  1. ok so season 2 of American Guns started a few weeks back and I didnt know about it until two days ago. So, since I really liked season 1, I started catching up on season 2 episodes on On Demand. I gotta say, this so far this season is kind of a letdown, they are making some pretty silly stuff IMO. Where are all the custom 1911's and single action's that were made last season? In the newest episode they made a "Mortar Axe", I mean come on guys. I know its a tv show and its more than likely scripted, but I hate to see another gun store go down in a Red Jacket style hollywood blaze. I can only imagine some of the silly stuff that the next seasons will bring if they keep it up. Disappointed so far.
  2. ^ exactly, word of mouth plays an important role in stuff like this
  3. Im curios if op ever got a response from arsenal after sending a link of this thread. Ive never been to OT, as I live in Chattanooga, but i go to Nashville on a regular basis. This thread assures that I never will enter their store, and I will spread this story to all my shooting buddies. Sorry to hear of your troubles
  4. thats good to know. I live in East Ridge, but have not been pulled over in town since Ive had my permit.
  5. I have a canon rebel that i really like alot, it does everything I need and then some, while still being a good entry level, easy to use camera.
  6. there may be more but one of the bigger, if not THE biggest rifle clubs in chattanooga is the CRC (Chattanooga Rifle Club). The president is Mark Scott, who is the owner of Scott Bookkeeping here in Chattanooga. He does my transfers for me, good guy. There is also a good club in Cleveland, about 25 miles away. Not sure the name of it but my neighbor is a member of it and brags on it alot. CRC is pretty expensive to join, and can take up to a year or so for them to even look at your application. Thats why I havent bothered with it. A good free range is up at Prentice Cooper WMA, on Suck Creek mtn. Takes about 25 mns to get there from downtown Chattanooga. Beware tho it can get pretty crowded there especially on nice weekends, you may have to wait on a bench to open up. Its still a decent range, and its free. Shooters Depot has a good indoor range with memberships available, I recommend them too. They are a good gun store as well. Probably the most well known pawn shop in the area for guns is Twin City pawn and gun in Rossville, GA, about 10-15 mns away from Chattanooga. They usually have a good selection (for a pawn shop) and will work a little on prices with you, as most pawn shops will. Retail store wise we have Academy Sports, Sportsmans Warehouse, Dick's Sporting Goods, and of course several walmarts to choose from haha. im probably missing a couple. Anyways, hopes this helps.
  7. wow. thats its taking it wayyy too far, how disrespectful.
  8. Beef taco salad from Salsarito's extra jalapeno's of course
  9. I ordered mine, for an sr9c as well, two weeks ago. still waiting, but as you said, i hear they are worth the wait. glad to hear you like it. Cant wait to get mine.
  10. http://www.thetrutha...oses-their-ffl/ may be old news but they where under fire from the ATF not too long ago.
  11. ^ yeah that's what it is, if they just gave you a million bucks if somebody stole your identity..id be begging somebody to steal mine lol
  12. its good to hear other peoples opinions about it that actually use lifelock. i just started mine today, but as i said, im already impressed. as far as the internet thing goes. I shop online, alot. ebay, gunbroker, cheaper than dirt, midwayusa...just to name a few. Nowadays it really is more of an inconvienence NOT to shop on the internet. I agree that the more you shop on the internet, the higher your chances are to get your identity stolen, that crosses my mind everytime I buy from a place online. Ive grown comfortable buying online from my regular places though, becasue I have placed several orders through each of them. Also, I use my paypal whenever I can, instead of putting my CC number out there that much more. If there is ONE type of person I HATE more than anyone, its a thief. Me and my wife work for the stuff we have, and when some jackwagon comes along and just decides he likes it and says, hmm ill just take that, it boils my blood quicker than anything.
  13. ^ yeah i saw that, i researched LifeLock for a little bit before I joined. When you just do a general google search on it, most of the things you read are good. of course every company has its downs. For 25 bucks a month, I figured i'd run it for a couple months and see how it goes. If I dont like it or think it isnt a good service, Ill cancel.
  14. well, some things have happened in the last week or two to raise my suspicion about this. so this morning i became a ultimate member of LifeLock. anybody else use this service? the ultimate membership is $25 a month, or $275 for a year. Although i just signed up for it, im impressed at the extent of services they offer. Not to mentioin that $1,000,000 guarantee. Signup takes a little bit, because you have to put in alot of information regarding your personal and financial life. I have a little bit better piece of mind now. Me and the wife have both had our banking information compromised in the past, and even though its not a fun thing to go through, our bank was great in making sure we got our money back. Unfortunately, it happens so often these days, they dont even try to catch the criminals that do this anymore. You get your money back and a new debit card and thats the end of it, which kills me to think these people get off wiith it clean as a whistle. We have yet to become the victims of full fledged identity theft though. What prompted me to sign up for lifelock is a strange call I got from Comcast about a week ago. The so called "representative" told me they were adding a premium channel upgrade, Cinemax to be exact, to my package for two years for free just for being a loyal "digital preferred" package customer. And she "just needed to confirm my address" which she already had. Thats what kinda scared me, is whoever this was, they already had my name, and home address. Well today, about a week later, Cinemax has still not been activated and I have started recieving all kinds of junk email since then. I mean a ton of it. Some of them are pretty alarming. About green work visa's and such. As of this morning, according to LifeLock, no alerts have been posted and nothing is compromised. Joining them and seeing the level of protection you get for 25 bucks a month definately helps put my mind at ease some. Soooooo 1. If a "Comcast Rep" calls you and gives you a story similar to mine, dont buy it, just hang up on them unless you can somehow find out they are legit. Although they pretty much already had my information. They may yours too. 2. if you havent got any kind of identity protection or taken no steps at all to help prevent it, i strongly urge you too before its too late. at the very least every home should have a micro cut paper shredder. its happening at an alarming rate these days. My wifes bank info was compromised twice in the last year, once in Oct of 2011 and once in January of this year. Thanks for reading and take into consederation what ive said!
  15. wow...i blame carl
  16. yeah i got it too, sent it back the next day. didnt even watch it either. I dont really appreciate that as well, send it back or pay for it. Not a very good concept. I understand they do so much for the protection of our second ammendment, but that could definately be left out as far as im concered. I kinda felt like i was being put on the spot.
  17. email or txt me the pic and ill upload it for you
  18. Nice! Love the raptor too, beats the heck outta my ol 4.2 v6 f150 lol.

    New SR9c issue

id probably contact Ruger about it, I'm sure they will replace it. When you pay a good chunk of change for something, you expect it to be in perfect shape, I know the SR9C isnt the most expensive gun out there, but still. I just bought an SR9C three days ago, havent even fired it yet. I guess they come from the factory in the bag with all the oil as you described, but mine was not. I guess the dealer I bought mine from takes them out of the factory bag and cleans them up some. I cant wait to put some rounds through mine. Good luck!
  21. i just bought a ruger sr9c yesterday to use as my edc from now on, waiting on my crossbreed holster now. I bought a full frame springfield xdm 40 a few years back, thinking it would be a good edc gun, but its just to big for it. then i bought a taurus .380 and every time i would leave the house id feel underpowered lol, so i hope the ruger sr9c gives me that happy median
  22. I noticed that as well.
  23. yeah I cant wait to go put some rounds through it, I just ordered my Crossbreed today and it said on there website to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery, which sucks, but from what i hear they are worth waiting for
  24. well, after a whole weekend thinking about a few certain guns that I had in mind, I ended up purchasing one that never even crossed my mind. Here is my brand new EDC companion. A Ruger SR9C... I know, I know. A 9mm is not a big step up from a .380, but I couldnt help but love the gun. Heres how it went down. I went to Shooters Depot this morning for the first time, looking for a Glock 27 or 33, or a ruger wheelgun. Turns out they sold out of their 27's on Saturday ( he said it was packed wall to wall in there that day). And they didnt have any 33's either. So after browsing around for a bit at the other compacts they had, he asked me if I had ever considered a Ruger SR9C. I said I have read about them and whatnot but never held/fired one. The second the gun hit my hand I loved it, it felt really good. After fooling with it for a minute or so, he said well do you want to shoot it, I replied with how much will it cost to test fire, and he said I'll let you shoot 5 rnds out of mine for free. Turned out thats what he carries as well. So we went in the range and I got to shoot 5 rnds through his gun. It was over then, I had forgot how much fun a 9 is to shoot. Very manageable recoil, ammo is always available, and cheap to shoot. So i told him to write it up and a box of ammo and that was it. Got the gun brand new, and a box of remington umc target ammo for under 500 bucks. 496 to be exact. I love the way the ruger feels in my hand, and am very glad he suggested it and was kind enough to let me shoot his for free. A++++++ to Shooters Depot on Shallowford Rd. I will be a return customer. Oh, and I just placed my order for a Crossbreed supertuck deluxe IWB holtset as well.
