Sportsman's Guide Question - 5.56 Ammo
chemprof replied to RobertNashville's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have purchased several types of handgun ammo from them and everything was fine. HTH.... -
I'll put in (yet another) good word for Bill's Outpost. I DO really wish I was getting some kind of kickback from the good pub I give him!! Walked in yesterday to pick up small items and they not only remembered who I was, but what my last two purchases were (one was about a month ago and two from last September)!!! Just class all around. If you're on Facebook, maybe link up with their page? Bills Outpost - Gun Store - Alcoa, TN - Wall | Facebook

Welcome and congrats on the G19. That was my first one, but you're already 10 years ahead of me, as I was a new shooter and owner just two years ago. Enjoy!

...which is why the idiocy has to stop with the very first one! As Barney Fife would say, "Nip it in the bud!"

Remora no-clip holster review (with Kahr PM9)
chemprof replied to monkeylizard's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Huh....I haven't had that prob with the PM9 in my Remora. Doesn't mean it won't, though, perhaps. Glad you still like it! I sure do love mine. Considering getting at least two more for my other stuff. -
I love the Swiss tools I've had over the years and will add this one to the collection! I'm wondering if you have heard or have experience with the Leatherman that's supposed to be good for military/le/gun owners? Thoughts for comparision? Or should I just get both--ha! becoming comfortable with one chambered
chemprof replied to 93civEJ1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The more I think about this, I'm wondering if the "idiot" was just not fully understanding or has/had misconceptions about striker-fired guns? I have loved the many graphics and applets that folks have shared on here to actually see the internal workings, or to just field strip one's weapon and see closely just how things work, right? I think everyone's point is well put: get to know your weapon..... -
Carrying multiple state conceal permits
chemprof replied to Chadastrophic's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Here's the USA Carry site that I use, too, if you like a visual aide: Concealed Carry Permit Reciprocity Maps -
Congrats!! I wish you all the very best, and that you'll link up quickly with other fellow gun and 2A lovers. Hope your move is smooth and that you'll be sittin' on the beach drinking a cold one soon!

Gah!! How am I supposed to save for retirement if these guys keep opening up places for me to spend gun money? Hurrah!!!

Saw the IMAX 3D version. It was cool, but can't say that it was a deal breaker if I'd just gone to the normal format version. Just my assessment.

Unless I'm mistaken, they won't allow open carry like TN. http://opencarry.org/sc.html If I'm wrong, someone can chime in.....

Hi, Shoot Boss: have been finding out more and more about the Appleseed events and am interested in attending some time--the Manchester one is prob the closest to me here in Knoxville, right? Anyway, went out an got my 10/22 BEFORE really reading up on what was essential for the event--reading from rimfire forum that I need to replace some things with better aftermarket stuff (auto bolt release, tech sights, etc). Question for you--I have the black, synthetic stock without the sling studs, of course--what an idiot I am--and am wondering if I can get away with just a barrel band swivel attachment and then just a one-point loop sling. I don't think I'm talented enough to drill into the stock and put 'em in. Or should I get a smith to do it, in that it needs to be the GI web variety in order to fully appreciate/enjoy an AS event? Also might mention that I've only shot the 10/22 now twice and really like it, and have a scope, but am still very noob with rifle shooting. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

^^^^ THIS! I have been so astonished by any gun and 2A supporter saying that BHO is not a threat and that the rest of us were/are overreacting. They will never stop.......

Welcome! Ditto about MD--you're farther from the beach but have more liberty. Glad you made it safely back from Iraq, too!

Yeah, when the "real kids" dress up it's cute--not when it's the adults....creeeeeeppppyyyyy.

You rant is justified--besides the books always being better than the movies, I agree that people need to READ!! Amen, brother. Did you ever read any of Tolkien's other works?
-
Congrats!! I love my Roughrider 45 Colt. Hope your .22 is loads of fun!!

If you're a weirdo, then I guess I am ,too! Going to the IMAX version tomorrow, and have seen all previous flicks minimum of twice and most probably 5+ times each, no exaggerating. Now for the books? Probably read each minimum of four times each, some more than that. Long drive to work for 6 years helped with that via audiobook from the library. AND I just turned 44 two weeks ago--HA! I do still prefer my guns versus a wand, though, right? I mean, a bullet would get there faster than my versions of "Expelliarmus". ROTFL! OK....now y'all can laugh!

Thanks! I'll check 'em out.
