  1. making my own hard cider.. so that will soon be on my list!
  2. 1/2 MOA at 1000 yards? who am i to argue....
  3. WOW that is anal! I read that many of the top match shooters only check their primer pockets for uniformity, but dont clean them. Consistency in the pocket is more important than cleanliness, I guess. (sounds like Im critiquing Kerry Collins!) I bet if you stopped cleaning them you wouldn't notice a difference.
  4. There were a case study done while back on cleaned primer pockets vs uncleaned, and the consensus was that there was no deviation in accuracy. go figure.

i bet they find a way. dont underestimate this teams ability to lose.
  6. well. to be fair, the new restaurant carry law isnt part of the "basics" of HCP, its a detail. It isnt even covered on the written test. But ill agree its an important detail. Regarding "brandishing a firearm", thats covered in the video he watched. Lending unserviceable weapons: agreed, thats poor. NOT knowing what BreakFree is: how is that basic HCP info? "They Half-Assed it" - im not going to stick up for this school, and it sounds like they did a crappy job - im just saying that it is what it is, and people should not expect $250 worth of advanced carry instruction for a $75 state mandated carry class. Thats just me, I guess.
  7. better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6!
  8. hmm.. I should send Dad to this.. try out his new Bushmaster!
  9. That part should have been covered in the crappy video you watched. (Legal aspects of carrying)
  10. Exactly. Like drivers ed. You wont come out of it like Mario Andretti but hopefully you can parallel park. It is just the 1st class, but hopefully not the ONLY class taken. Advanced carry classes should be pursued for those looking for more.
  11. What basic info did they not get? Way I read it, he got the required info, passed the class, and can now apply for his HCP.
  12. How much did you pay? $75? ...and you passed. Sounds like you got your moneys worth. If you want more in-depth training, there are many good venders on this forum that can assist. And yes, an unarmed man can inflict serious bodily injury on you, and that is enough to justify using your gun for self defense.

  14. what if we are both in nashville at the same time? he cant purchase it here? it needs to be shipped somewhere?
  15. Question - I've got an out of state resident interested in my MAC for sale. He'll be in Nashville soon and wants to know how we can work a deal. I'm pretty sure state law doesn't allow me to sell a firearm to non-TN residents right? If so, what is the best option? How does this work with an FFL? Does the seller paypal me and then I drop the gun off at an FFL and he picks it up or what? I'm not familiar with these types of transactions. Anyone who knows, share the wisdom. Thanks.
  16. Mark - check it out. 25% off Mountain House for the rest of the month.
  17. Depends on the shielding. Anything that operates like a "Faraday cage" by design or accident should shield vulnerable circuits from EMP damage to some degree.. that could be a car door, etc.. But the rule of thumb is that unshielded circuits (almost anything electronic) would act like an antenna and terminally overload and fry in the presence of an EMP, even one detonated thousands of miles away. I agree noone knows exactly what would happen, but most agree that properly executed, an EMP attack on the U.S. would be devastating. Google "Starfish Prime" and see the "oops" that happened when the U.S. played with EMP in the Sixties. Lots of EMP damage. Luckily suitcase nukes and dirty bombs and other weapons in terrorist arsenals are really ineffective EMP generators. Only a few nations have vehicles that can get a sufficient size nuke to appropriate altitude for successful EMP attack. I would think (hope) we have the technology to pop those missiles waaay before they get to altitude. No clue though - as such, enter the 80's circuit-free dirtbike!
