  1. I have two of them and they are great shooting pistols. Sometimes the safety will kick on under recoil when it hits my thumb knuckle. They are pretty accurate as I can consistently make hits at 100 yds. The spent cases will fly 20+ feet! Wish the surplus ammo was still cheap. Bought a bunch at 10 cents a round, the guns were cheap back then too. I have one of the holsters attached to my tractor and it holds a KelTec PMR30 perfectly.
  2. reminds me of some of the old High Standard 22 revolvers.
  3. The Remingtons would't be too bad, those Colts, now that would be handful-- literally. Josey Wales does a hot swap in one of the scenes, and it's with a Remington.

    Cornbread

Lots of good recipes here. My mom always used about as much flour as she did cornmeal. One thing no one has mentioned is making fried up corn pones. They are tasty and are quick and easy to whip up. I do these a lot of times just because they only take a few minutes to prepare and cook.
  5. dang, I wish this were a larger frame size I've been looking for an ebike

    Cornbread

My mother almost always cooked her cornbread on the top of the stove in a cast iron skillet rather than in the oven. In summer it was too hot to turn the oven on and in general it cost more to heat the oven if cornbread is all you're cooking. she would cover the skillet for the first part of the cook, then use a dinner plate to slip under the half baked bread and quickly flip the bread over to cook on the other side leaving the lid off from this point on. Doing the flip is a bit tricky and I've never been able to master it. I know she always did it over the sink, just in case. The best thing about it was that you got two crunchy sides! The recipe on the back of the corn meal mix works fine if you leave out that damn sugar!
  7. I've got a 1892 carbine in 25-20 that was my uncles from way back. He bought it new around 1913. It's a great shooter but I don't shoot it much. I have some ammo about the same vintage as those on the auction site and it seems like the brass has gotten hard over time and many of the necks split when shot so they are no good for reloading. There was a box of new ammo on the shelf at the lgs a while back. Marked at $65. This was way before the ammo pandemic. I looked at it several times but could never make myself buy it. I later decided that I should, and when back to find someone else had snapped it up.
  8. Hard to beat the harbor freight ones when they run them on sale. Had a pair that lasted real good until I had to pull up a house fully of old carpet. That carpet backing really took a toll and they were worn out. I cut the finger tips out and now I look like the cool guys on TV, LOL. I have a tough time finding the XXL size. Sometimes the harbor freight ones fit, sometimes not. They do sell some at Home depot that come in xxl and they actually last pretty good, about $15.
  9. Slabs are pretty popular these days if your lot will accommodate, and it's generally cheaper to build. Most spec builder neighborhoods are all on slabs. Most of the time these days supply lines are pex and often sleeved so a repair is not horrible. Drain lines don't usually cause a problem since there is no pressure. I've looked at a lot of houses and for a retirement home I might just go with a slab. I built 18 years ago and did crawl space and it has worked out well. Makes it easy to see all the mechanicals, you can add new wiring etc pretty easily, unless it's a belly crawl space. I would definitely go with slab if it's going to be a belly crawl height. Also with a slab there is no concern with potential mold and not too much to worry about with termites if you have the grade correctly set.
  10. I try not to do business with BOA for this and similar shenanigans, although the car dealer of my recent purchase financed my new car through BOA. I'm going to pay if off shortly.
  11. I remember during the last great gun control scheme these were going for 100 bucks+ each!
  12. I'd say pause is the key word. And while I prefer cash, kinda hard to do online.
  13. Looks Iike the Algimated bank has successfully implemented a new merchant t code singling out firearms dealers. Discover card has announced they will begin tracking purchases and reportedly sending those to a government agency. I have had a Discover card since the late 80s, but I'm ready to cancel my account. Are there any cards that are not going to be implementing this reporting scheme? https://reason.com/2023/03/06/banks-increasingly-back-political-scheme-to-track-gun-purchases-by-credit-card/
  14. I remain, Rusty Shackleford.
  15. I will take 3 of your 5k lrg pistol primers. I don't really need any powder. Can meet you in Gallatin if that's convenient. I'll send you a pm
  16. I've not powder coated any before. Have always used the old fashioned swager with stick lube. Are you sizing the slugs before powder coating or just coating them as cast? I have only cast pistol bullets. Have done it for years although none recently.
  17. I had considered getting my 7mm TCU barrel threaded and putting a stock on it to see how well it would work suppressed.
  18. I was thinking that even with a longer barrel it would still be illegal to put a regular stock on it. Something to do with it being originally manufactured as a "pistol." I believe there is an adapter for a brace available and less than 16" would be perfectly fine with that.
  19. Looks like the Wilson County Fair will be tempting fate this year. Officials say all gates this year will be equipped with high frequency metal detectors positioned as a new safety enhancement. No guns/weapons will be allowed on the premises
  20. this is another one of those cases where ATF changed their mind creating problems where there were none before.
  21. Just curious if anyone went? Looked like a ton of people there when I drove by on Saturday mid morning. Haven't been to one there in a while. Same ole same ole?
  22. I think mine is probably 15 years old. What does the style you're wanting look like?
