ammo and didn't find a huge selection and it was sort of pricey for what you got. Lots of .38 spl. but didn't really want to do that. So, I decided to get him a carbide die set and 100 158 gr. flat nosed slugs. I've probably got 100 rnds of once fired brass and a tray of 100 primers I'll throw in. He already loads for a .45acp, so hopefully he has some powder he can use. This would probably be more once loaded that what I would have spent on ammo, which is gone once you pull the trigger. I'm sure others not familiar with reloading will likely get him ammo anyway.

Having been landlord over a number of properties, there's more for your new landlord to consider than just having to break in a new tenant. It's likely he's going to have to drop some cash into the place after you move out in addition to having it empty for a while. So, you might be in a position to work with him. If he sees that you've taken care of the place, paid your rent on time and can keep status quo, he may work with you on staying. That's what I'd do if financially possible. Good luck.

I'm kinda liking this, I'm thinking it's something he probably wouldn't buy on his own. Any suggested ones?

a friend is getting a Henry 357 rifle for Christmas and I wanted to get him something to go along with it, any suggestions?

This might make me rethink the usefulness of an AR pistol which so far I've never had a hankering for.

Atf has been known to reinterpret previous rullings. This might be a case, sometimes things are grandfathered sometimes not. The wallet holster for the old High Standard 22 mag derringers comes to mind.

Magazines...stored full or empty when on standby?

Being a good establishment Republican, I keep all my magazines half empty just so I won't offend anyone. -
I'm baffled why .223 steel wolf is always more than x39 steel wolf. You'd think the price would at least be the same. But I guess maybe there's more demand for .223. bought some golden tiger just before the big O was elected. Ordered three cases that were delivered on the Friday before the election. Paid $185 per plus shipping. Then everything went to hell. $225 is about the best you'll find now.

I've gotten in to the direct from china low buck units. I'm sure the lumens are way over rated but they are pretty dern bright regardless. Most of mine use the rechargeable 18750 batteries. Most I've paid is $12. No comparison to surefires etc. But I've been enjoying them never the less.

I never remember my dad pulling into the Lion station and telling the attendant to put more tan 2 bucks in our old Chevy truck.

You may have to go before the board of zoning appeals to satisfy atf. I was at one of their meetings in wilson county for another matter and a guy was there trying to get them to approve him for a home ffl. In the discussion it became apparent the issue had come up numerous times recently and some of the board members were getting tired of being the "gun dealer police". He was approved 3 to 2. They sort of decided to look into a standard policy going forward.

Proof pretty much the 22 ammo thing is about over

I don't know them and never been in their store, but I'm kinda thinking I hope they choke on 'em -

I can't think of any county that's going to approve 2 building permits on one tract. Might get away with it if there is an old house already on the property and you can convince them its not going to be used. Usually each dwelling will require a min 50 ft access to a public road even if that access is not actually used for access.
