  1. Curly Bill Brocius approves the above message!
  2. Get your hair buzzed first down with electric clippers as close to the scalp as possible.    Take a hot shower.   After the shower shave your head using a new razor the same as you would your face.   Apply some after-shave conditioner.
  3. Folks....., John is right.   This is a Great Match for anyone thinking about getting into the competitive shooting sports.    Its also a very good match to shoot your Every Day Carry firearm.  You know the one, its the handgun you won't consider for competition because its too small & light - - - Yet you plan on defending your life with it!  Here is a match that will let you test your skills using that EDC while on the timer.
  4. Here is one of the big reasons that the USAF went out and got the A-10 in the first place. Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne Attack Helicopter. They couldn't stand the idea that the Army would have an Attack Aircraft that could do the CAS mission that it (USAF) hated to do. With a 275 cruise speed, the test program used a P-51 Mustang as the chase plane. I love my Apache...., but I would have given my left nut to have flown the Cheyenne! The High-Hot performance of the AH-56 would have been welcomed decades later in Afghanistan. Even using its 1960s technology, it still would have been able to carry more ordnance with a longer station time than todays's AH-64D Apache Longbows. Here is also a little known and forgotten fact. The A-10s were slated to be retired in 1990-92. This was after the USAF offered them to the Army which turned down since the USAF only wanted to give them the airframes and not the people, parts, and budget to fly and fix them. Then Desert Storm came around and the HOG (along with my Apaches) proved their worth. :bat:
  5.   Please provide the exact and factual common code standards that require what you are suggesting.    I'll help you out...., here is the complete curriculum so that you can research it.    http://www.tncurriculumcenter.org/common_core   I have read the entire common core and there isn't anything in it that does what you are accusing.    And BTW - - - Common Core was developed by the states, Not the Feds.
  6. A lot of :tinfoil: out there about Common Core.   Its a base core of standards by grade level.   Local school boards select the means to reach those base standards.   Local school boards are not restricted from selecting a curriculum that will go above those base standards.   --------   The Real Problem within this state is Governor Haslam's selection of Kevin Huffman as the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Education.   Huffman is an arrogant SOB.
  7.   Hey Tim,   Who was the maker of the 1911s that you had the external extractor problems?   Mark
  8. Both are excellent 1911s, however right now I have to give my SIG TAC OPS the edge over my SA Fully Loaded. Perhaps its the "latest shiny object syndrome" affect, but the SIG just seems to be the better shooter of the two to me. Then again...., my Loaded has near 20,000 rounds through it - - - Maybe its time for it to be sent back home to SA's Custom Shop for some pimping. :dirty: BTW, this is what holster wear looks like on stainless steel after thousands of presentations........
  9. I can't help but think that Barry Hussein the O. is taking a page out of the Bill Clinton's playbook - - - NO NOT that Playbook (by Monica).   We did a number of "Wag-The-Dog" operations during Clinton's second term once the Lewinsky deal "blew" up.  The biggest being the Yugoslav/Serbia/Kosovo/Albania/Macedonia, et al, operation in 1999.   Nothing like a war to divert coverage of a scandal(s).  :ugh:
  10. 18 hours after the CINC issues the order. Been There..., Done That out of Green Ramp a Couple of Times. Didn't get a T-Shirt, but did earn a couple of these on my right sleeve. :tough: ATW - ABN!
  11. Batman, I think you are going to be Very Happy when you get your HRA.   The Service Grade rifles that I have seen coming out of the CMP in the past couple of months have been Outstanding!  :woohoo:
  12.   You will get an e-mail from the CMP that it has your order.  This is the famous CMP forum nicknamed "DBU - Don't Bug Us" which is just an informal term used on that forum.  You should get that email from the CMP in about a week or two.  Don't waste your time calling.    Depending on what you ordered, it could be another couple months before you get an email from the CMP that it has have begun processing your order.  Once this process begins, it could be 30-90 days until the order is shipped.
  13. Of course the Wilson County Boys would like a "Heavy Metal" division in future matches.  :bat:   My suggestion for the stages is to use only scenario based COFs.  You could just re-use stages that worked well in earlier IDPA matches.  Just add a couple of long shots and you are set.   The stages where we had to count the shots-and the order of the shots-and the targets that were shot-and in what order were the shots-and the location of the shots-and from which position were the shots......., those are just mind games that don't do much for any tactical practice that you should be really trying to achieve in these sort of matches.   Besides, I'm a liberal arts major and all of that counting hurts my head.
  14. In 1993, the Bill Clinton White House sold the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) as a way to aid Mexican and American workers.  The Senate, controlled by Democrats, approved the treaty on its first reading.    Ross Perot predicted that because the deal included no basic labor standards, it would cause a huge "wage differential between the United States and Mexico" that would result in "the giant sucking sound" of American jobs heading south of the border.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkgx1C_S6ls   The International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union was once one of the largest unions in the US with a membership over 450,000 at its peak.   Today it is gone.
  15.   As we were doing our walk-through of the shoot house my cousin Darren looked down and picked up a fired case and said, "Look HXP 30.06...., John had already shot this stage!"
  16.   Thanks Rick!   And a Tip-Of-The-Cap to John and his "3Gun" Garand.
  17. The Wilson County Boys had a great time running their Main Battle Rifles (M14s). I have to admit that we did not consider the competitive dis-advantage we would be up against in the shoot-house stage while engaging the dual steel swingers that were setup for the light and soft tapping of 55g 5.56mm. The shack-down from our 147 grains of Full-Metal-Jacket,God-Of-War 7.62mm ammo created such a shock wave of impact on the steel that the second plate became a twirling, spinning and blurred mass of metal until it too has hammered by massive display of superior down-range muzzle velocity! :tough: It was Fun! Time to reload our magazines........
  18.   Enjoy it for now.    On 1 Oct 2013 the Texas Star becomes a dis-allowed target in IDPA (Rule 4.19).
  19.   I have one.      The receiver has a number of lighten cuts to reduce the weight of the carbine.  It was document by the British Army that this did cause a lost of accuracy (so-called wandering zero) as the weapon heated up and the receiver began to flex.  Once the carbine cooled down, the accuracy (zero) would come back.    So what is ready happening is not that the carbine is losing its zero, its groups are opening up - - - sometimes in odd and random fashion.    Can't say that I have ever noticed this while shooting mine.  Then again I'm not shooting a jungle carbine as a rate-of-fire that would heat it up as much as a soldier in combat.
  20. Pincus is just another one of those gunfighting experts who has never been in a gunfight.   Besides, Rob is a Norwich grad who was commissioned as an Air Defense officer - - - and Everybody knows that something just isn't right if a Norwich alumnus isn't an Armor/Cavalry officer!
  21.   The Blue Ridge is a dang Cross Country, Orienteering Meet with firearms.  They must of done a far better job on your knee than the Army did on mine if you are looking forward to it.   :D     Just now found the scores on ARFCOM.   http://www.lchico5u.com/ProAmResults.html   I can see what you are talking about in regard to stage 2.   But if it was me - - -  I'd be talking Big SH*T about beating Todd Jarrett on a couple of the stages.  Well Done DBTN!
