  1. Our family officially went uninsured this year when our bcbs policy went for $775/mo to $1440 on ACA. With the $6000 deductible our out of pocket would have been around $25K before they kicked anything in. Unless of course I wanted to go to rehab for my drug habit, but really with this cost of insurance I've decided to just remain addicted. It would also pay for any abortion I might find myself needing, and that's important since I really can't remember what I'm doing while I'm smoking crack. So all in all I've come out pretty good and saved myself a ton of money. I hardly ever used my insurance anyway. Bcbs was making decent money on my policy but not anymore. Sounds like my policy this next year would top $2200/ month. Sorry sukkers, ain't playing yo game no mo.
  2. P32s are great. Ive got two of them, one with serial less than 200. It was a special order through the KTOG website when they introduced it a bunch of years ago. They really do shoot good and decently accurate for such a small gun. In the summer I carry one every day. The other is my wife's she does not carry hers as much. It has a grey grip with hard chromed slide. The only thing that has been a bit of a surprise was the .32 ammo. A few years ago I decided to shoot a couple of holes in a 55 gal. burn barrel since I didn't have anything else to punch holes with. To my surprise it would not penetrate even with FMJ. Made a good dent, but wouldn't go thru. After the first shot I decided I was way too close if it ain't going through!
  3. There is some interest in the newer version of the Chevy Impalas that have rear wheel drive. Some still have front but the ones with rear wheel are of interest to enthusiast drivers. There aren't many available yet as they have only been out a couple of years. They have LS engines and are built off the GTO platform. My son was telling me about them and I don't recall all the details but they sounded like a pretty good basis for building a real sleeper.
  4. There are lots of people who like iphones, but I'm just not into all the apple sauce that comes along with them. I'm too far invested in anything but apple so I can't go back now. My son switched over to an Iphone on his last upgrade having Samsungs previously. He won't say whether he's glad he did or not.
  5. The next question I suppose is what case? I've used the Seidio cases which come with a holster and I like having a holster. They do make one for the s7, but it's apparently different from previous cases.
  6. I had heard the same complaint with the 7 edge so I was going to stay away from it. Can't imagine I'd use the edge feature much either. I'd probably enjoy the note, but just can't see having such a big phone. I looked briefly at some of the other brands, LG etc. And at the new Motorola but it just didn't seem as nice. Guy at the store said you could put a boom box on the back. I'm thinking what the h--- would I want to do that for it's a phone. Then he says you can put an extra size battery. Well, yes you can but then it's like carrying around a small brick. I've been with Verizon since they bought out Bellsouth back in the 90s. Had a mounted car phone, then a giant hand held that weighed a ton. I guess I could buy a phone somewhere outright, but they are doing the monthly without interest so that seems not too bad.
  7. My contract will be up with Verizon in a couple of weeks so I'm planning on getting a new phone. I've swapped around with others in the family on upgrades so I haven't had a new one in about 4 years. Mine now is a Motorola Droid Maxx. Has worked great and still does, but it's just a little slow and behind the times no doubt. Looks like everyone is going with a Samsung these days. I don't want anything huge, but do want one that snappy and a decent battery life. Any experiences here on a good phone? I know some people swap phones all the time but I tend to get one and hang onto it.
  8. I bought a surplus Polish flare gun a few years ago when they were selling for 20 bucks. Didn't really know what I'd do with it, but for the price thought it would be a nice piece. It's actually very well made with a nice blued finish. I bought some 26.5mm flares for it at the creek, and they will put a whammy on your wrist.
  9. had to turn it off. The initial light show was pretty neat.
  10. coop in Lebanon is out. There's a store on Hwy 70 just west of town that had some a few weeks back, but it was real pricey. Stations close to the lake will often carry it.
  11. the beginning your "common sense gun laws"
  12. there won't be any common sense on her common sense "reforms" it will be Katy bar the door
  13. I'm in Middle TN but send me a PM I'll answer what I can.
  14. I've had good luck with the Alien Gear. Sturdy, steel center nice and stiff.
  15. Longing for the days of the TN. Gun Collectors Assoc. shows at the fairgrounds. Only had them twice a year and nothing but guns. No jerky, no gutters and if you had a knife on the table you were politely told to put it away.
  16. The new expo center has the potential to be a great venue. Lots of parking. We'll see how they configure the display floor and if the promoters can fill it up.
  17. Just saw a run down of bookings for the new expo center in Lebanon. There is no less than three different gun shows booked beginning in NOV 2016. RK, Goodman and one called the Great Southern (I think) plus an outdoor/hunting show of some sort. Hoping we'll see something better than we've had here before. This would be a great central location for a truly outstanding show if some promoter would just jump on. I don't see that from Goodman or RK, unfortunately.
  18. unless you're planning to spend mucho bucks I think they are all Chinese jacks. I think that's the the same one I have and it's been a good one. probably had it for 3-4 years
  19. that's the only way it would work. they will pass universal checks, then "discover" that you first need to know where all the guns are so the checks are effective. And universal background checks sound so benign.
  20. nothing wrong with AKs. They are more fun to build than ARs. I wish they were more accurate. I put a scope on one I built to try and see what it would do. Maybe with some good commercial ammo or hand loads it would do better, but I was never able to get much better than about 5 inches at 100 yds. I still like them though.
  21. Maybe they would allow them to be distributed to the gay and lesbian community, looks like they are going to need it.
  22. when dropped by BCBS due to obamacare and then discovering a comparable exchange policy was going to be $1400/month for my family I choose to enroll in Medishare a Christian medical sharing coop. My "premium" is less than I was paying, and could be even less if I wanted a higher deductible, and since the program has been in place for sometime prior to obammy care it has been grandfathered in and I am exempt from the tax penalty. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
  23. saw him one time in a restaurant, probably 20+ years ago. Had to lead around and couldn't cut up his own food. Was really pitiful, I felt sorry for him.
  24. I am John Galt, and I refuse to buy their insurance and will not pay their penalty. “Do not let the hero in your soul parish, in lonely frustration, for the life you deserved but never have been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.”
  25. Gallatin gun club is NRA only. Last time I heard the waiting list was about 3 years. Like it or not, the NRA is the 800 pound gorilla when it comes to the second amendment and I'm glad as to which side they are on.
