True. The sales tax is a user type tax everyone who buys products in Tennessee pays the same. But with no sales tax, a county style government, no inspection on cars and trucks, (except certain towns). Tennessee is reasonable. I am leaving New Jersey (please don't hold that against me), I paid just over $5,000 a year in property tax for a 100 x 150 lot, (cheap for NJ), 7% sales tax, 9% state income tax, local school tax, hidden taxes on car registration, professional licenses, cell phone, business tax, and some they still got me for that I can't even figure out. And above all that I cant get a carry permit! With 7.5 acres in Greene County that I pay 200 bucks a year on....... Tennessee is a wonderful place.

My wife and I are going to build in Greene county. We looked at all options. We found a company called Nationwide homes out of Virginia. They have a web site. We are looking at a modular type ranch home with a full basement. They are advertised as having 30% more wood for strength, and it will take about 1-1/2 months from order to move in. You may want to go that route. The price was way less than a stick built home. Just an option. www.nationwidehomes.com Hope this helps. They have installers in most counties.

A buddy of mine works at Kimberly-Clark and for about 3 years they produced the paper for cigarettes. The government mandated it. It has a chemical in it that makes it go out if you don't draw on it. All cigarettes will eventually have it. I'm sure the chemical can't be good for you.
