  1. Welcome to TGO!
  2. These are great knives. I must have carried mine for a year solid. Though, I did put some skate tape on the scales. I'm on the orange Skyline as well:
  3. Cool concept.
  4. Sounds like this guy needs a few pointers. But seriously, whether from inexperience or a momentary lapse of reason.....this sucks.
  5. Work and then FIREWORKS!
  6. First I've heard of that.
  7. Very nice. I just got a BK11 myself, but I'm still trying to get the wrap right.
  8. I'm with OhShoot on this one. I've gone through quite a few over the last few years. These are the ones I don't plan on getting rid of: ZT350, Tenacious, Mini Cyclone, Gerber Evo, Skyline, Delica, Leek, G10 Hawk What are you getting at TDR? As far as size goes, the ZT350 feels great in hand, but is considerably heaver than the rest of these. Added to the 50lbs of other crap I carry with me at all times, I'm gonna have to start wearing suspenders. :-) The Tenacious is roughly the same size, but noticeably lighter.
  9. This. Wait, nevermind. This:
  10. Les Stroud....cool. A reason to go to SMKW....awesome.

  12. Alright, I know many of my fellow gear-heads can appreciate a good flashlight. So, for your consideration, here are a few of mine and my thoughts on them. Not a I-Get-Paid-To-Do-This review by any means and tech specs can be found on the net. http://www.fenixlight.com http://www.streamlight.com/ Starting from the top: #1 Fenix LD20 - 2xAA - ~$50 #2 Fenix LD10 - 1xAA - ~$45 #3 Streamlight Stylus Pro - 2xAAA - ~$22 #4 Streamlight Microstream - 1xAAA - ~$18 Fenix Lights: Very solid construction. I've had both these for at least year and not had any troubles. Recessed tail switches are really nice. Easy push and allow the light to be stood up on end. For me, these are expensive lights. Are they worth it? Yes. Streamlight Lights: I bought these more recently but have been carrying the Microstream daily because it is very pocket friendly. Smaller battery=smaller flashlight Makes sense, right? Mouth carry (aka third hand) is much easier with these. Tail switches are not recessed therefore they will not stand up on end and require a stiffer switch to stop accidental turning on. Very affordable lights. *UPDATE* 7/9/12 : Microstream battery lasted 6 weeks with daily use.
  13. Lol at this and very nice job on the bag. Looks well thought out. I'd consider this a Get Home Bag. Mine's not as organized, but it goes wherever I do.
  14. Awesome!
  15. Thanks. Client area......how could I have missed that.
  16. Did you do this yourself? It looks great, though I would have gone with fuchsia personally.
  17. I should probably know this by now, but how am I to know WHEN my benefactor status will run out? Seems like I got an e-mail a while back, but I'm sure it didn't say when it was going to expire. And I feel like an idiot in 3.....2......1.....
  18. This is good. My google-fu must be off, I kept finding maps for billionaires. ($200 for a map?). Now, I have a decent sense of direction, but basically I know how to get to where I've been before. I just got to thinking that it would be good to at least own a map. Plus, it may be necessary to stay off the roads to avoid zombie herds, detection, skidders, etc.
  19. I'm looking actually. Like Caster said, we're becoming dependent on technology, but it's such a basic necessity. I'll check out MyTopo. edit: http://www.mytopo.com/index.cfm Great site.
  20. What kind of maps are you guys packing in your BOB and where did you get them?

  22. Another happy knife thanks to Mark@Sea's Leather-fu:
