  1. Money market accounts dont pay jack. Ive looked into the high interest checking accounts around here... one around the corner from my house is advertising 4.01% which is not bad at all, but you're right. The requirements for those accounts are nuts: Ten debit card transactions per month, excludes ATM withdrawals Three bill pay transactions per month Access online banking monthly One deposit or ACH debit per month Receive electronic statements monthly so essentially.. it has to be your primary checking account.. now who's going to put their savings account in with their checking account?! not me, that's for sure.
  2. not really. my dad used to do that. you have to find a buyer (numismatist, open market, etc..), then haggle on price wholesale vs. retail price, etc.. too much hassle for my needs currently.
  3. I cant readily access money if its in gold and silver. I want an account that I can withdraw from quickly if need be.
  4. Anyone have any advice on putting some money in a high interest savings account or something similar - something that can outpace inflation? Getting 1% is kind of ridiculous in my opinion... I've got an IRA and 401k already, but want a separate account that I can readily access if needed w/ no penalty and still draw respectable interest. Ive looked at Money Market accounts but those pay like 1%-2%. Rate of inflation last year was 3.85%. Any pot of gold at the end of this rainbow?
  5. oh man.. this is awesome. I love how this dude in the back is just chowing down on popcorn, before he decides to open up a can on this punk. I wish I could get a narration in his head before he goes in for the attack.
  6. hmm. I like that. proactive and "disarming". nice touch.
  7. and we have a winner.
  8. yes.. thats a tribute to the UT coaching staff to create an offensive gameplan vanilla enough for Crompton to execute, yet productive enough to give Florida a run for their money... but it couldnt last, I think everyone knew that.
  9. bring a book, laptop, PSP or something else to kill some time because you may have a loooong wait if you are in the last group to shoot (1-2 hour wait depending on the class size and range availability)
  10. In Christianity, the swastika is sometimes used as a hooked version of the Christian Cross, the symbol of Christ's victory over death. Some Christian churches built in the Romanesque and Gothic eras are decorated with swastikas, carrying over earlier Roman designs. Swastikas are prominently displayed in a mosaic in the St. Sophia church of Kiev, Ukraine dating from the 12th century. They also appear as a repeating ornamental motif on a tomb in the Basilica of St. Ambrose in Milan. A proposed direct link between it and a swastika floor mosaic in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Amiens, which was built on top of a pagan site at Amiens, France in the 1200s, is considered unlikely. The stole worn by a priest in the 1445 painting of the Seven Sacraments by Roger van der Weyden presents the swastika form simply as one way of depicting the cross. Swastikas also appear on the vestments on the effigy of Bishop William Edington (d.1366) in Winchester Cathedral. -WIKI

    Sam's vs Costco

Sams FTW. Used to be a costco member for years, but they changed stock so often.. drove me crazy. Once we found a product we liked, they would discontinue it or get shipments sporadically. Sams is much more consistent. Also - Sams gas in Cool Springs is 100% gas (ethanol free baby, one of only 2 stations in South Nashville that I am aware of that is ethanol free) p.s. +1 to bukowski548 .. my dog still eats Kirklands lamb and rice dog food because it is vastly superior to anything at Sams. My parents get it for me now. At $20/bag, nothing comes close to it for quality vs cost dog food.
  12. im actually impressed with this squad. the defense and running game looks pretty good. All we need now is to work on special teams and wait for Crompton to graduate. I thought our coaching staff did a great job all things considered.
  13. we got some hard-hitting football here boys...
  14. Sorry we cant make it tomorrow. Me and the wife had a good time out there today. She is getting really proficient with that SP101. Yall have fun!
  15. David.. lets talk. I'll get the wife to cook something good and we can discuss this awful mess. Just come on over anytime. I'm sure we can work this out.
  16. all kinds. Corvettes, Ferrari's, Porsche's and Prototype Vehicles too like the Audi twin turbo diesels.. I go down almost every year. Best racing in the country imo.
  17. I think that's still considered CC, no?
  18. sounds like a scene from "Jaywalking"
  19. 4 out of 5 cars purchased via Cash4Clunkers were foreign made.. wasn't Cash4Clunkers supposed to help stimpulate the US auto industry? whoopsie.
  20. well.... i love your enthusiasm, but you are on crack if you think UT can beat Florida. I went to UTK and love the vols, but it aint gonna happen. that said, I would love to see Eric Berry lay the wood to Tebow a few times...
  21. we're there!
  22. the best part of reloading: seeing empty shelves at the ammo store and knowing you got buckets of bullets at home cost per bullet is irrelevant at that point.
  23. yes. check reloaders bench, tennesseevalleybullets, midsouth shooter supply, cheaperthan dirt, etc... depending on what you load... lets say: 1000 pistol primers: $35 1 lb powder: $20 1000 9mm lead bullets: $60 500 9mm brass: $65 comes to .18 a bullet or $9 for a box of 50, and the more you reload the same brass, it gets cheaper per round.

    CZ RAMI vs G26

    train until you do.
  25. Note: this is NOT an OC vs CC thread and I ask that you leave that discussion for another time and place. I was really wondering how many of the folks on this board who carry concealed on a regular basis occasionally open carry. If you do occasionally do, when are where do you OC? At the house only? At the range? When Hunting/Fishing or Camping only? Never? Just curious. Thanks.
