the milspec is a little more difficult to shoot than a TRP for me as well. i believe it to be the military type trigger and rougher sights. a well tuned trigger makes it alot easier to shoot well.

i feel the 1911 is the most comfortable gun to shoot for me. there is a reason that 100 years after its creation, its still one of the most popular guns out there. the trigger is what all other guns wish they could have, short, crisp movement. i will agree that it is addicting though. i got my SA Mil Spec back in august and will be picking up my TRP next month. and i thought my m14 was gonna take up all of my cash.

i will give another recommendation for Missouri Bullet Co. i get 200gr LSWC from them for my 1911. shoot great with 6.0gr of unique. i used them in the past for 125gr LRN in 9mm as well. will be looking at them again soon for more 45s and my upcoming 38spl.

isnt there a class that uses 30 caliber military rifles and pump shotguns? thought i heard that before.

i have a SS mil spec and love it. great guns.

most ive seen use a glock, AR and semi auto shotgun. you can use a pump shotgun as well but it will slow you down. id get a full size glock 9mm, 17 or 34, a cheap mil spec AR with a reddot and a Mossberg 930. that should be a good mid level entry setup. start with a remington 870 pump to save a couple hundred. if you want a good start into the competition side of things, look into IDPA for pistol comps and start there. i shot my first match out at rattlesnake ridge in woodlawn last month. it was a blast. i too would like to get into 3 gun but i have a pump shotgun and a M14 bush rifle. i would definately be at a disadvantage but would feel better with my weapons of choice. i like the competitions but, like in IDPA, i do it for the handling skills and fun more than to win. at least thats what i tell myself until i get better

i had a buddy ask me the same. i offered to teach him to reload and now we split bulk buys on components

Glock 17 w/.22lr conversion 1911 .45acp w/.22lr conversion Mossberg 500 12ga, 18" IC, 26" Accuchoke, 24" rifled M14/M1A .308 AR with multiple uppers, 14.5' M4 profile, dedicated .22lr, Ferret .50BMG i think this may be considered cheating but i think it covers most options

any idea what the backup gun list entails? probably a glock 27? trying to decide is i want a 27 or 26. wife has a 9mm glock, i have a 1911 so if i can carry a 27 as a BUG to the 22 great. if not, ill get the 26.

i just called the recruiter today and am doing my app and getting paperwork together this weekend. how does the academy work? do they run multiple classes? or one after the other? whats the realistic hiring time? 4-6 months?

i am looking to get onto the Nashville Metro PD but was curious as to which sidearm they carry? i assumed it is probably a Glock 22 but would like to check in with someone who knows. anyone here at Metro currently? PM me if you would rather.

clarksville has a few. i got nailed for a ticket once. i passed the white line .005 seconds after the light turned red, at least thats what the ticket said. didnt want to slam on the brakes in the rain so i bit the bullet on that one. kind of stupid i think. i think 80% of the tickets come from the light right infront of post in the morning when everyone is late and traffic sucks.

ive noticed my smokes going out about 2/3 through. im a slower smoker as i like to enjoy them a bit. its been pretty annoying. maybe this is what i got as well? seems like the paper is slower to burn and it smothers them.

this guy has turned out to be really good. like i posted above though, beware of people who dont know what they are doing. there is another one on campbellyardsales.com who may or may not be certified to trim nails but is coming across as a troubled dog rehab trainer.

their phone number is 270-839-1644 or 702-339-3790. they work alot off of referrals so they get more serious people interested. tell them that Travis Broyles referred you.

I have been looking for a trainer for my dogs for quite awhile. after a dozen or so supposed trainers ive talked to that i could have taught a few things to, i finally found a great trainer. All State K9/Executive Protection Dogs is the name of the place. it is run by Dan /nicholson and Breonna Davis out in Hopkinsville. they are very knowledgable and can train anything from basic sit and stay to Shutzhund training, which will cover search and bite training. they are trying to get a Shutzhund club going in the area as well. they are very good poeple and are more than willing to work with their clients. they are splitting some of the training at their facility as well as coming to our home so the dog can be more familiar with the place as well. they also understand that you have to train the owners as well and are very patient with you to get you to be able to handle your dogs as well. their prices are very competitive and more than reasonable. we just started with our initial evaluation of our two GSDs yesterday. they worked with our dogs and designed a 6 week training program for both of our dogs. they treat each one individually so it is very customized training for our needs. they didnt push either dog into anything that was too uncomfortable for them at all. they always use positive reinforcement so that the dogs are more willing to work and protect you. they arent scared into doing right like some other training regements. they are out in hopkinsville currently but do alot of work in the fort campbell and clarksville area. im sure they would be more than willing to work with others a little farther out as well.

im looking for a tax person that can answer a few questions about work related tax deductions. may also be looking for a bookkeeper or accountant as well so i dont get too messed up as this will be my first year subcontracting and getting a 1099. thanks in advance.

thats unfortunate. i guess thats why we could never shoot without our IBA in combat gear or in our Level IIIA vests when qualifying for road duty as a MP.

im gonna go out for the first time this sunday. i was told about it by another RSO at montgomery county shooting complex. just trying to get more insight as to what i should expect. called and talked to someone at the range today and he was very helpful as well. im really looking forward to it.
-
but they are worth it. you think they are expensive, try getting a LRB forged rifle...
-
welcome to TGO. which range have you been shooting at?
-
get one of each and report back to us

i talked myself into paying almost 2K for a M1A several months ago. might pick up a $500 AR to make me feel a bit better.

for the shotgun slugs, you have to use the rifle range. the distances are 50, 75, and 100 meters. the side area for shotguns is for shot only.
