Well please allow me to offer this advice......, Tell everyone that you are Semi-Retired. When folks hear "retired" they'll find stuff for you to do for them and they will expect that you will do it for free! Congratulations - - - You just got some free consulting and my billable hour is $105.00.

'More guns in fewer hands': US study charts rise of hardcore super owners
DMark replied to btq96r's topic in General Chat
Ohhhhh..., Ahhhh..., I was in a panic there for a second or two. 17 TOTAL firearms makes you a Super Owner....... I misunderstood it at first to mean 17 of the Same Type of firearm - - - was thinking I was short a couple of 1911s! -
I knew the moment that you went with my suggestion to try transitioning between targets - - - and you kept good trigger control with your burst - - - that your budget was going to take a hit! Now the only question is...., AK-47 or AK-74?

leftyk82 recently picked one of these up and his comments about soft shooting matches yours. I have the Egyptian Hakim which is the Ljungman design in 8mm. Odd and strange manual of arms for these rifles. I tell everyone that a Garand might give you a smash with "M1 thumb"...., but a Ljungman will produce a violent & traumatic amputation of any careless digit! Just look at that meat cutter!

Really Like the way you show the bolt face rotation. I have tried to describe this action to folks with words, but your illustration nails it. I'll now point folks toward your YouTube channel to explain this. Great Work!

3Gun Match at Middle TN Shooters Club
DMark replied to slowsure's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Are we using IMG or 3GN rules? Trying to game this since I'll be going up against my Heavy Metal colleague Matt in TN. -
Does it have large hole (.315) or standard small hole (.250) for the takedown/pivot pin for the upper and lower receivers? The 1990s were transitional years for Colt and there will be variations. If it has the standard small holes, get another lower for the Colt upper that you have if its a good shooter. Keep the Colt lower or sell it to somebody who has to have that Pony rollmark. Also, trying to find a good trigger that takes the 0.170 inch Colt trigger and hammer pins is a huge PITA. Geissele has them, but they are about $100 more than their other triggers with the standard 0.154 pins.

And to follow up on CatsEye's post, tell us what firearm you have. I can just about guarantee that one or more of us will have the spare gear that you need in our "Pile-of-Holsters" box!

Good Info from both Wiljo05 and sschrick I would offer this recommendation - - - Please DO NOT get a Blackhawk SERPA Holster. They are IMHO unsafe. Too many shooters do not understand the correct placement for their finger to release the locking SERPA Auto Lock (see red arrow in picture). Folks will use the tip of their finger to release the lock, and then as they draw the handgun their finger will touch the trigger and a negligent discharge WILL Happen! At best the shooter gets a disqualification from the round impacting closer than two yards away, at worst the shooter (or somebody else) gets a gunshot wound. Blackhawk makes a very inexpensive holster without the SERPA that they call the Sportster Standard that can be had in the $20-30 range that will do everything you need in IPDA.

Any Rifle Match - Gallatin Gun Club - 20 Aug
DMark replied to DMark's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Every 3rd Saturday at GGC. You can actually shoot any rifle during any of our High Power matches...., just so long as it doesn't have a muzzle brake/comp. Even if the rifle doesn't fit into any of the NRA type categories you can still shoot the match "Out of Competition" and just keep score for yourself. Its a great way to practice the basic marksmanship fundamentals - - - sort of like a baseball player working on his swing in the batting cage. -
Do you know if they will be using the New or Old Bug Rules?
