  1.   Hmmmm...., now that you mentioned it - - - I do have all of the correct parts on hand.  :dirty:
  2.   No LEAD!   That means it will make all of the tree huggers happy because its a Green product!  :pleased:
  3. Way back on page 1 of this thread (post # 12) I wondered what Mae was up to.     Looks like Clark Boyd might be the reason.    http://www.lebanondemocrat.com/article/wilson-county-elections/324351
  4.   Oh I know Mae very well.  I asked her last year what she did to bring on the Wrath of Ramsey, but she isn't talking.
  5. Not sure what Mae Beavers is up to with these bills.   She must have done something that really pissed off Ron Ramsey before last year's General Assembly.  The Lt. Gov took her out of the most important committees just days before they went into session.  With no real power in the state senate anymore, maybe Beavers is just tossing up this red-meat stuff in an attempt to stay in the spotlight.   Meanwhile......, Susan Lynn stays quiet.    Hmmmmmm.
  6. I'm with you Dolomite_supafly in regard to Midway.   For over 20+ years it use to be simple and straight forward dealing with Midway.  I had the FFL discount, so making a big order would more than offset any shipping.  I would often find myself ordering items from both Midway and Brownells at the same time and it was almost like the green flag had dropped and both companies were in a race to have their goods shipped to me first.   Now......, Midway seems to be in the "We get to You When We get to You."   Also, I didn't much care for the "Happy Horse Sh*t" email that was sent to us when Midway stopped the FFL discount.  That email had Larry telling us how much better it was going to be with all of the coupons and discounts and free shipping on stuff I don't want.    Now - - - Well is seems like everyday I get several Midway "spam" emails pushing stuff that I can go to Academy Sports to get.

Hey R1100R - - - Once you get back from out west, we have got to get together for you to show me that Longslide 1911.   I have another Colt .38 Super project coming together and I've been thinking about turning it into my BBQ gun....., Which of course requires engraving!
  8.   Contact the GGC sec/treasurer to see if the wait list is currently open.  ronjackson@comcast.net   At the last club meeting it was noted that there are about 175-200 folks on the list.  We are limited on the number of members we can have because the range is located on TVA land (long old ago deal - - - its sort of complicated).    BUT, no membership is required when taking part in a competitive match being run by the club.  Benchrest, IDPA, Hi Power Rifle, Small Bore Rifle, and ATA Trap matches are all held at the GGC.   Here is the link for the dates when matches are held.   http://www.gallatingun.com/
  9.   Just wait in the parking lot near the gate and one of us will card you in.    Please don't pull right up to the gate, we can't get to the card-pass box if you do.
  10. My son began shooting IDPA when he was 14.  You might want to visit one of the local matches to see if that would interest him.   Also, at the Gallatin Gun Club Service Rifle Matches, we have several coaches on the line to instruct.  I'm one of them.
  11. Robert,   Thanks so much with the "No Cover Garments" for this match.    With a forecast high this Saturday of 58......, we won't be acclimated yet for that sort of high temperature!
  12.   YES!  YES!  YES!   :woohoo:   Old School He-Man HEAVY METAL!!!!!!!   7.62x51 - Pump Shotgun - 45ACP = = = Bring On the PAIN!!!!!!!    Looks like I'll be taking the FAL and my old Scattergun Technologies 870 out of retirement.
  13.   The "auto forward" reload from slide lock is the one "feature" of the M&P that I don't like.   I prefer sending the slide forward into battery myself during the reload.  That may be an old training scar for me.  Having a USGI issued 1911 do a auto forward was a sure sign that the top round wasn't going to be picked up.   I admit that its nice having the speed of the auto forward - - - IF it was 100% all the time.  So far my 9Pro is about 99% of the time.   Of course that 1% is always during a stage where the COF forces a final reload to take one last shot!  :yuck:
  14.   +1 for Apex Tactical.    I have the complete Apex Competition Action Enhancement kit on my 9Pro...., but it was only later when I installed the RAM (Reset Assist Mechanism) that I felt I had a trigger that was just right.   Beats me why S&W can't or won't make the Pro that way right out of the box.
  15. Hey there ABN....., don't forget your old battle buddies when it comes time to "break" those cans in!
  16. My wife and I have been supporting Fisher House ever since we saw them building a house at Bragg back in the mid 90s.    http://www.fisherhouse.org/   A new Fisher House just opened in Murfreesboro on the York VA campus.  WWP will NEVER get so much as a dime from us. I once had soldiers who needed some help with some family travel.  My CSM contacted WWP and was told that No Direct Funding is ever provided to service members, but programs to support them are available.  Try asking WWP to define what they mean by "programs and projects" and you will find out that they include events where Vets are used for fund drives.  WWP is big on providing 'retreats" for wounded or injured soldiers and their caregivers like fishing and sport events (and WWP makes sure that the cameras are rolling and WWP staffers are also along for a free ride....).    So, I don't Like WWP.   But here are the facts.  Below are the links from Charity Navigator that ranks the percent of the charity’s budget spent on the programs and services it delivers. Fisher House is at 96.6% http://www.charitynavigator.org/inde...5#.UqJzWj-A270 WWP is at 57.9% http://www.charitynavigator.org/inde...2#.UqJztD-A270   In other words, give a dollar to Fisher House and 97 cents goes to support soldiers and their families.  Give a dollar to WWP and only 58 cents gets to a wounded warrior. And In Closing......   Fisher house is also one of only three military charities given an A+ rating by the American Institute of Philanthropy’s Charity Watch. http://www.charitywatch.org/toprated.html#veterans
  17.   Dang....., You forgot the James Yeager threads!  :stir:
  18. That is the perfect example of bureaucracy = a body of non elective government officials who can make up complicated rules for things that don't exist. We live in a time of tyrannical control by agencies and departments that issue dysfunctional regulations that have direct interference over liberty. Any member of Congress who proposes a law that has the passage "The secretary shall decide....." should be run out of town on a rail after a good old fashion tar & feather. It worked in the past.
  19. I've had Comcast now for 15 years.  Service is OK, but my "bundle" is a decade old.    My per month cost would pay for a very nice late-model car.   TDS has installed their fiber-optic system in my area and claims to offer everything Comcast does for about $100 less.  I'm looking for somebody who has gone with TDS and their results with the fiber-optic.
  20.   Agree.    Don't forget that the Dems controlled both houses of the state General Assembly for decades.  The GOP being the majority is very recent.   Just think what would have happened in early 2013 if that sorry SOB Jimmy Naifeh (Dem - Covington) was still the speaker of the house and that poor, old and senile John Wilder (Dem - District 26) was still the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the Senate.   They would have been marching in step with Joe Biden and drinking all of that Barry Hussein Kool-Aid.
