  1. at one time someone was selling flats for those and there was a jig with a waiting list going around that you could use to bend it. But that's been a while and a lot of the building game, other than ARs, has really died off.
  2. Alien Gear, I've got two of them. Very nice steel reinforced and a good price. Takes bout 6 weeks.
  3. nice, looks to be in good shape.
  4. So far the 308 I bought has performed better than my handloads.
  5. I know some of you here are into security installations and cameras and I have a couple of questions. Here's what I've got:   I have a fairly long drive that I'd like to monitor. Currently I have a wireless sensor that lets me know a vehicle has been detected, but sometimes I'd like to see what's coming rather than just waiting on it. The sensor is probably 2200 ft. as the crow flies.   Camera location would be too far for cat5, it's probably about 800 ft. There is no power at the camera location so it would need to be solar. I do have a single pair of wires to the location, they are about 18ga if I remember correctly and about 800 ft. long.   What I'd like to do is be able to view an image or video when the sensor trips. Wondering if some sort of wifi repeater might work if that's possible. Not sure what type of power the repeaters require. And of course there's the issue of the whole system working in such a way so that the images are available in near real time.   Is this possible?
  6. I've seen them advertised for $850, don't know the final outcome.
  7. we call them "pervert in a truck"
  8. It would work find for installing the barrel assuming you have a press. I think I ended up making one from some scrap.
  9. excellent you'll love it! We need pictures!!
  10. bought a 22mag a month or two ago, haven't gotten to shoot it yet. but I have hope
  11. .223 Contender pistol will set it off.
  12. their online suggestion for sizing on an IWB was not correct for either me or my son. I ended up giving mine to him, which was 2" larger and returned his to gett the correct size for myself. They were real good about the exchange. Unfortunately the post office lost the replacement and they had to ship me another one.  Should get it next week. For IWB I settled on 4" over pant size I didn't want to use the last hole in the belt.
  13. it's at the county fairgrounds, Ward Agricultural Center.   I have wondered about free parking. As far as I know there has never been a charge for parking at any event there. But I wouldn't put it past the county to try and tack on a parking charge to pubic events. The new expo center is going to be a huge money pit and they may decide to try and make some of it up.
  14. For what its worth, looks like the Bill Goodman gun show is coming to Lebanon's new event center. First show is scheduled for January 2017 and additional dates have been reserved. I haven't been to one of those shows in years though I used to go regularly. It's got to be better than the pitiful show that's been here for the past couple of years.   I'm guessing this will be his new location having been thrown out of Nashville.
  15. Ran some plain white rice through the blender for a couple quick button presses then plug it up with a wax plug. Just using primers no powder
  16. I used the one shot for a while, got a case stuck with it then moved to the homemade lanolin and high content alcohol. It satisfies my cheap streak.
  17. If you haven't already you should check out the akfiles.com lots of good folks over there and tons of info. It's probably settled down some now but in the heyday of ak building it was a pretty active place. I purchased bits and pieces of tooling from members there.
  18. that's about the only option. I had to do a little extra fitting on a couple of mine when using plastic magazines. Seems the thicker lips pushed up on the  bolt carrier keeping it from hooking the disconnector causing it to double occasionally
  19. I think the only one you will really need to snug up will be the center rivet. Possibly the rear trunion. I used the press tool on the center and rear. You might be able to rig up something using a c-clamp or one of those wide jaw vise grips used for welding.    You will find you press comes in handy for putting the barrel in and out.
  20. the bolt cutter outfit is the easiest to use on the front trunion. I used a press on the center rivet and the rear. The thing is you need to tighten everything up before squishing the rivet. The tool I had allowed you to apply pressure on the receiver holding everything tight then a ram for squishing the rivet. The bolt had a center hole all the way through for the ram.
  21. dang I'd swap you if you weren't in clarksville
  22. You'll need to be a mechanic. Even though they maybe exact knockoffs the materials they are made of is inferrior. Poor quality metal etc. And if you check into the number of traumatic brain injuries caused by 4 wheelers in children you'd probably change your mind.
  23. man that really sucks. I've not seen any double rivets like that and the weld is strange.
  24. Looks like it's a 32 long, first model with a swing out cyl.   http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com/2014/01/happy-early-birthday-to-me.html
  25. did you notice how much it was going for?
