Where does the "acting chief" who got involved with the sigbrace issue fit in?
-
I liked the shield, but grip length was always the dominant trait that printed for me (IWB usually 3-4 o'clock), not so much thickness. So even the M&P9c printed less despite being double stack since it had a shorter grip than the shield. The G-26 even better. Of course who knows, maybe I'll fall in love with the 43 and FIND a niche for it ;)

False Bomb Threat Leads to Shooting of Police Chief
Refleks replied to gun sane's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Here's an example of swatting This guy was streaming his game live (anyone can tune in to watch it) and apparently one of those people called in a fake threat causing a raid just because they think it'd be funny to see. http://youtu.be/uH-uRFIr3mA?t=6m7s -
New Twist in the SIG Brace Debate
Refleks replied to btq96r's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Can you still shoulder a buffer tube? -
I don't mind waiting for a single stack 9 so long as it's boringly reliable and the grip is no longer than a G26.

Most of the ones I've seen there look like they dug them out of the river or something, many in poor condition, but they DO have a lot and I'm always glad to see another place around town to browse :)

New Twist in the SIG Brace Debate

So how long is this acting chief going to be acting chief? Will the real chief come back and clarify again? -
New Twist in the SIG Brace Debate

If they must do this kind of thing, they should just tack on that it's only unlawful ".... in the commission of a felony" as a catchall so that the law abiding citizens can just drive on and not have to worry about if what they're doing is breaking the law this week. -
Sub 9mm calibers are still useful IMO depending on the situation. Your mindset may vary and I completely respect it, but in my eyes something like a little .22, .32, .380 etc are what I think of as like 90% guns... in the vast majority of cases, just HAVING a gun will be enough to save your bacon and they're small enough to carry even in an environment where a regular sidearm might be prohibitively big. They're like pocket knives, just no reason not to have one on you if laws permit. The other 10% of cases (both percentages are arbitrary of course) is the worst case scenario we all tend to prepare for just to cover all the bases: a determined attacker or someone who is under the influence. Will it be enough in that situation? It could, but might not. Even a service caliber might not. Still, someone who WILL carry a mouse gun all the time (if the alternative is nothing at all, or only occasionally), so long as they're aware of the limitations, is still admirable. Same rules apply for minimum desired penetration and shot placement though, so as it's been pointed out above, select ammo wisely and practice often!

Had one, not a big fan... Unless you like it for the curiosity of it, at the current price might as well get an Armscor Now back when CZ-52s were $100... that's a different story ;)

If the post-86 ban were repealed....

American 180 hands down. Otherwise I couldn't afford the fun! ;) Those little micro M1919 / M2 machine gun replicas would be a blast too -
Just saw this today: http://clarksvillenow.com/local/woman-attacked-raped-at-dunbar-cave-state-park Dunbar is a state park so it should be legal to carry even though the sign at the park says prohibited right? (Iirc someone mentioned the signs wouldn't be changed due to cost)

Sgammo just got some in stock get it while you can Well, that was fast.

Yep locally they just seem to have the 20 round boxes. I guess I should be glad that it's available, but it's a little frustrating since you can get 50 rounds for the same price online -- when you can find it. Everyone seems to be out the last few months.

Looks good! -
There is also the fury and fury 2 which seem to be softer metal / chinese clones. Same drawback, won't take saiga mags or many other aftermarket parts but the fury 2 comes "converted" with a psl style stock. They are priced like the saigas used to be. Not the same standard but the price on these aren't going to trend anywhere but up like everything else I'm afraid

It's weird, I never thought I would like them. My XD9sc feels better in the hand and points more naturally, but I rented a G26 because I conceal better with the shorter grip and decided I would see how much my performance suffered and if it was worth the tradeoff. Then something weird happened. I actually shot better with it when it came to rapid firing. With single shots it was about the same, but despite the shorter grip, despite not being as comfortable or pointing as naturally, I was able to control it better and get a tighter group faster. Maybe it was because of the lower bore axis, maybe it was because the grip angle made it a little faster to acquire that front sight in between shots, I don't know.. Your mileage may vary but I guess the old saying applies: go with what you shoot the best! I am still going to get an M&P9c eventually but for now the G26 has replaced my XD

Thanks! Yeah most stippling jobs look hideous to me and I see a lot of guns that (to me) get ruined aesthetically even if it helps with grip. I was afraid it would turn out that way but a light touch (using just the weight of the tip) gives me the skateboard tape feel without being too rough or too smooth This one wasn't freehand I cut out a stencil (Monderno helmet in this case since it was relatively simple) out of regular typing paper. If you're fast it doesn't burn ;) For those interested this is what got me wanting to try it (skip to 2:06 or so) (nsfw language) http://youtu.be/Kwij05lVtG0

I got bored so I decided to try my hand at stippling magazines. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be and I have a few ideas I'm going to try out for the rest of the magazines

I have the two piece metal recoil spring assembly but my guide rod is plastic (at least the part that sticks out under the barrel when the slide is locked back. Is it supposed to be metal on the Gen 4?

You guys have convinced me, I think I have decided to get both :D hehe

Now that the ATF has confirmed that it's ok to shoulder a buffer tube and/or sigbrace, and that you can go to a pistol to a rifle and back to a pistol so long as you don't create an NFA item in the process, I've recently had an itch for an AR or AK pistol but I'm torn on what to get. AR Platform... Even though I plan on getting a sig brace, I really like that the AR15 has a buffer tube already, especially if they change their mind on the sig brace in the future. I do plan on getting into reloading eventually but 5.56mm isn't cheap, and out of a short barrel it's critical to buy decent expanding ammunition since FMJ may not ever reach fragmenting velocity which drives up the cost. .300 blackout is even more expensive, although it does better in a short barrel, and if I ever decide to suppress it would be nice. On the other hand, if I go .300 blackout and don't suppress I might as well go 7.62 x 39 which is similar ballistically with cheaper ammo. AK Platform This seems like it would be cheaper to get started in AND cheaper to feed in the long run. PAP M92 and an AK sig brace and there you have it, inexpensive to set up and inexpensive to feed. Big downside is that it's a little longer than some AR pistol setups, and if they change their mind on the legality of the sig brace it's not particularly useful anymore (whereas with an AR there's always the buffer tube...)
