  1. i have done pretty much anything except plumbing and now i have two issues im hoping someone can walk me through or point me in the right direction. first is my guest bathroom sink. the hot water sidem when turned off, will run at almost half speed. the cold water shuts off normally and the hot water randomly started doing this one day. right now i just have it shut off at the valve under the sink so its cold water only. everything ive found online so far was how to stop the handles from leaking. my other issue is my master shower. its dripping at a steady 1 dripp per second. normally we had to crank down on the handle, not overly tight but just second check it. last night it started dripping and i muffled it by laying a towel in the floor of the shower over night to get some sleep but now its continuing and is very annoying. everything i found online was how to fix a one knob "cartridge" shower from leaking at the handle. i have a two knob shower and its dripping steadily through the head.
  2. ive had an AK, AR, a mossberg ATR100 and a Remington 700. my gun i finally settled on is a Springfield Armory Scout/Squad. it does it all and out to 600 easily. the AK is limited to about 250 or so if its a decent one and the good ones arent much cheaper than a mini or cheap AR. they also make a mini in 6.8 if you want a new round. a Garand is pretty cheap as well. you can get one through CMP for 500 and up.
  3. i really like it but ive been thinking about down sizing the whole rig a bit. might go with an ATS chest rig. back when i was going overseas it made sense to carry alot of stuff. now id like to carry half as much. the ATS rig carried 4 mags side by side so it doesnt hang out too far. you can add pistol pouches and such to its molle exterior. most of the other stuff goes into a pack now.
  4. i carried a 19 and a glock 35 in my MTAC slide. it was great.
  5. i have a custom Tactical Tailor two piece MAV that has a hydration resevoir and holds 8 M14 mags, 4 1911 mags, a med pouch and two utility pouches. its all in woodland camo.
  6. Springfield Armory M1A Scout/Squad or my Mossberg 535 with slugs
  7. the more i look around, the more im thinking more along the lines of romantic cabins for a getaway. this will be around our 3rd anniversary but the first i will not be deployed.
  8. is the 7 grains of unique a hot load or middle range?
  9. i used to be fairly big into glock talk over the last couple years but the forum in general has gone downhill a bit. the old crew have moved on to other forums.
  10. i have been researching some of these places online but wanted to get some input from experienced patrons if possible. i am looking for a friday through sunday type of thing to surprise my wife. she has been wanting to get away for awhile and i figured id get a weekend paid for when i get my bonus check in december. might be a good trip for either her birthday in february or our anniversary in may. she does like to go trail riding on horseback. we have recently sold our horses so maybe a mountain trail ride would be good? also would like to stay in a nice place with decent rooms and dining to take advantage of the us time. it is also necessary to have her dog come with us as hes a service animal and she wont leave home without him. i have been looking specifically at the dancing bear lodge. any experience?
  11. would a .45acp in 1911 be okay for deer or hogs if kept within 35-40 yards? which bullets would you shoot? i do handload so im thinking more of a hardcast or TXP etc...
  12. i am looking into this as a possible hunting tool as well as stated above because i have trouble with my shoulders if i shoot too big of a long gun. about 2 or 3 shotgun slugs is all i can take in a day before i go numbe from the shoulder down. i was looking at the Taurus Raging Bull as well. i was debating the .44Mag but i shoot a 1911 as well and like the 45 bullet. i was looking at getting a SAA in 45LC but was liking the 454 as it will shoot both 45 and 454. i like to keep my shots within 50-75 yards so maybe ill do fine with a 45LC or 44Mag?
  13. i currently live in clarksville and have been doing the handyman thing for awhile now. i was wanting to get certified as an electrician and had a couple questions. what does it take to get certified? and where can i go to get certified in middle TN?
  14. have been comtemplating getting a true big bore revolver for possible deer hunting and range time. i do reload so the cost of ammo wouldnt be as bad and i am thinking about casting this year also. i really like the 460 as it shoots 454 and 45lc as well but its expensive. although 250yards is respectable in a revolver. those of you who have one, what do you use it for? is it scoped? do you hunt with it? whats the farthest shot youve made with it?

    Sage EBR stocks

there are also VLTOR and CM Manufacturing that uses a modifiey USGI fiberglass stock and have folders as well. the McMillan MSF-14 is a nice option as well for a folder but requires bedding and is almost the same as the SAGE, although its a folder and it is alot lighter.

    Sage EBR stocks

the troy is decent. there was a guy out at montgomery county shooting complex with one. he says it gets mistaken for an AR10 often and i could easily see how. i too would like to get a Sage stock for my Scout. its what the DMRs are using overseas now as well. it is pricey but when you look at getting any other good stock such as one from mcmillan and then getting it bedded and such, it all washes out to almost equal. for all M14 related info, id check out www.M14TFL.com
  17. midsouth shooters supply here in clarksville has some unique in stock. its listed as low stock. the bullseye is listed as backordered.
  18. my next 5 in no particular order would be LRB M25 rifle Ruger GP100 Remington 1100 Tactical +4 Ruger Vaquero .45LC Smith 340PD most of this will be put on hold until i get a few parts and an optic on my SAI M1A Scout and customize my SAI MilSpec Stainless 1911, as well as stocking up on reloading components to feed them.
  19. Just got medically retired from the Army. currently installing flooring as it comes, nothing too busy. starting school this spring semester to be a RN.
  20. ive heard before that some will give a decent discount on reloading supplies if you have a C&R on file with them.
  21. anyone know if MidSouth gives a discount to C&R holders?
  22. definately dont get the "short timers disease" most of the ied attacks i had to clean up or back up for security of disabled vehicles were guys with less than a month to go.

    WWII 1911 Question

i wish i could have had my 1911 and m14 over there. had to get one of each for myself when i got home.
  24. gonna drop by tomorrow to pick up the regs. i will be on terminal leave through most of the season so it will be easy enough to have the days off still working on the 600 acres i may be able to hunt on out in woodlawn. they are harvesting all the tobacco right now.
  25. I have been trying to find a local place to hunt that may be decent but am thinking about getting on Ft. Campbell to hunt. i know there are a few hoops to jump through to be able to do it, but is it worth it? I do know that their deer season is open to shotguns and muzzleloaders throughout the state archery season and such. anything else i should be aware of?
