  1. Ahhhhhh....., 173rdABN - - - Just so you know, I Did Not request that 221 Fireball ask the question about vintage full autos! (I'm always recommending that a BAR or Thompson would be awesome).
  2. And please don't forget to budget some dollars toward training. The scary lack of basic and simple firearm manual of arms knowledge and skills that I see as a RO/SO at matches would give pause to even the most hard-core of us who believe in the absolute meaning of the phrase "Shall Not Be Infringed." The framers bestowed upon us a Duty - - - John Madison directed us to be "Well Regulated" which at the time written is easily translated as Smartly Trained. Meanwhile...., getting back on topic. Agree with several of the other posters to this thread. Get something from one of the known producers of ARs. Don't worry about all of the add-ons until your have fired and become familiar with the weapon.
  3. Come on out next time itchytriggerfinger. We had a good match without a single drop of rain - - - then while pulling the targets in the sky opened up and it came a DELUGE! leftyk82 showed up and hammered the X ring for the overall win. I had a good time shooting my M1D Garand Sniper. Even with 70s era M2 ball it was keeping them in the black for the most part. However, I need to remember to sling in harder for rapids when firing that 30.06 Big-Boy round!
  4. Also saw your post over on ARFCOM. Good to see batch approvals again. There was another poster who had a batch approved a couple of days before you with a different examiner. Perhaps they are trying to clear out all of the efiles!
  5. Now if Glock would just fix the grip angle to what John Moses Browning instinctively knew it to be!
  6. We will shoot rain or shine Saturday. The ready line area is under the covered bench rest area of the range. If there is lighting in the area we will stop the match and wait for it to pass. Expect that first rounds will go down range as soon as the safety brief is completed. This match should be complete sometime between 12:00 - 1:00pm. GGC range is located at the Gallatin TVA Steam Plant. 1426 Steam Plant Rd Gallatin, TN 37066 Turn right at the guard shack, then turn right at the gate. Keep to the left on the gravel road that will take you to the range.
  7. I LOVE the Little Red Wagon support vehicle!
  8. Robert, Thank You for a great match with outstanding stages. Very much appreciate all of the time and effort you put into making these matches happen.
  9. Well bring them to the match. I know you can provide enough rifles to them!
  10. This month instead of our normal NRA High Power Rifle Match at the Gallatin Gun Club, we're inviting everyone with Any Rifle to come out to the 100 yard line and shoot a Fun Match. Its a Shoot What You Bring kind of match. We will follow the NRA match course of fire, but with a relaxed atmosphere geared toward letting folks have some exposure to High Power Rifle shooting. The only restrictions on Any Rifle is No Bipod and No Muzzle Break/Compensator. Suppressors are OK..., you paid for that tax stamp come on out and see how accurate you are with it in Standing, Siting, and Prone positions. See the flyer below for more details. As for me...., I'm going vintage with my M1D Sniper! See You On The Firing Line 20 August.
  11. How nice of you Robert to remember us Big Rig shooters! However, I reckon Matt-In-TN will have to carry the full-power flag for this match. While I will be shooting something in 7.62..., this one comes with a x39 case, a short barrel, a single chamber muzzle break...., and a tax stamp. Double Up on you hearing protection folks...., its going to be Loud!
  12. My latest...... NFA Item: SBR Type - eForm 1 Type - Trust Submitted - 11 Feb 2016 Approved - 25 July 2016 165 Days

In May the CMP halted orders to catch up on the backlog of waiting orders. The CMP has a limited staff and the flood of new orders (panic buying) put them behind on inspections and so it made no sense to continue accepting orders until they are caught up. The CMP has halted orders in the past to catch up 2005, 2007, and other times. Once backorders are cleared, an effort will be made to build up some kind of inventory to prevent new orders from overcoming the system. There has been no date released as to when they will begin to take orders again, but they were several months behind when the halt took place. Recommend that you follow this link and sign up for CMP email alerts. https://visitor.r20.constantcontact.com/manage/optin?v=001rJNzy1LBqypni94HOgXhSWSZ5E59fNa_y5QO8ctFAIk6eX709j8svV-z7pi51yqTB-xlv_wO9C0ZQaWBgr68B1EBFSY_yosE
  14. Thanks to all of the GRGC folks for putting together and running today's match. Really enjoyed it, always worth the drive up to Bowling Green to shoot with you. And NO Rain!
  15. BRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I'm still trying to find my "Friends" list that I reckon now are "Followers." Don't see anything on the profile page about those who I follow. I get their recent post, but can't message them like I did with the old system when there was a listing of friends. Am I missing something?
  17. The authors of that story are Frank & Pete Brownells. The "pay us an extra $49 a year and you'll be special" with their Edge shipping program just pisses me off. And to the OP - - - No book for me either.
  18. Sam Hoster in Gallatin. http://www.customdefensellc.com/index.html
  19. Next time have Ranger Blaise run it with some buckshot and show its affect on target! Get the over the shoulder view as he is shooting. I'm thinking one of those 55 gallon blue plastic drums filled with water would be awesome to shoot at.
  20. Just got the email with the Steam Plant Shootout Match Book showing the stages. HOTTTTTTTTTTT- - - DAMNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!! Looking Good. You guys still wanting to shoot this match with those wheel guns!
  21. Hey Coop....., what is the estimated round count?
