    WWII 1911 Question

im in a MP unit so we all get pistols as a sidearm.
  2. thanks for the info. i will look for some of that.
  3. thats what i figured but i was commenting as to FlashGordons comment on 8 year old gas with PriG
  4. will the same work for Sta-Bil if you treat annually? or is it a one time use kind of thing?
  5. id be interested as well, maybe for next year though. might be a good deal for an enterprising person out east.
  6. i use a RCBS Rangemaster 750 scale. its their cheaper, smaller scale. its great and accurate. it is also a digital. not sure how much the 505 goes for but i think i paid 100 for my digital.
  7. we had one a couple tanks on the farm i worked on growing up. one ws gas and the other was diesel. if you can get the ok for that, it is a decent bit cheaper when you buy in bulk and the Co-op will deliver it to you.
  8. welcome from another Tennesseean and MP here at Campbell. Stay safe over there.
  9. i believe StaBil is good for up to a year. i keep 25-30 gallons on hand most of the time. i rotate it out in my vehicles every 3-4 months with no additives. if you want true long term, id go with a diesel.
  10. i was looking at a Remington 1100 Tactical +4. its about 750 new but its my favorit shotgun. id go with a used 1100.
  11. been thinking about a foam mattress as well. i just bout a pillow top coil mattress, dont remember the brand, and its already giving me problems. had it for maybe 6 months? now my lower back hurts all the time. i have broken my pelvis in a couple places and had shoulder surgery so it makes sleping interesting as it is. maybe the foam will help?
  12. How could i miss this thread all month long and not know about the Match? i guess ive taken a break from the range for far too long. Is there going to be another one anytime soon?
  13. have been looking into a crossbow as well. just havent put the money into one as i dont hunt that often. i do hope to change that though.
  14. care to share details? PM me if you want.
  15. ill be taking my Mossberg 535 with some slugs Fort Campbell allows muzzleloader and shotguns all season, even bow season. also, i cant bowhunt as i have shoulder issues.

    22lr Handgun

another conversion kit vote. i had a glock that was the king of conversions. it was a Gock 35 that originally shot .40, had a 9mm barrel and a .22lr conversion kit for it as well. i also had a MarkIII but it wasnt as close to what i was used to shooting for me to really like it. it was a great and dependable gun. crazy accurate and boringly reliable.
  18. thanks for the info. im thinking about getting a Garand to keep my M1A Scout company
  19. I am specifically looking for a range that will allow me to do more draw and shoot or move and shoot practice. ive got a couple different ranges that i attend but they are the typical leave your gun on the table and shoot 1 round at a time. i am an experienced military policeman and have done lots of combative shooting but havent been able to find a civilian range that will allow me to do the same. i know there are shooting competitions and such but i would prefer my practice time to not be in a competition. i will move to that as well but would prefer to have more fun and get more out of my training time. any ranges i should be looking at in middle TN? shooting clubs i should join?
  20. there will be a tiny difference between different manufacturers like anything else. just watch out for magnum primers like stated above.

  23. wish i could help you out but the drive would be a full day round trip
  24. i called 8 or so "bottling companies" here in clarksville but they are more of a distributor and dont have any barrels. i may have to check out Beaman. thanks
