  1. JMHO......,   I would leave them alone.    They can only be original once.   As you have described them, the rifles are an honest reflection of their history.    I know there are folks who spend a lot of time and money trying to make their military rifles "correct" and all matching, but what they are doing is removing the true lineage of the firearm.  I fully understand replacing a worn, damage or repo part with the correct part.  However trying to achieve a re-creation of how the rifle looked the day it departed the armory is sort of a false statement in my mind.  However, I do feel different about taking a rifle that has been sporterized and returning it to its military configuration.  That is mostly because "bubba-smithing" is known for being just a poor hack job.      And Besides - - - If you have ever been around soldiers cleaning weapons you know that no one is worried that all the parts "matching" for future collectors.   Again, JMHO.
  2. Interesting that their email address is....   "stabagunnut@........."
  3. Looks like one of the Wilson County Boys won the night Weapon Light.   Well Done Danny!
  4. Well........ :waiting: It was clear to everyone in our squad that the Day match shooters did a Sorry, and I mean SORRY job of Zombie Killing! The Living Dead came out in all of their Metal Madness in Stage 3, Bay 3. This weapon..., along with a mortar section popping illum in the night sky, would have been very helpful. :dirty:
  5. Aug 2013.   Harry Reid Says ObamaCare Just A Step Toward Single-Payer.   http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/08/10/sen-harry-reid-obamacare-absolutely-a-step-toward-a-single-payer-system/   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXgSKwYMnWo
  6. I know that BN very well.
  7. Good moon for Saturday night.   Moonrise - 4:12 PM  Moonset - 5:32 AM   Illumination - 99.8%     John,   Any round count limits on the mags for the night match?    Can we load them to their "Designed Capacity?"
  8.   Hmmmmm...., I wonder if 173rdABN will let me borrow his MP5?  :dirty:
  9. Michael,   Handgun only for the Night match, or is it also open for rifles with a weapon light?   Mark
  10.   Now I understand why you are a Blacksmith!   Lord knows you guys have to beat on some metal to keep those old Phrogs in the air.
  11. Tncobra,   I had some size issues with my patches so I just kept the VFW pin as my avatar.
  12. My Combat Patches. Airborne! Air Assault! One of the things that I liked about the ACUs was the Velcro for the unit patches. I could change my combat patch out depending on the "audience." As a side note, I had a good friend who was a "Four-Patch All American" with combat tours with the 82ABN in Grenada, Panama, Desert Storm, and the GWOT.
  13.   I think that was the first time that I have ever seen somebody do a "Rounds Dump" into a NT........    Fun Match.  Good Squad.
  14. As the amendment was written, "well regulated" meant "well drilled."    Use of the term "militia" implied a duty to be armed and trained.    All of this was to ensure the blessing of liberty and protect it against those who would suppress it.   What foresight the founders had.
  15. Weather is looking good for this Saturday. I think its going to be a Super sort of day for me!
  16.   Allow me to apply some judgment because I am far more contemptuous of Yeager's immediate follow-on actions (or non-actions) right after the first contact.  Please see my comments below.     Dolomite_supafly's remarks astutely points out why Yeager's actions are so extraordinarily distasteful to many of us.    Its not about running away and jumping into the culvert .   Its about staying and hiding in the culvert and doing nothing for several minutes even while others in his team are trying to maneuver under fire to support those in the lead vehicle.   And perhaps worst of all - - - his postings on a couple of online forums within hours of the engagement trying to spin a story in his favor by assessing blame on the overall team and dead team members themselves.   But there was a problem with that, Yeager forgot that the trail vehicle had a dash-cam.
  17. Well at 0:48 they did one thing right about the round's namesake......., "For High Risk Civilian Contractors who like to Fold Under Pressure......"
  18.   What make of 1911 were you running?
  19.   Well it was a Very Nice wedding.   AND to keep this post firearms related in regard to future competitive shooting......, the groomsmen presented my cousin with a SIG 1911 TACOPS as a wedding gift!   :woohoo:   (BIG Thanks to 173rdABN for finding the SIG)
  20. This is going to sound harsh....    This is because it needs to be harsh......   This was not an accident.....   This was negligence on both of you.    There is a reason that professionals and trained individuals will always Unload and Show Clear to demonstrate the safety of any firearm that they hand to someone else.  The person accepting the firearm must also verify the unloaded and cleared state of the firearm.   Rule # 1.  All Guns Are Always Loaded - - - AND you must ALWAYS account that others WILL NOT understand that.
  21. Looks like its going to be a Great Match.   Hate that I will have to miss it this year.  Cousin getting married this Saturday.  If I was to go he'll be P**SED off that I got to shoot the match and he didn't.   Besides, I also don't want to be "De-Invited" from the family Thanksgiving & Christmas......, for decades to come!  :ugh:   Be Safe, Good Shooting!
  22.   How about a $625 Garand from the CMP?      RM1SAS M1 Garand, SA (Springfield) Service Grade $625 S&H $24.95 per rifle   http://www.odcmp.com/Sales/m1garand.htm   And they are in stock.
