Postal Service reports a 15.9 BILLION dollar loss
jtluttrell replied to thundersnow's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
And they think they're going to be able to do healthcare...
Of course they will. The government is immune from going out of business. -
Does anyone know more about this, such as what modifications are made and what they fire? There's still a projectile involved right? Is this new? Any thoughts on the effectiveness of such training? My original quote was only referring to the connection between the 1986 shootout and the development of the .40 S&W. Perhaps "inspiration for" was a bit lazy of me, but it seemed to flow a little better than "first in a series of events that would eventually lead to the development of". Maybe a bit of a generalization, but I don't think I at any time strayed from reality or misrepresented facts in order to reach this conclusion. I'm not quite sure what you're stabbing at, but maybe see this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man

Yeah, it's part informative and interesting and part retro and hilarious. Win-win. After this I found a training vid / documentary about the 1986 Miami shooting. It's insane (and also happens to be the inspiration for the .40 round, which was news to me.)

Cool FBI Training video from 1969

The brown G10 Skyline is sweet. I've been looking to pick one up as well as a fixed blade model.

Yet another government backed green energy company goes bankrupt
jtluttrell replied to jcoosi's topic in General Chat
I think its time will come, but it's either not yet economically viable or demand is too low. That's the problem with government initiatives like this. If a large enough market emerges, the free market will pursue it. -
My Grandfather's Ithaca M1911 carried at Guadacanal. Like a lot of the guys that were there, he didn't much talk about it, but my guess is this pistol has seen some stuff.

Sure enough.

This pretty well sums it up: .

I had to google that one.

OR ship it to Glock and they'll rebuild it for FREE! (ok, you'll be out shipping costs).

Installed. Come on weekend.

My dad and I once built a piece with a drawer in the toe kick. It would only open when you used the magnetic "key" to pull it out. Only picture I could find at the moment: To answer the OP's question, difficulty is relative to experience and availability of the proper tools. Materials and hardware are readily available. I happened to notice Rockler sells these magnetic locks, though I've never used them, Rev-a-Shelf typically makes good products. As with any custom piece, most of your time goes into design and engineering. Love the idea, though. A customer of mine asked me to build a new top for this table: I'm considering boxing in the skirt area underneath and discreetly hinging the top to make a "hidden" storage area or giving access from the side, so you don't have to move everything off the top to gain access.

Had a similar feeling today. I try and avoid the "doom and gloom -ers", but it felt real today. It's probably partially my fault. As soon as business starts to go well, the bottom will fall out. Just my luck.

Original owner didn't have the bi-pod, but the Kidd barrel and Redfield scope more than made up for it IMO. Ruger happens to be running a special on the bi-pods. I ran about 200rnds Winchester bulk HP through it with only one FTF (with factory mag), which I attributed to the bulk ammo. I broke it down and cleaned it really well that night. I'm hoping to get it back out this weekend with bi-pod installed.

That's bad ars! I may go tacti-cool later, but for know I'm diggin' it as is. I've ordered a bi-pod and may pick up a few Ruger 25 rounders.

Ruger Charger with Kidd Barrel. Scope is Redfield 2x-6x Pistol Scope. Accurate, fun and cheap to shoot. A beautiful day for target practice!

I was wondering the same thing. I've been to Athens and Chattanooga Armory, but not Dayton. -
