  1. Has anybody seen and self defense 38 special ammo on the shelf lately? If you can find any it's either 158 RNL or 135 fmj. I shoot mostly reloads but would like to have some factory SD ammo.
  2. I've carried a variety on the tractor over the years. When bushogging it's common to see field mice and a lot of times rats run away and have thought it would be fun to shoot at them. Considered a Judge, but decided I'd need to be pretty fast and with a big tractor to contend with I'd probably not be much good at hitting them anyway. I also often have coyotes come follow behind the tractor, and they can get pretty close. They don't seem to notice me driving it. I've sort of settled on a Keltec PMR30 and have a surplus holster that fits it pretty good mounted right under the steering wheel. Shot one yote a couple of years ago with it while bushogging.
  3. I have one of the ATN models. It's a couple of years old and I know they have a newer version now. I've taken several yotes with it and it's good out to about 125-150 yards. I have mine mounted to a 20" AR .223 and it's dropped all of them with one shot. I like that it can be used in the daytime as well. The big con for mine is that it's heavy. I think the newer ones are lighter. It uses 4AA batteries and I purchased the Kental rechargeables and they work nice. You just need to keep them charged. I don't keep the batteries connected when not in use and that seems to work better. I keep the battery cover loose. I also purchased a separate IR light off amazon that is mounted to the gun and has a pressure switch. I think it was about $30 and really lights up the area.

    PSA Dagger

got an email yesterday showing $299 when I checked the website they were still in stock but decided I had enough glock style guns already. Got another email today showing $350 but didn't check the status. The mag fitment is pretty wonky.
  5. My son is wanting a smoker. I know nothing about them. He wants an electric one and one that can be left unattended. I think the pellet style is what he's wanting. And of course he would like all the bells and whistles of a phone connection etc. I'm sure there are some members here with experience using these. Any suggestions as to what would work well?
  6. There are some vids on YouTube. One gun has a pile of brass 2 and a half feet tall and three feet around. Heard there was a massive crowd and hours waiting to get in.
  7. How was the firing line? Lots of folks there shooting? I wanted to go, but did find anyone here that really wanted to make the trip. I've been a couple times in the past and just decided that maybe it was better remembering the way it was than experiencing it today. It was certainly one of a kind.
  8. Don't spread this around too much, all the yankees moving in here will be voting to change the laws so more roads can be built quicker.
  9. some of this took place at Metro Nashville Police some years ago. Not sure if it was stopped our not. I saw many ziplocks with everything except the frame.
  10. Anybody ever use one of these? Thoughts https://www.seeallopensight.com/ https://youtu.be/jyrAhcpARqM
  11. One of my favorites! I've got two of them. Pretty dang accurate as I'v made consistent hits at 100 yards. They really fling the brass. If using surplus ammo be sure to do a thorough cleaning as even ammo listed as non corrosive will still be somewhat corrosive. They are great shooters and they are very well made with a roller locking breech. My thumb will sometimes engage the safety under recoil so make note. Too bad there's no more 10cent ammo for them anymore.
  12. So where do the stickers go? Aren't there usually two, one that shows the month of expiration, and another that show the year of expiration?
  13. yep, reminds me of the new york plate.
  14. Academy in Cookeville had large pistol a couple weeks ago. $10/100 400 limit.
  15. They have them stockpiled waiting for chips. Keep your powder dry, I see a huge new car buying opportunity before long. I'm sort of needing one as well, but plan to wait a while.
  16. The mini shells are not reliable in my 870. I wish they were. I don't see any way to fix it either.
  17. This is the one I have. It's available elsewhere if you don't like Amazon. It's just easier to get a link there. https://www.amazon.com/Dakota-Alert-MAPS-BS-Kit/dp/B00KX032S4/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=dakota+alert+murs&qid=1621122605&sprefix=Dakota+alert&sr=8-5
  18. No, it uses an underground sensor. The MURS refers to the frequency it transmits the signal on. MURS will do a longer distance that some. My sensor is almost half mile from my base station and through some dense woods and not line of sight. It's right on the edge of working. I just put a better antenna on it and that has helped. I also just converted it off the 123 batteries to an external gel cell. Don't know yet how long it's going to last on a charge but those 123s were getting pricey and would only last about 3 months. Less in the winter.
  19. We have a Dakota MURS system. Our driveway is about 2400' and we installed it just off the road. We have a gravel drive with tactical potholes so it takes newcomers a little over a minute to get to the house. Plenty of time to "get ready." Have used it for several years. Originally had a wired version closer to the house, but lightening was bad about frying the electronics. This one has been much better. I actually have it tied into a Homeseer system so I get a text message anytime it's activated in addition to the chime.
  20. I was thinking he looked familiar, but couldn't place him. That's funny.
  21. And if I were him I'm thinking I wished I had a bigger gun. I imagine he was heckled about that.
  22. The video I saw also shows Mr. Fancy pants motioning with his left hand to the crowd to come closer, but you can't see his right hand.
  23. With today's market you should probably move forward. If the down spouts are the trouble and often they are, it can take a long time for the moisture level to get back to normal. If you did smell a musty odor you're probably OK. I had to paint some of my block on the inside with that ugh waterproof paint. Did the trick but was a pain to prep.
