Remember When

ummmm...remember when gas was $1.30 a gallon? Or 9mm was $11 per box of 50? lol sorry im still in my 20's and dont have much to contribute to the "remember when" reminiscing. but i tried?
4. Welcome to tgo. As others have said, i think you will find tn laws a bit more relaxed than ct laws. Plus add that to the fact that some of our leaders are creating legislation to protect our rights instead of infringe them, and youve got a pretty good combination. Ps dibs on the pies
5. Academy at hamilton place doesnt have crap
6. Wow, your dad has a gift, those are beautiful
7. ive noticed it locally as well. Those $600 ar's that people have listed for $1000 and up are sitting alot longer. Especially on those facebook gun trader pages. Each bump is resulting in $100 price decrease
8. Just be careful accidental discharge's have been known to kill
9. I hate you i hate you i hate you
10. So we agree that there will be another shortage when they lift the limitations? Even in my short time in the hobby I never thought I would see 22 rounds at $.20-$.25 per round. Or 223 being a dollar per around. Much less that there was so many people willing to pay that price.
11. I was thinking about all this ammo craziness going on right now, and it made me realize something. Now you guys correct me if im wrong. We all know the major ammo retailers (walmart, sportsmans warehouse, academy, cabela's, bass pro, all the major online retailers, etc.) have put limitations on the amount of ammo you can buy. As far I know academy is the worst, allowing only one box per caliber per day. But anyway, by putting these limitations in effect, did they create another ammo panic in the future? It seems that way to me, cause once all the ammo restrictions are lifted (which may be months away) all the ammo hoarders will be able to buy up all the ammo they want, creating another panic and shortage. So if this happens we are looking at at least a year when/if ammo ever gets to be readily available again. Guessing of course. I recently just got heavy into this hobby, around 2010. So I wasnt really looking around for stuff when the 08-09 panic hit. Did the above happen then? Did they limit ammo like they are doing now, and when they lifted the limits it started all over? Also, does this panic differ a lot from the 08-09 one? And when did the market stabilize afterwards?
12. Heck yeah! I cant wait for my daughter to be old enough to shoot with me. Your story just makes my impatience worse!
13. I was in red bank earlier when i heard this on the radio news. It was a terrible freak accident, i was shocked when i heard.

Sorry for your loss.
14. ill just go in food city before we head out to buy some stuff, cause if thats the way we are doing food and drinks, i wont bother with taking up precious space with the cooler.
15. i was utterly disappointed in the shootout at the prison. all they did was run them off. I liked how glenn and maggie popped up and maggie said "we did it?" and glenn returned with "we did it". they didnt do crap but scare them off for the time being. And dont get me started on when the Governor started murdering those people and those two guys looked shocked, but did nothing to stop him. One single bullet would stop the Governor just like they do anybody else.

My new AR

Very nice! You have a great rifle there
18. i despise you.....lol
19. i can bring a cooler of ice and some 2liters and plastic cups. what kind of drinks do you want me to bring? coke, diet coke, mtn dew, pepsi, dr pepper etc?
20. As someone else said, if you are a "youtube partner" you get paid. If there is an ad before the video, they are getting paid. Im pretty sure its $20 per 1000 views, which doesnt sound like much, but when a video is getting 100k+ views, it adds up. In response to the thread topic, it was just a matter of time before the atf investigated him.
21. Well i guess we will be seeing a few of these start popping up on gb and armslist here soon listed for probably 100 per mag. I agree though, they are awesome. I wouldnt feel right buying them as i dont have any noveske stuff. Id feel like a poser i guess. If i had a noveske rifle i guarantee you id have a couple though. Slamming them home in a poly lower just wouldnt be right lol. Just my opinion
22. All over the cove, we werent near tracy city, we went in at the pocket on whitwell mtn, and i started taking these pictures right after rock house hill, after you get off the mtn. Good times
23. I can only hope this somehow makes its way to jim himself. Would love to see his reaction on this
24. I love sw and go there regularly. Even if they dont have any ammo for me, its still just a nice store to walk around and build up a wish list, and my daughter loves petting the stuffed bear in the back lol. I stopped by there regularly back before the panic hit, so im not one of "those guys"
25. Ok did anybody else catch hickok's video on this? He put it up yesterday, perfect timing for this thread. I agree with hickok on 99% of the stuff he says, but i can not agree with him on this new video, double barrel shotgun vs. ar for home defense. He strongly advocates the ar over the shotgun. He makes some good points, but one thing he says is that the 5.56 bullet is not likely to go through a lot of walls because it was designed to break into smaller pieces on impact? You guys watch it and let me know your opinion on it. And my opinion is in a home defense situation, im grabbing my xdm 40 first, loaded up with 16 hi shoks in the mag, and a streamlight mounted under the barrel. If not that then im reaching for a shotgun.
