Headstamp will be FC for Federal or WCC for Winchester along with the NATO "circle +" stamp. Getting back on topic...... The USMC will be using ammunition nomenclature Cartridge, Caliber .45, Ball, M1911 NSN 1305-00-555-7077. It is packaged 50 rounds per carton, 20 cartons per M2A1 ammo can.

Army issue is actually 124 grain M882 9mm NATO which is pressured at 36,500 PSI. When compared to most standard 115 grain, 34,083 PSI 9mm ammo as found at Walmart, the 9mm NATO ammo is running a higher pressure, analogous to a 9mm +P load. The requirement for this higher pressure round can be traced back to the need for it to run in subguns. You'll find that an issued M9 will often short stroke when using the lower pressure "Walmart" ammo. The spring setup is for the higher pressure 9mm NATO. Academy Sports often stocks the M882 and I have seen it pop up at Walmart ever so often. And yes Winchester does load it.

I much as I love the 1911. It would not be my first choice as an issued weapon today. Back in 2002-2003 I took part in the Joint Combat Pistol Program (JCP). The handgun that really impressed me was the FNX-45 Tactical. 15+1 rounds of 45 ACP is a very good thing. http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/fi...fid=FNF062&gid However, I am not saying that the USMC made a bad choice. For the unique mission and the trained end users of this Colt, it is fine weapon.

Isn't it sort of odd that the action of a business can result in a misdemeanor charge for what is otherwise a legal action (HCP)? Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a law that stated that the business would be charged with a misdemeanor if their gunbuster sign wasn't in clear view. There is such a law - - - for the health inspection score.

Sure. No reason not to use them when shooting a 10mm.

Colt Delta Elite = 10mm The factory setup is a dual recoil spring rated at 23 pounds. With the EGW flat base firing pin stop and the guide rod you can get down to a 20 pounds on the recoil spring when shooting "FBI Lite" range loads. 22 pounds seems to be the happy spot for this DE running hotter loads. I'm also running a 20 pound mainspring.

Trust me, the sides are very, very flat. Again, just my poor photography. What appears to be waves are the reflection of tree limbs overhead. I took these pics outside trying to find better light. The polishing and the deep blue job made this one hard to capture in a picture. Depends on how we count Delta Elites. This is my third one, but its the only "current" one in my carrying rotation. And of course its in 10mm. I've come late to the cult of 38 Super. Its a great round IMHO. Why anyone would want to force a 1911 to run 9mm when the 38 Super is already there (and designed for the 1911) is a total mystery to me. TMF 18B, Agree with all you stated. "Murkiness" of the law doesn't do anybody any good. From my undergrad education in political science, I know that this will require the council members to do something they hate to do - - - admit that they passed a poor law. The best way to fix this will be a low-key effort that lets the professional politicans off the hook by passing a correction that is hidden inside a bigger bill.

Forgive me - - - By your question, I can only assume that you've never seen an 1980s production Delta Elite. Here is a before picture with most all of the finish gone on the slide. I kept this build simple. The custom shop had to replaced and recut the grip safety to fix the poor install by the other gunsmith. Adding the heavy duty Trijicon night sights along with the lowered and flared ejection port was done to give it the look of a Colt Special Combat Government as they were made back in the 1990s. Sorry for the poor after photos. My limited skills in photography were exceeded by the bright reflection coming off the deep blue finish as applied by the Colt Custom Shop. Good Day!
