  1. LOTS of good stuff left off that list.  LOTS of total tard stuff on that list.   Hello, Course.  I'll be shooting par today, thank you.   Mac
  2. Thanks, guys.  Looks like that will be the way I go.  She'll be up and running before she knows it.   Mac
  3. Anyone used the MGW sight pushers/installers?  Picked up an M&P for my better half and after "destroying" the rear sight using a punch and drift, she decided I should look into a sight pusher for the front sight.   The MGW's look pretty decent, and I don't mind buying individual ones for different manufacturers as long as they do what they should.  I'm always wary of "universal" tools, which typically seems to translate to "performs all functions equally poorly."   Mac
  4. Funny, I was thinking "mmmm, <the other word>"   Mac
  5. M&P Sports are still in the 1300 to 1500 range now, but mainstream $1000 rifles are only in the $1500 range.  Looks like we made it through the days of the $2500 DPMS Sportical.   On the up side, using GunBroker as a guide, I'm watching some of the lowers starting to drop... slightly.  They peaked at the $450-550 range, they are down to the $300-350 range.  Little by little things will get back to normal.  Still stupidly high, but seems like we've hit critical mass and survived.   FWIW, I CAN'T wait for prices to get back to "normal" (whatever that will be) and see all the "NIB unfired <insert WalMart purchased rifle> for sale.  Need to pay some bills. $400 OBO." listings coming up in about 2-3 months from now.   Mac
  6. Primers are as scarce now as they have ever been.  Bulk levels of bullets are fairly difficult, but not impossible to find.  Getting a reloading setup now wouldn't help you much but I tend to think the components will come back faster than the factory ammo just because so few people reload in relation to those just purchase factory ammo.  I went through this back in 08 and realized that I had started reloading at EXACTLY the wrong time.  Since then, I have worked hard to have enough components available to get me through without noticing anything.  I have the ability to shoot just as much now as I could back in November... except for .22.   As far as having the weapons with no ammo, I feel the same way you do.  If I had something in the safe with nothing to run through it, I'd move it out.  I'm not a collector, I'm a shooter.   Mac
  7. Bottom line, take the original "morality" issue out of the equation, and you're left with someone who violated company policy, bragged about it publicly, admitted he would/will do it again, and called the customers of his employer "idiots."  Someone took one or more parts of that to heart, wrote to the company, and explained the situation.  After the guy reaps the whirlwind, he comes back to throw out accusations against members here because things went bad for him.   There is only one person at fault for this entire situation, and that person is not the member who wrote the letter nor the CEO of the company.  Hopefully, he'll get another job soon and not play in the grey areas to pick up a little extra cash.   Mac
  8. From my reloading bench.   .22's... not so much.  Those are "unobtanium"   Mac
  9. Ah... evenings of gun cleaning.  Bottle of BV, bright red lipstick, and Telephone Line by ELO in the background.  No better way to relax.   Mac
  10. Personally, I'm offended by all the whining done by tax-paying, self-improving, law-abiding, reliable, responsible, productive members of society who just "happen" to be white, male, and between the ages of 18-65.  I mean come on... it's like they feel entitled to something.  They just need to clam up and keep paying for stuff for pete's sake.  No one likes a whiner.   Thing is... that group of citizens is QUICKLY becoming a valid minority, which means someone might start listening to them eventually.   Mac
  11. As long as it's not "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" by Drowning Pool, I think you'll be fine.   Mac
  12. I've used Blade-Tech for my USPSA rigs (XD Production, Glock Production, M&P Production, CZ SP01 Production, and Single Stack)  If any of these were my carry weapons, I'd definitely use my Blade-Techs to carry.  They will be as secure as you want them to be, much faster on the draw than leather, and easier to reholster.  Blade-tech and Comp-tac have carry versions of the competition holsters as well that have different mounting options so you can use the "same" holster, just an easier version to mount to your belt.   Mac
  13. In my tiny apartment I use a Cobalt Tool Stand with a 2" thick MDF stair tread C-clamped on top.  Really stable, very light when necessary to move around... and I can use a bench grinder in my apartment if the need ever arises.   Mac
  14. Every collection should include a polymer 9MM (M&P, Glock, or XD) and a 1911 in 45...  and a .22... and a 12gauge... probably an AR, O/U, Remington 700, Marlin Lever action, Thompson Black Powder, Smith revolver, pocket bug,   wait, what? Oh, sorry... kinda wandering there a bit.   Mac
  15. Yes, it's a Saturday.  It's also Gun Appreciation Day, so everyone should be doing something that day to support the 2A.   FWIW, he might want to get the date right on his own video.  As far as I know, it's 2013, not 2012.  Hate when people do that. (Unless, of course, this video is from last year...)   Mac
  16. Fixt that for you...   Mac
  17. They will make their examples VERY public, then they will offer $500 "rewards" for information.  Neighbors will be cutting each others' phone lines to be the first to cash in.   Mac
  18. Has anyone ever been able to order weapons off WalMart.com?  I've only ever seen them listed as "In-Store Only"?   Mac
  19. Just sold mine on GunBroker for $37,850, but it had a barrel shroud on it.  You know what part that is, right?   Mac
  20. A Choad stock and Hogue grip for $96K?  Seems a little steep.  Maybe they forgot to mention the armoured HumVee that comes attached to the bottom of it.   Mac
  21. I didn't know that about the local stores having priority, just that WalMart corporate said they will still sell them the same day that Dick's "bailed out."   Just an observation, but there has never been a more aptly named store than "Dick's."  And I came to that conclusion LONG before the latest travesty.   Mac
  22. Truth.  They have actually publicly announced they will not drop AR's from their offerings.   Mac
  23. Brian,   I like the article.  I wish I had been a little more eloquent, but that's on me, not you or the story.  I probably would have preferred you blurred my license plate, though, lol.   Mac
  24. No worries, I'll keep my eyes open.  Actually, pretty interested in it.   Mac
  25. When will this story hit newstands?   Mac
