i wonder doing away with kill tags and the check in system change has anything to do with it? Like not everybody reporting their harvest? Last year, we had physical paper tags that had to be attached to the carcass in order to be legal. Now you can do it on your smart phone, on the web, or just go to a check station, no kill tags involved. Leads me to believe some people arent using the new system like they should, and not checking in their kills

Sorry to hear about this. The old cliche dogs are a mans best friend is true. They will never lie, cheat or steal from you, and will be by your side no matter what, even if your in the wrong. I have no doubt in my mind that my Amstaff, Wrangler, would die trying to protect me or my family. I will mourn for a long time when I lose that dog. My sincere condolences. I always joke with my wife when she decides to leave me, all I want is my truck, guns, knives and dog.

I read the first post and jump ahead to this reply, so sorry if you have already stated this and missed it. Did you get the red/green dot strikefire? or the red only? Before I bought mine, I looked at a lot of reviews for them and noticed a whole lot of complaining from people that had the red/green dot version, the red dot not being bright enough to see in daylight. The replies to these complaints were always the same thing, buy the red dot version only, unless you plan on using it with nv or low light situations. I bought the red dot only version and its been a great sight. Holds a zero great. Although I haven't had to use them, Vortex is supposed to have top notch CS.

I told you! Man the smell alone is almost better than the jerky! Glad you like the recipe. I took out the lemon juice as well, and added some cayenne powder. I made three batches of venison jerky with this recipe, and none lasted over 2 days! Im out of the good stuff now, so Im gonna try this with beef as well.

I did not know though....interesting. I have a feeling im going to be in the market for a set of turtle beach x42's here soon though. I had their older version, the x41's, also wireless, with dolby surround. They were an awesome headset. If you ever get the chance to buy/try any of there dolby surround headset's, do it!

We are in tonight as well. Although we didnt plan it that way. Me and my wife had originally planned to go to the billiards club here in Chattanooga to ring in the new year, but our daughter had other plans. Her grandparents came to pick her up so she could spend the night with them. They went to leave and our daughter started crying saying she wanted to stay home. We dont force her to stay with them if she doesn't want to, because we fear that will just make it worse to where she never wants to go over there. So here we are at the house watching the ball drop on tv. A few rounds of j.d. tennessee honey will be had.

well curiosity got the best of me. I called this morning to confirm receipt of my form 1 app and this is what I got atf guy: "when did you mail the application" me: "about 2 weeks ago" atf guy: "well I wont be able to tell you anything, because right now its taking roughly 8-9 weeks from mail date to get the applications processed and in our system" me: "well, when you get the application processed, how long will it take to deposit the check?" atf guy: "around 2 or 3 days" So its looking like its going to be roughly 6 or 7 more weeks till they even process my app, and cash the check. -
How long ago was that? Even 2 years ago when the process was fast it still took a few weeks.
I was gonna ask the same thing, it probably takes two or three days just to get there -

Unless I decide to upgrade the trigger at some point, I think I'm finished with mine.
That is NOT an ugly rifle. I think its very nice looking, you did a good job with the build!

TGO build opinion needed regarding length of forearm
reed1285 replied to Trekbike's topic in Show and Tell
lumber_jack the newer YHM rails are still heavy. I bought one a few months back to put on one of my ar's, and it is pretty friggin heavy. Thats my only gripe with it. Also, to the op, i would go longer as well. -
that was an excellent doc, really an eye opener. The crap those guys had to go through every single day. Thats got to be a hell of a scary feeling, wondering when you woke up if that was going to be your last day on earth. I have a TON of respect for all of them, and all of you guys here that served as well. Truly, thank you. Sorry kind of got off topic. I plan on going to watch the movie next month, I just hope it does Marcus well, and that its not full of BS. If Marcus advised on it, its got to be in line with the real events.
