You have to close the road running next to it. The 1000 yard line is across the road on the other side of the range.
-
The "ziplock freezer bag" is my method also. You can also double bag the firearm and hold it in tight using rubber bands for the week long stretch. I have never had a holster that didn't loosen up using this method.
-
The only 1000 yard ranges that I know of that are open to the public are in Tullahoma & Oak Ridge. Not aware of any near Hickman county.

Send a file copy to Brownells, Graf & Sons, Midway and Numrich. They will then give you the dealer price on orders.

Got it, thanks for the address!

Anybody have a street address for the Jackson Fairgrounds so that I can enter it into the GPS? Thanks,

I was there today just looking around for odds & ends. Is it just me or are S&Ws becoming like Harleys...., everybody thinks the one they are selling is "rare" and "collecter grade" even when its a common model 10 with a re-blue.

There is also a concern about feeding issues with anything other than FMJ. Ammo in a mag also gets banged around alot while in the field or outside the wire..., FMJ seems to hold up better to rough handling. Having said that - - - "Special Folks" carrying "Special Arms" are know to load "Special Ammo" produced for them by "Special Makers."

Robert, where is the 2nd Amendment Gun Shop located? Thanks,

Could be that a day at the range shooting a small pocket pistol for "fun" wouldn't be kind to the firing hand. Also the PF9 is what I call a good "7 yard gun." Shooting it out pass that at the range won't give you Camp Perry Bullseye groups. I always laugh at the gun rags who try to test such firearms at 25 yards. The PF9 is an outstanding deep cover concealment firearm. I carry one when something bigger is just too much for what I'm wearing that day. With any of the topline service ammo it will get the job done so long as the shooter does their part. Just make sure that you get the most currently made PF9. My only concern with any Keltec product is that they tend to let the public do their "Beta Testing" for them with early production guns.

Todd, Just my 2 cents worth....... If your thinking about "advance" training then make it something that doesn't waste the experienced student's time. Nothing pisses me off more than a upfront three hour block of lawyer led gun safety rules prior to ever getting to the subject of the course (and the shooting). Establish some degree of prior training to get into the class and then get on with it. If a student proves that they are out of their element and the training is too advance then invite them back to do more basic level of training and apply their fee to that training. Focus your training on the task needed - - - Team Four Stack Entry & Room Clearing is best left to the pros. Room to room clearing for a homeowner to get to a love one is good for the HCP holder. BTW - One of the best training ideas I ever took part in was a "family" drill where the shooter trained with their real love ones on what to do if the bad guys came into their living space (home, car, etc.). Just the mindset of having the wife & kids to understand what Dad would be doing was some of the best training I have taken part in. Also getting the wife to conduct her own "failure-drill" on Dad going down and now its time to pickup his weapon and continue the fight was PRICELESS!

If someone breaks into my apartment, what are my rights?
DMark replied to NeveSSL's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That is the intent of the law, but I am not aware of any case study yet. Its important to know that the castle doctrine can be applied to any place where you have a legal right to be. So far that is consider to be your real property = home, land, car, etc., but it could be anywhere - so long as you have the best of lawyers. -
My "retirement" firearm will be a Hamilton Bowen Smith & Wesson HD conversion to .45 Colt with Dan Love engraving and Paul Persinger grips. And YES - - - I will Shoot it!

I've gone mostly to LEO/Military classes, but civilain courses are the bread & butter for most of these places. Oh I almost forgot "FrontSight" outside of Vegas where I took a subgun course that was with a civilian class. Funny...., but there was a couple of other "students" with haircuts like mine. Hmmmmmm.

Trust me....., The skills acquired from your (and my) taxdollar was put to good use.

Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, and a couple of others on the taxpayer's dime. I liked those that didn't preach a doctrine that their way was the only way. Those that trained to a mindset are the best. And yea - - - Clint Smith tends to talk fast or maybe I was just listening slow.

Hey Now - - - All of John Moses Browning's creations are AWESOME! I installed a Dawson Precision front fiber optic sight a couple of years ago, that is it in the photo. The Novak package had a gold bead front sight, classy looking but not that bright for when my eyes began to age. I found the front fiber optic improved by split-times back when I was shooting this BHP in IDPA.

I would recommend to not point out to the Mall management or stores any error in wording or placement of their signs. However, if they see you are carrying and ask you to leave they are in their right per TN law. Just say, "OK, but I will not shop here again" and depart. Don't make a fuss about their signs because they might fix them.

It wasn't the host. It was Cory Trapp of Gunsite doing the shooting..., quite the gentleman and a Master of the 1911.
-
Not this year if you are talking about the State Championship on 20 Oct. I was out of the state that weekend.

All good points. Only allowing 1-1-2-1-1 was not in the rules when IDPA began. It was added later. I still feel that their main reason against also using 2-2-2 was to protect one of the board members latest teaching trick. I recall one saying that it HAD to be done that way (1-1-2-1-1) because its being taught that way and a Bud of mine looked at me and said, "Has this want-a-be SOB ever seen the elephant?" But, its old news now and that window won't open up again during my watch. I haven't talked to anybody at the HQ in over 3 years now. When I now shoot, its mostly in Southern KY/Middle TN/ Northern AL. At the time all of this was going on I was found in the AL/GA/FL area - - - Not to include some quick side trips to SWA. I will SO every now and then, but I no longer do any MD duties. And I still shoot 2-2-2.
