Multi Gun - Music City Tactical Shooters
DMark replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Michael, On stages 1 and 2, when you say Rifle and/or Pistol, does that mean you could shoot the stage all pistol or all rifle? Just trying to figure out which longarm to bring - - - and maybe a little gamer thinking also. -
Anyone see the Wilson County student packet?
DMark replied to Bill4282's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Already Done. The Teacher's Union in Tennessee lost its collective bargaining power in Tennessee a couple of years ago. Therefore what is left of the union is really a non-player today. In fact the union never really represented the vast majority of teachers in this right-to-work state. Its biggest membership was teachers AND administrators in the Metro Nashville & Memphis city school systems. Teachers aren't the problem - - - even if that is what the politicians want you to believe. -

Agree. Sometimes I want to tell the move-ins that those old front license plates from California, New York, New Jersey, etc., etc., just aren't funny anymore. I especially dislike those Pittsburgh Steelers bumper stickers! :yuck: I fear that West Wilson County could become the next Colorado. -

Sam Hoster 615-206-0075 Not a lot that Sam doesn't know about 1911s. He is the man has built a lot of custom firearms for a gunshops who claim them as their work (Uselton). -

For the work you want - - - Jeff Walle. When you are ready to have some metal cut and shaped - - - Tim Calhoun. I have used both of them on several of my 1911s over the years. Never a disappointment. -

Susan Lynn. But this is a local matter. I would recommend that the school principal be contacted first. If that doesn't work, then the school superintendent. Then the school board member that covers that school. Then the School Board Chairman. Then the county commissioner. Then the county mayor. THEN if none of those help - State Representative Susan Lynn. -
Yup, our old Clinton buddy HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros's idea. The same Cisneros who had lied to FBI investigators during his background checks about his many payoffs to mistress to keep her quiet. that was the program we were dealing with in "FayetteNAM." Looks like Barry O's folks are going to do a replay!
-
Clinton's HUD did this as a pilot program back in the mid-90s in "selected" areas. One was Fayetteville NC because of the high number of rental units due to nearby Ft. Bragg. It was Damn-Ugly.

Without any hard proof (actual flyer) or even the name of the school....., I don't see how. -

Bill4282, Critically important that we know which school this came from. -
1. FAL 2. M14 3. G3 I have carried and fired all three in their military issued configuration. Today I own all three in their semi-auto civilian version. - The FAL is the best overall battle rifle due to its ergonomics, ease of maintenance, tough reliability and "minute-of-chest" accuracy. It does everything well. - The M14 is the most accurate battle rifle due to its great trigger and outstanding sights. A very good choice for a DMR. - The G3 will shoot any sorry-ass ammo that you can put in it, it does not care. Has poor ergonomics for "running the gun" and the most felt recoil. None of them are worth a SH*T firing full-auto. All of them are heavy to carry as well as the ammo to feed them (one of the reason that the Infantry is a young man's sport). JMHO....., but based on my real experiences with each weapon.

Tragic loss in the shooting community
DMark replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Together, Russell Lee, Scott Craig, and I ran some of the early IDPA matches at GGC back in the late 90s. Russell was in the group of the first 25 SOIs in the sport. He signed off my SO card in 2001 and I still have it on my range bag. He was the first guy I ever saw with a Kydex holster. He was the first guy I ever saw shooting in 5.11 Pants. And you are right Robert....., I'm sure Russell is now busting all over Andy about those powder puff loads he would shoot. Farewell. -
Also, earlier production dates might not be found at that link. You can call Colt at (800) 241-2485 and they will tell you the date of production based on the serial number. You can also find production here. Look under semi-auto and select Combat Commander. http://www.proofhouse.com/colt/index.html

Sea_Dog Your Father's Colt Combat Commander is finished in satin nickel. It appears to be in excellent condition which is great news since satin nickel is very delicate and therefore tends to be not that durable of a finish on a firearm. Colt quit making satin nickel models around 1984 when the stainless steel models appeared. The small factory sights have been replaced with Millet sights front and rear. The grips of course are Hogue held by aftermarket hex head screws. The Colt medallion stocks (the factory calls them stocks, not grips) are usually walnut, but by the color and grain these could be Coco Bolo. Having the factory box is a big plus. Its a fine looking 1911. You Dad had very good taste.

In my continuing 30 + year effort to get my wife interested in the shooting sports, I had her view Bonnie as she shot the stages. My wife's comment...., "I like Bonnie's nails - - - Ask her what color that is....." :waiting: -
Why? OH WHY? Did I click onto this thread..... :wall: I have all of these Garand and 1911 projects to finish up and now I SEE THIS! Tag for future reference - - - :dirty:

Bill4282, First off - - - Welcome to TGO. Not wishing to call you out on this...., But can we see what this flyer looked like and how and where you grandchild was given it? I have a personal and direct relationship with a key member of the school board. Since he is a long-time Life member of the NRA (as well as a FFL holder) I'm sure he would interested in how this might have come about, but I'll need details before I bring it to his attention. PM me if you wish. -

Those are some good looking stages! -
In Tennessee? Should would like to know what city you are talking about with a 90% retirement so that I can tell my LEO son where to go. Also, many teachers in this state work second jobs in the summer because of their low pay.

Holder just doesn't understand the facts - - - hard thing for a Lib to do anyway. TM didn't employ Stand Your Ground since its sort of hard to retreat when you are on your back and the attacker is beating on you mixed martial arts style.

TDS has just run fiber into out area. I have Comcast High Speed & all of the HD upgrades...., the cost of which is now at the level of a nice used car payment. TDS is almost $100 less so I'm interested in switching. Anybody out there using the TDS fiber after having Comcast?
