  1. Well lets test that. Hey Joe! Do you have any of those "unattainable" MAGPUL UBR stocks for sale? I need one in Black to finish a new 3-Gun. Getting back on topic - - - I saw the same price jacking back when the 94 AWB took affect. I still won't deal with some folks because of what they did back then.
  2. Just a FYI. S&W only recessed its MAG calibers (.357, .41, .44). Looking for a 3" MDL 36 is a noble undertaking!
  3. Here is my Pig-Killer. S&W Model 57.
  4. Those pop-ups were GREAT! Also liked the way we did squadded today instead of a shotgun start. And I get the Brain-Dead award for the day. Was Zero Down across all of the stages until the last string of my last stage and instead of 6 rounds in the mag...., Yup - - - I only had 5!!!!!!

    AR max range?

Hmmmmm...., Didn't know that. Been away from the game for a while. I last shot across the course at Perry in 2000 and then got busy with what was once called the GWOT (Its now called some sort of an Operational Overseas Something-Or-Another). So, can you now shoot a flat top with an optic in Service Rifle? Might be all the reason I need to begin a Mk12 Mod 0/1 SPR build. Wonder if Joe can score some Mk 262 Match from Black Hills?
  6. Your Dad did Good! Its a great aircraft that brought me home when other airframes wouldn't have made it. God Bless your Dad and his service.

    AR max range?

True. Yet I had to post a pic of the AMU guys since they have cleaned my clock a number of times at the 600 line. But the point can be made that an AR is really easy to make accurate when compared to other service rifles. A good trigger and a good barrel with a float tube and you're in the game.
  8. Yup, been up at Campbell alot - - - Getting ready to Retire! I once tried that sitting around drinking coffee deal..., but all I got was alot of trips to the latrine!
  9. S--T HOT Joe! Great Pics. Ain't It Good To Be Alive and Live In Tennessee! Would never see this in California would ya. Here is an old pic of me doing a "little helicopter ride" back in my Flight Test days. That is me hanging on in the front seat while the Boeing Test Pilot tries to rip the fire control radar off of the mast mount of a Longbow Apache pre-production aircraft. Seem like a good idea at the time. HEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

    AR max range?

I don't think the Army Marksmanship Unit would consider 10 Ring hits at 600 yards using iron sights a shotgun pattern.

    Blue & Wood

I have a couple of those also. Here is one of them. While I enjoy shooting my Model 29s, I find its heavy barrel to be less "attractive" than the standard profile barrel of the Model 27s. Not to mention the beautiful checkering found on the top strap and rib of the .357s.
  12. Here are some Old School Blue Steel & Wood to look upon. S&W N-Frame .357s. All of then Pinned & Recessed.
  13. I'm a C. Rusty Sherrick fan. All of Rusty's stuff is made from horsehide. Super light and strong. My favorite carry is a BHP in his Tom Givens Rangemaster. Here is a photo off of Rusty's website of the Rangemaster.
  14. Having served with both of them - - - Lets just say that Powell was easy to work with and Schwarzkopft's nickname "Storming Norman" was well earned. But, if it came down to a SHTF moment - Schwarzkopft would be the one that I would want in command. I always had the feeling that Powell said and did everything with a political objective in mind and his number one concern was how something would reflect on him. Just my $0.02 worth.
  15. Hoyo de Monterrey Executive in Maduro, size 7.00 x 54. I buy them by the 25 count bundle from JR Cigars. Its a great cutting the lawn cigar!
  16. Well Done Joe! Hmmmm...., OH-58. I'm rated in those also. Maybe I've found my post-retirement dream job!
  17. I read the Tennessean only to know what the enemy is thinking.
  18. Well Jimmy just needs to understand that it takes time to fix HIS 17 years of blocking Second Amendment Rights!

    'Taking Chance'

Very well done. For the general public who doesn't understand or even know of the military custom of an escort for a fallen warrior...., this movie does an outstanding job of showing how this honored duty is performed.
  20. Had an interesting phonecall this weekend with an old college classmate. He is an executive VP for a bank HQ in Memphis. Told him that I wasn't very happy about how a newspaper his bank runs ads in (Commercial Appeal) had posted the HCP data. Recommended that he should look into how the bank's advertising dollars may be seen as supporting a paper that is attacking many of his clients. THEN - - - Reminded him that several of my CDs are coming up for renewal and that I am the Power of Attorney for my father's estate and how I would just hate for this action by the Commercial Appeal to affect the topic of discussion at the next alumni steering meeting. He promised to get back with me after he calls the CA on Tuesday. Developing.........
  21. Academy Sports in Cool Springs has carried .300 Savage in the past. Check with them.
  22. NO S**T!!!!!! In my early 20s, being on jump status was all cool and sexy. Heck, hanging out at Zero Dark Thirty early on a Saturday morning for a payday "fun-jump" at Bragg WITH A HANGOVER seem to be the best way to spend my youth. Later in my mid 30s I use to think - - - DAMN this Airborne stuff HURTS - - - And I was only standing in line with my stick buddies waiting to loadup on a C-130...., hadn't even jumped yet! But, its all good. Everytime I feel a pain it takes me back to a different place and the memories of having been among good friends and great soldiers!
