i completely understand that i will have to get reaccustomed to a new edc weapon, but i just want something bigger than the 380.
-
^thanks for the info! I'm looking to spend 450~550. Do you carry your sp IWB?
-
also, what are the, if any, reliability issues on revolver vs semi auto?
-
thanks for the input so far, i forgot to add my main carry position will be pocket or IWB, both are options for me. If i do end up getting the sp101, it will most definately be IWB. Im just wondering how comfortable it will be. I guess that depends alot on the holster

well in the hunt for more firepower, i am passing my little taurus tcp 380 down to my wife. so tomorrow I am going shopping for a new EDC handgun! The problem I'm having in a decision, is for some reason, even though I have NEVER owned or even shot one, I've got the bug to try a compact revolver. The ruger sp101 really catches my eye, I would like to have a 357, but a 40 or above will be fine. My other top choice is a glock 27 or 33. I realize these guns are quite a bit bigger than what im used to carrying, the little 380, but with more firepower comes more size, I understand that. Now, I need some of you guys who have carried BOTH revolvers and semi autos to chime in here and tell me some of your opinions on revolver vs semi auto for EDC. It seems to me a revolver would be a little more hassle to carry than a semi just because of the wheel alone, but that may not be the case. Again I have NEVER owned, carried, or even shot a revolver (i cant believe it either), so your opinions mean alot!

first pic is 10 rounds at 50 yards, second pic is at 100 yards. using federal/lake city xm193 55 gr. optic is vortex strikefire. shooting off of a sandbag with a 14.7 inch barrel (permanently pinned flashider).the orange sticker on the paper target is about 3". Considering I was shooting off a sandbag, im happy with it. shot 100 rnds out of it

I agree with you 110%. I can only hope these people get whats coming to them, and that justice is paid for this little girl's life.

http://news.yahoo.com/2-charged-death-ala-girl-forced-run-082216169.html In Alabama. This poor girl, over freaking candy bars!!! I see stuff like this and just wonder what kind of mindset these people have to be in to force a poor child to do something like this. I dont think I could ever tell my daughter "Go outside and run till I tell you to stop." Especially not over a candy bar...

Anybody going to Gunshow today in chattanooga
reed1285 replied to plank white's topic in Events and Gatherings
I went this morning, ended up picking up 500 rounds of 5.56 for 150 bucks. That was the first one I had been to in a longgg time. It was pretty decent. Too small of a building though, kinda cramped. -
well after 6 rounds of skeet today, 150 rounds of 12 guage, my cheek is sore and tender like I got into a fight with a boxer. I need suggestions on some sort of cheek protection before my next bout next Friday. Ive seen the stick on one that kick eez makes, but dont really wanna stick that on my wood finished stock in fear of residual crap being left on the stock if i ever decide to take it off. Dont they make a slip on leather style cheek pad or something of the sort?

ive order 2 lowers and an upper assembly from them before. a total of two orders. it took about 3 weeks to get my upper, and about two weeks to get my two lowers. the lowers were part of the holiday special that specified that they wouldnt be shipped out till the 15th of january, but I had mine in hand on the 11th, which was a nice surprise. cant really say anything bad about them, for the price. but yes there shipping is kind of on the slow side. when i ordered my upper, they told me that it would be every bit of two weeks or so before i shipped out, so I wasnt surprised it took 3 weeks. i really like them and will be placing future orders with them

I said it in my first post because that is exactly what was told to me about an hour before I posted it, I meant I have no clue as to where that version of what happened originated.

Thank you all for your kind words. I have to clear things up. The guy above that posted about the news reports not mentioning a child is correct. Somehow, somebody mentioned a child being involved when it appears there was not. I have absolutely no clue how a child got brought up in this devastating event. He lost his life saving his girlfriend, NOT a child. Again, thank you all

Well I've reached one of those points in my life that we all unfortunately have to go through, I lost my best highschool friend last night. He drowned in while saving a boy from a car that rolled into the river in Bridgeport, Al. He saved the little boys life, while giving up his own. That's why I'm posting this up here because I think he deserves recognition in making the ultimate sacrifice, for being a hero to the boys family. We were inseparable for 99% of our jr high/high school years. And just like almost everybody else, after high school we kinda grew apart. The last time I saw him was on my birthday December 24th. He leaves behind two sons of his own, ages 2 and 4. R.I.P Christopher Mathew Heaton. You will be missed

yeah i like it a lot. it zeroed in just a few shots and fit and finish is great. the mount it comes with is a very sturdy one. im gonna buy a larue quick detach for it soon though. I bought the red dot only version, it comes in a red/green dot as well, but after reading many reviews on the red/green dot version about it not being bright enough in sunlight, i bought the red dot only version. its plenty bright enough in sunlight. and yes it does need to be shot more! I just recently picked up skeet shooting due to a buddy of mine, so i had to get a good skeet gun. but i plan on shooting 100 rds or so through the ar here in a week or so.
-
that may have been it. this is one of those "a buddy of mine says he has this gun for sale" type of deal. things always get switched around when dealing with a middle man.
-
have any of you guys heard of a shotgun winchester makes/made called the xp1? I believe its a semi auto? I googled it and couldnt find hardly any information on them. Just enough to gather that it does exist. Im asking because Ive got a chance to buy one at a good price (i think) and wanted to try to research it first because I have never heard of it. Thanks for any info.
-
i have the same optic on my ar and it zeroed very well, im very happy with it
-
thanks for sharing and for your service
-
im happy to report that i shot about 80 rounds through the ar today and didnt have anymore FTF, eject, or feeds. i dont know what was up with those two FTF's when it was brand new, but it seems to be doing great now. got the vortex zeroed in at 50 too. it zeroed well though and i am very pleased with it.

crap, i play but its on 360. i had a ps3 a few months back but sold it because i got tired of playing by myself because everybody i know is on 360
-
im tired of playing in random squads who never help each other out. I want to play with other people that work together and actually helps each other out. so if you play BF3 on xbox360, add me. my gamertag is PrO x REED85 my idea of a good squad would be an two assualts (medics), a support guy (for ammo), and the last guy could be his choice of engineer or recon. or replace one of the assualt guys with a recon using the SOFLAM to laser designate enemy aircraft for an engineer teammate. When you laser designate with a SOFLAM, the ecm jammer or flares wont help the enemy aircraft, they are gonna go down regardless as long as the SOFLAM stays locked on. so like i said if you want to play team based BF3, hit me up.

dang that sucks. Ive never dealt with them. From the looks of it I wont be either. If your still interested in getting one try classicarms.us. Thats where I got mine and from the time I ordered it to when I got it in my house was less than a week. Very nice people too. I checked a few days ago and they still had them for 299. IDK how long that deal will last, but Im assuming it will be short lived. Id like to order another one really. Just have to wait till after the holidays are wrapped up. Hopefully they will still be 299. They also have mosin hex rifles for 100 bucks. Dont know why I havent picked one of those up yet seeing as how I dont have one. But good luck with getting your rifle.
