thanks and the same to you David. in the spirit of tradition at this time of year, let me be the first to say that I am thankful for the virtual home away from home that many of us call TGO we can show and tell....we can sell and spend....and we can rant and rave ((and get put in check when we get out of line!!)) but one thing is for sure, this is a great place to hang out...
I second that! I love signing on here to see whats new. Id like to also say im thankful for my family most of all, my job i have in these troubling times, my health, and for the good lord allowing me to have all this. I consider myself truly blessed. Happy Thanksgiving friends.

I use the same tapco mags with my conversion, havent had a single hiccup

Turned out good! So you just did a base coat of tan then sponged on the rest? Good job

Maybe TLRMADE will see this and post his experience with his arsenal in here. His had a canted front sight on it that he had to send off to get fixed iirc
Yea I think mine is threaded.....it ended up having a flat trunion. Nathan said that like 90% have curved ones....dunno what that means about mine? I mean I bought my Arsenal this past spring and had to send it back for warranty work and the warranty had already expired even though I bought it brand new. They said it must have set on the shelf for a while? So I can't really tell how old my Saiga is even though it was bought earlier this year?
Mine had a round trunion, ive seen the ones with the flat trunions as well. Not sure what the difference is either.
-
Im in the same shape as you on that part. Mine looks like yours. Im about 80% sure mine is. From what ive researched about it online, the ones made in 09 or later are threaded. Dont take that as fact though. Regardless if its threaded or not, that shroud has to come off of the end of the barrel. If its not threaded CSS sells the correct die to thread it. They also sell the die alignment tool to make sure its perfectly lined up.

The conversion is alot of fun, its not too hard. The hardest part for me was drilling and tapping for the bullet guide. Let me know if i can be of any assistance. Heres how mine turned out http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/53086-saiga-front-end-converted-its-done/#entry821111

ive looked in the edit my profile settings and all that, and im probably just overlooking it, but how do you change the title/description above your avatar? Mine has said "TGO Newcomer" since 2009. Im sure its easy, and trust me I did look for it for how to do it for awhile lol. Thanks *edit- Also I couldve swore like 2 or 3 weeks ago I had at least 200 active posts, and now its saying Im back down to 178? How do active posts disappear? or do they? Idk maybe im going nuts.
But it is such a good excuse to give the wife for purchases!!
Ill give you that one lol

My .02 is that this all seems like a rerun from his first election as President. For three or four months afterwards all it was, was stock up on guns and ammo and head for the hills. You couldnt find an ar for under a grand, if you even found one at all in stock, and we are probably gonna do that to ourselves again. Behold, a few months went by with no attempt at our guns, and everybody settled down. This is adding up to the same thing.

What will you do on the day after tomorrow?
reed1285 replied to Links2k's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Ill be at disney world in Orlando with the wife and daughter tomorrow lol. Be here till sunday (Orlando not DW) -
Ill go ahead and say crossbreed supertuck. There will be more in here shortly to back me up on that. They are a little pricey and take a few weeks to get in (made to order). But its by far the most comfortable iwb holster ive ever used. I carry my ruger sr9c in one.
Why?
When someone has no experience in a certain thing, their advice/opinions usually arent listened to. Im sure as heck not gonna take parenting advice from somebody that doesnt have kids. Thatd be kinda silly right. Just my .02 on the matter
-
If you dont have kids then i dont think your opinion is valid in this thread. I was spanked as a kid, my parents never beat me, but id get my backporch painted red if i did something bad enough that called for it. I love both my parents and would do absolutely anything i could for them if they ever needed me to. I dont hold an ounce of hate or despise for either of them for spanking me. It sure did make me think twice about doing the same thing again. Some people are sounding awfully liberal in this thread lol.
Personally I lost all mine in a boating accident but would like a room like this!
I would never leave that room! Unless it was to shoot one of them of course

There is a difference between collecting and hoarding. Do stamp collectors who possibly have hundreds of stamps consider theirselves hoarders? More than likely not. Same goes for coin collecting. My .02
Interesting. I lived in Chattanooga for 25 years and had never heard of it. Google shows me lots of stuff about it being closed. What's the story?
yeah, for about the past year or so the off roading club around here, called We Rock has been in legal battles with a development company that bought out most of the land up there. and TWRA has gotten involved too. technically it is still open, you just have to know how to get up there. We Rock is a pretty good sized off road club and apparently has people in the right places because they have stalled them this long. Their main fight revolves around a road that goes up the mtn that the devolpment company tried to shut down, its the main route all the off roaders would usually take. But they could not legally shut it down because something to do with it being a state road or something along those lines. There is aloootttt i dont know about the whole ordeal, but it boils down to We Rock, and all the individuals that go up there to ride vs. development company. Ive signed a couple petitions on We Rocks behalf. were it will be a year from now who knows, but technically for now the mtn is still open for off roading. its crazy you lived here for that long and never heard of it lol. its only about 20 mns from chattanooga, if that.
-
That is aetna mtn. Here in good ol tn. Everybody ive ever shown that picture to thinks its somewhere in the north west. That was a fun day lol

This reads like an ad lol. But i agree, a wasr would be about an equal trade

I put a spikes tactical lpk in my new frontier poly lower. The takedown pins are super tight, to the point to where im gonna have to take a small drill bit to open them up a bit. I mean they are TIGHT. Have to use a rubber mallet to slide them in and out for takedown. I also had to take a dremel with a small sanding wheel to open up the magazine release slot on the lower as well. The mag release from the lpk wouldnt even go in until i did that. Aside from those two things they are cool i guess. Lightweight thats for sure.

what is so special about this ammunition that it cost this much? http://www.gunbroker...?Item=313213317 Ive never heard of it before. I was just strolling around looking for some 9mm ammo and came across this. current bid is $1100. Kicker is buy it now was $1000. So somebody wasnt watching what they were doing I guess lol. Is this a limited edition ammo that winchester makes, or used to make? Thats alot of coin for 500 rounds of 9mm. Info? *edit...oh i see now, its got 12 bids on it so they are in a bidding war for it i guess. still i guess somebody should of used the buy it now lol.

Inside Waist Band Carry uncomfortable.
reed1285 replied to Jesse's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I find my crossbreed supertuck very comfortable, with iwb carry, its mostly about what holster you have
