    S&W mod. 36

From the 3rd Edition, Page 400. Your BAF prefixed M36 was produced sometime between Jan 1988 to Jul 1988. S&W began to use the three-letter serial prefix in 1980.
  2. Give Ben Schade at the Lebanon Gun Shop a call @ 615-547-9600. Ben is a real-deal rifleman/shotgunner gunsmith. He has done some jobs for me and I have been very happy with his work.
  3. bkelm18 is right. That is why I don't do much business with CDNN. Both AIM & SOG are much better to deal with as a 03 FFL. They are more than happy to take our C&R money.
  4. Happy 88th Birthday to Chuck Yeager. "The Greatest Pilot You Ever Saw....." First man to break the sound barrier on October 14, 1947 Retired in 1975 as a brigadier general, Yeager was promoted to major general on the Air Force's retired list in 2005 by President Bush. He is "The Right Stuff."
  5. And I bet it won't be long until its replaced by a nice S&W Model 19 or 66. BTW, good deal on both firearms!
  6. Sidewinder, You don't have to be a dealer to have a table at a gun show. I have known some dealers who attend a show on their own to sell their personal firearms as a private sale. Also, I see nothing wrong with a dealer walking the show looking for firearms to buy as part of his business. Now, somebody there as a dealer in the business of selling firearms who is trolling the show with a firearm for sale like a private individual..., I agree with you, its a problem if for nothing more than it presents a false picture. I wouldn't buy from a dealer who tried a trick like that. JMHO.

    Baseball!

Just tonight as I looked out across our back field covered in snow I turned to my wife and said...., "OK, enough of this - - - Its time for Baseball."
  8. Yea, that would make for one heck of a New York Reload!
  9. I also went for two. 10 yards, Rapid Fire, 12 rounds each. The lone flyer at the top was the first shot. Not bad for $349.
  10. I saw some for sale at the Lebanon Gun Shop last month. Give them a call and check if they still have them. Lebanon Gun Shop
  11. Did anybody run it without the forward grip? JMHO, but it seems to me that the forward grip shifts the CG moment to low and forward. That could cause a less than idea stroke of the action. Also, with such a short barrel some sort of forward hand stop/guard to keep your hand from going forward of the muzzle would seem to be a good idea. That said, it does look to be a very interesting idea, one with real potential.
  12. But then it wouldn't be like the FBI HRT BHPs. I like the OEM slide stop, sort of one of those things that makes a BHP a BHP. The C&S one has a "modern" angular look that looks out of place to me. Also, among BHP aficionados the C&S slide stop is known to scratch the finish. Getting back on topic. To the OP...., If you find a good BHP for the $500 that others have stated - - - BUY IT, and BUY IT QUICK!!!!!
  13. Here my Novak HRT BHP. Its been my "go-to" carry gun for over 15 years. The only change I have made to it is the Dawson FO front sight. I did that while shooting it in the ESP class of IDPA. I'm thinking about going back to the gold-dot front sight that came with it - - - just because. While I admit that other firearms might be "better" and more "updated" the BHP still seems to fit me better. JMHO.
  14. For those on the east side of Nashville, the Lebanon Gun Shop now has a fulltime gunsmith named Ben Schade. He has done a couple of jobs for me and I've been pleased. What really impressed me was that he emailed me the other day to followed up and check to make sure that his work gave me the results I wanted. It had. You can contact him by calling the shop, 615-547-9600
  15. Yea, keep the barrel and receiver together. There is some good history there that just can't be replaced by screwing in (and maybe even screwing up) a 2011 barrel.
  16. How does it operate? Gas, Recoil, Pump? Agree with Dolomite about Kel-Tec, they do seem to have some interesting design ideas coming out every couple of years. I've used their stuff and the thing that I have learned is to never, ever buy their early production models. JMHO but it seems that they send a product out to the public and allow new buyers to do the beta testing for them. Based on warranty returns, Kel-Tec figures out the fixes and then improves the design for later production runs. Still - - - If this thing works, it could be a game changer in the tactical and 3-Gun world.
  17. Chip McCormick 8 Round Power Mags for all of my .45ACP 1911s. My Delta Elite also runs great with his 9 round CMC Shooting Star. Nothing wrong with Wilson Combat 47Ds..., just that Chip's mag can be had for $8-$10 less. Also, never had a problem with Mec-Gar mags in any of my auto loaders.
  18. BUT...., Be ready that there are some dealers who don't understand what "is" a C&R firearm. They make the mistake of looking at the ATF list of C&R firearms which are the Curios and not a complete list of C&R guns. That list was first developed to cover collectable firearms that were less than 50 years old. The dealers don't read the the opening page of the ATF C&R regs which now states in RED that any firearm 50 years or older is a Relic. If a dealer asks, "Is it on the list..." you'll have some educating to do.
  19. An answer that this Liberal Arts major would have never arrived at. I trust that you are being sarcastic because that would be the most "Non Tac-Cool" meaning to a name for anything with that many pockets.
  20. Hate to risk losing any Tac-Cool points...., But - - - What does "5.11" mean?
  21. Mike, "Stacking" is an Old School method. The penetration of early HPs wasn't always that great. Some folks went with alternating HP and FMJ rounds because of that. It was common practice with some THP guys in order to shoot through car glass and sheetmetal with the FMJ. I knew a couple of troopers who loaded their second spare mag full with FMJ in order to shoot at vehicles. AND then bonded JHPs arrived along with the .357SIG and the need to stack was history.
  22. Yup! Other than the non Yugo pistol grip and the rear sling loop on the wrong side. Atlantic Arms is a good business to deal with..., but I would call them to make sure that its built using a true Yugo kit with the RPK trunnion. Here are a couple of AK forums that are full of AK wisdom. Each has a Yugo section. The AK Forum - Index page The AK Files Forums - powered by vBulletin Enjoy!
