  1. eh i still took a couple mns out of my day to write to him to thank him for taking that stand anyway.
  2. I hope to meet some of you there! to bad we dont have official TGO shirts or hats lol
  3. So does that mean, since my phantom muzzle brake has evenly spaced ports all around it, that it does not need to be indexed?
  4. I thought this would be the best place for this. I would like to get a roll call of other TGO members who plan to be at the capital in Nashville on the 19th? I plan on going and urge my fellow tgo'ers to do the same if possible. Ill be making the trip from Chattanooga. If we could get at least 1/4 of our forum members there, thatd be a lot of people. As Hickok said, we need numbers! I thought it also be cool, if we can get more than just a few of us there, to get together and have a meet & greet or something of the sort. Also, i wanted to tell other chattanooga members on here who wants to go, I can maybe set up a carpool in my wifes midsize suv. Not a guaranteed though. We need to be there on the 19th!
  5. ok, so first question. I bought a YHM phantom muzzle brake a few months ago to install on one of my ar15's. Well I was going to install it tonight because im getting tired of looking at it sitting on my gun safe. I searched around, and looked at a few youtube videos on how to do this, because I just wanted to make sure my assumption of just unscrewing the old one off, then screwing the new one on (with a new crush washer of course) was right. Well in the few vids I watched on youtube, they all talked about "indexing" the muzzle brake. How do I do this for my YHM phantom? The ones I watch all dealt with the battlecomp brake, which has a mark on the brake to help with indexing. I looked on mine and couldnt find any marks to help with indexing it. Do you only have to index certain ones? Or should they all be indexed? I also searched google specifically for a YHM phantom brake install, with no luck. I know to some this may be a mundane task, but its the first one I will be doing, so help will be appreciated.   Second question. The brake i specified above is going on my 16" barrel ar. I have another ar with a 14.7" (palmetto) upper, with a permanently pinned a2 flash hider on it. All this searching and talking about muzzle devices got me to thinking. If I take the upper off the rifle, would it be legal for me to take the flash hider off of it, replace it with one of my choice, take it to a gunsmith to have it pinned, then put it back on the rifle? Again, I understand that without that pinned flash hider on there, I would technically have an SBR upper. Thats why I would not put it back on the rifle until the new flash hider was pinned. And yes i realize removing a pinned flash hider would be a pain in the a$$. Im just wanting to know if doing it like that would be legal.   Someone help me out with these 2 questions. Thanks in advance.
  6.   lol sure, I told her about the knife back in November, I was suprised she remembered it. Im loving the knife so far though
  7. Started off going to my ffl to pick up my m44 mosin that came in, then off to meet another member on here for the ak mags, then went to gt's and was able to finally get my hands on some ammo. Gonna go shoot my m44 tomorrow. Both me and my ffl guy were impressed at how nice of a rifle it is. Usually you dont expect much when it comes to mosins's, but i was pleasantly suprised by this rifle.
  8. went in outpost today off exit 89 on 24, yeah they had ammo, but just like everywhere it was way overpriced. $50 for a brick of 22lr. they had plenty of it too, I just cant bring myself to pay that much for 22lr

  13. I, like many others on here, wrote my representative, Chuck Fleischmann, and got this reply today: Dear Travis: Thank you for contacting me about the recent heartbreaking tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this horrendous attack on our children, and I remain honored to represent you in Congress. On December 14, 2012 a deranged young man attacked the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut, brutally murdering 20 first graders and 6 adults. This unspeakable attack shook the town of Newtown to its core and forced many of us to question how anyone could be so evil as to murder children. In the wake of this shooting there are no easy answers. I have heard suggestions for limiting 2nd Amendment rights to increasing resources for mental health issues to putting armed school resource officers in every school. I oppose limiting gun rights, however I do believe that there is merit in the other two suggestions, although these solutions may be better implemented at the state or local level than at the federal level. School resources and needs are no doubt very different in a small Tennessee town than in New York City or in rural Alaska. This horrific act leads me to hug my children a little bit tighter, but ultimately the search for answers to this shooting yields few clues. We know little about the shooter and what could have driven him to kill. I urge you to join me in keeping the victims and their families in your prayers in the wake of this horrible crime. Thank you again for your concern and please do not hesitate to let me know if I may be of additional assistance. Sincerely, Chuck Fleischmann Member of Congress Any more of you guys got a response?
  14. So, when would this be voted on?
  15. Hell ill get in on it, ill wait in line. Put me down bringing 2 cases of bottled water

  22. Garmin handheld gps, new 2500psi pressure washer, 50,000btu kerosene forced air heater, few blu ray movies, some much needed blue jeans, griffin survivor case for my iphone, some walls heavy insulated bibs. And some other small odds and ends, thats the majority though
  23. Im just wondering, why is ammo so scarce right now? Last I heard ammo was not gonna stop being produced. I can kinda understand the run on firearms right now, with all the gouging going on, because of the possibility of a ban going into effect. Nobody's gonna ban ammo right? So why are all the stores out of stock right now, and all the gouging going on for ammo on top of the firearms. Somebody shed some light.
  24. I was just about to post this same topic, then saw this, so im just gonna bump it up. Please if you have not taken the time to contact your reps, take just a few minutes out of your day to do so!!
  25. Merry Christmas TGO friends!
