  1. Hey Robert,   Can we also shoot the Stage 1 steel with a pistol cal. carbine?   Mark
  2. If...., and that is a BIG IF so long as BHO is still around...., this happens they'll have to build a camp ground at the South Store for all of the folks waiting for the door to open on 1911 sale day!   :hyper:
  3.   That has to be the best looking cut-down & shaved FSB that I have ever seen.   Well Done!
  4.     Be very, Very, careful btq96r.   173rdABN will take one look at that 16 inch barrel and he'll have you efile another Form1 right then and there so that he can crop it down for another lower!    I think his rule is that there is no such thing as too many SBRs!  :tough:     Heck he was eyeing my 14.7 pinned and welded M4 today wanting to "Make it Right."   :dunno:
  5.   A church service (or for that matter a wedding or funeral) is the perfect ankle carry situation.    You are for the most part sitting down, and it keeps all those huggie/touchie/feelie folks of faith from getting that surprised look on their face when they are just filled with the spirit and have to expressed themselves with a grasp around your waist.     Nothing like seeing that little old church lady jump back like she had touch the devil himself having felt a Cocked & Locked firearm on your hip.
  6. This thread needs some Bulldog! - Gus
  7.   No Way.   Don't you know that free-hand with a Dremel is how its done!  :stir:
  8.   You mean the Wilson Combat Professional that has the 4.0 barrel and therefore not a "true" Commander since If it isn't a Colt, Its just a copy.        But then....., I reckon Joyce Wilson wouldn't want to hurt any of Bill's sales.  :squint:   But you're right, with the M&P full size having a 4.25 incher, CCP would have just become a reduced round count SSP of the normal Glock vs S&W fight.
  9.   Thus making sure that those of us who carry one of the original CCP firearms, 1911 Commander - 4.25 barrel, can't play in that division!
  10. Hey El Guapo,   How big are the steel targets @ 220?  I forgot.   Mark
  11.   To achieve full Redneck Deer Hunting status....., we'll need to include the four-wheeler in a night match using a spot-light!   Just something I once hear about, maybe from a story told to me by a cousin - - - or was it an uncle?
  12.   Only after one of my re-shoots and together we re-set the stage.
  13. Great Stage designs with a good amount of no-shoots and action props...., and nobody came close to shooting the ATV.    Didn't mind at all being called out of the bullpen to SO.   Perhaps its time to start thinking about bringing back the Summer Sizzler!!!!!!
  14. Strange.  :squint:   2 dot would be the newest version.  Its 1:10 twist is suppose to take care of the earlier generation's bullet weight sensitive issue.      Mine is the 1st Gen with the 1:18.75 twist barrel.  It Loves 124g..., Likes 115g..., Hates 147g.
  15. Something isn't right.    My M&P 9Pro is accurate to the extreme!   When they first came out, there were some reports that the 9Pro preferred heavier bullets (124 -147g) but my 2010 production model groups 115g just fine.
  16.   Its not so much a who gets a penalty as it is the stated responsibilities for Safety Officers found in Chapter 2, page 68 of the rulebook.    2.1 Description - - - SO's ..... goal and purpose is to see that all shooters have a safe and enjoyable IDPA match experience by supervising and directing the shooter through each match Course of Fire......   The term "supervising and directing" is the one that makes lawyers ears perk up, any wavier be damned.
  17. Who is the maker of the rail?   Who is the maker of the upper?
  18.   I wish it was that way.   At a local match, the first time that I can see the results of that significant time and money is when I tell the new-shooter-to-me, "Load & Make Ready."    Until I can see their gun-handling skills  - - - How can I know that this is the next Rob Leatham or Julie Golob who has come to the line...., or just somebody who spent a lot of money on a nice Wilson Combat?     Having seen professionals who I trust make mistakes with things that go bang & boom, perhaps that might explain why I am a bit over cautious around those who just show up at a local club match and wish to draw, move and shoot while making me responsible for their safety and everyone around them.   But in an attempt to get back on topic.  I can see where sanctioned matches (especially Tier 4 & 5) might want to employ squad loading for a bit of time savings.
  19. Way - Way - WAY Back during some of the ancient and early Proof of Principle tactical pistol matches that would become IDPA..., at the end of the stage you were given the command "Reload/Top-Off, Make Ready, & Holster."   In fact you were expected to arrive Condition 1, remain Condition 1 and depart Condition 1.   I think it was an attempt to NOT be like some other un-spoken pistol shooting sport.   The squad "Load & Make Ready" was popular for a while, but I haven't seen it done for several years.  The issue that made that procedure problematic was local range rules that required firearms to remain cold until ready to be fired.       Like DBTN, I agree that All Guns are Always Loaded.   Yet....., SOing a squad with several folks behind me that I just met and have no idea their level of training and experience..., well it gives me pause to think that they might be tempted to fondle, touch, stroke and caress lovingly their newest cool-kid blaster.   And you just know where their strong hand index finger will always go.........
  20. Route Irish from the International Airport to the Green Zone was always an interesting ride......  :panic:
  21. I really like my BM 530.  Its my "Business Attire" EDC folder.    1.9oz and super thin, you really do forget that you have it clipped on.  Because of that its the knife most-likely that will get a good cleaning in the washing machine since you forgot to remove it!   :ugh:
  22. Robert,   Just to help out....., you can go ahead and drop my Stage 1 score.   You're Welcome!  :pleased:      Mark
  23.   Maybe she was conveying the realization that she had been lied to all of these years about "Us."   BTW, good seeing you and 221 Fireball at the meeting!
  24.    :stunned:   :dirty:   :dropjaw:
  25.   There sure are some tall guys in the picture!  I know a couple of them.  ;)   Saw 173rdABN, 221 Fireball, itchytriggerfinger, and several others among my best 70,000 friends today at the NRA show.   Might have seen more, but I was "heads-down" a lot looking at and feeling up all of the NFA stuff!
