Well...., I picked the Wrong Dang Day to have tickets to the Titan game! :wall: -
I'm going to hang on to my one EOTech for now. Having had a less than enjoyable experience dealing with L3 as the Army's User Proponent on a multi billion dollar program....., I'm going to wait and see if the checks-in-the-mail really ever arrive. I wouldn't put it pass those SOBs to put EOTech into bankruptcy and then sell the return inventory to Cheaper than Dirt. :yuck:

Hats off to Gallatin Gun Club IDPA Saftey Officers
DMark replied to captainstone's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
I think she will be back along with the other new shooter who was her boyfriend. They were both getting better and better as the match went along. captainstone, thanks for the kind comments. I want to express my thanks to Gerry from the Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green who also stepped up to help. Having another experienced SO getting the next new shooter ready along with his set of eyeballs watching trigger fingers and muzzles made all the difference for everybody. Its good to be reminded what it was like to walk up cold to that first match. I trust we were welcoming. -
To stop getting mail from the NRA, just call membership service at 1-877-672-2000 or 703-672-1000. Simply ask them to remove you from the their mailing list and they will do so. You will still get your magazine, but the money begging stuff will end.

This popped up Sunday night while BHO was on TV. NRA Life membership - $300 https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp?campaignid=XM026737 Enjoy! Mark UPDATE - - - Appears that the $300 Life was a FBHO special that is no longer active. However, I still encourage everyone to consider joining the NRA now before the rates go up 1 Jan 2016.

Nope..., she married well enough as it is. But - - - You should think of the less "Belt-Fed Fortunate" and include the names of those poor souls in whatever trust beneficiaries list you might have. :x: -

Let Kristen know that while this video isn't on Facebook........ ......, The Delightful & Wonderful Mrs. Kari (She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed, U.S. Army Wife, Retired) has reviewed this thread and wishes to pass on her complements for a job well done. She also commented that it was a good thing that both you and Kristen are happily married, otherwise I would be shopping our firearm enthusiast daughter (also married) toward you as a future wife. Now that I think about it, having a Son In Law with a 07/02 FFL wouldn't be all that bad a thing. -

I would highly recommend that you and your son attend a Project Appleseed event. I know that these clinics have been held at AEDC in Tullahoma, but check the link below for locations and dates. https://appleseedinfo.org/ Appleseed is a rifle marksmanship training program that focuses on standing, sitting/kneeling, and prone positions over a two day weekend shooting clinic. These are the bed-rock shooting skills that will follow you for a lifetime. Since you son is 13 and as you have said a "small frame skinny boy" now is the time to build the foundation of marksmanship that he will grow into as a young man. Be it Bench Rest, 3Gun, FClass, IDPA, etc., etc., Appleseed will provide the best building blocks to enter into those competitive sports. I have personally witnessed 12-13 year olds start with an Appleseed clinic who are now giving us "Seasoned & Experienced" shooters a run for the money in just a couple of years.

Have you or your son had any firearm training provided by a certified instructor, trainer, or coach?
-
Are you referring to Bench Rest when you use "BR?" Have you or your son had any formal firearm training?

JMHO......, I would start him in something like the Steel Matches that MCTS run in Dickson. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/92336-mcts-outlaw-steel-match-saturday-11212015/ He'll be able to see how a match is conducted while under the control and direction of a Safety/Range Officer. Also, nothing works better to lock in your shooting than going against steel. The steel being hit is an instantaneous feedback that everything worked (sight alignment-sight picture-trigger press). 3Gun by its nature is a very challenging sport. You have be well trained and experienced in three very different types of firearms to be successful. A young/new shooter can be quickly overwhelmed and frustrated if they are not well practiced and trained in the fundamentals of "running the gun." You might also consider checking out an IDPA match. Manchester might be one near you. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/92271-idpa-1122-mtsc-manchester/ AND....., if he is really interested in long range shooting checkout NRA F Class as conducted by Mid-South Marksman at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) range, in Tullahoma http://www.midsouthmarksmen.com/ Be Safe!

Here is my cliff note on Hazlitt..... - - - Behind almost every problem in economics, you will find politicians who focus on short term policies without any regard or appreciation for the long term.

Just Inherited Lots of New Firearms - Need Help Appraising
DMark replied to Hammer285's topic in Show and Tell
Your 1903A3 was produced in July 1943. The barrel date will be located on the top of the barrel right behind the front sight. There are several parts of the rifle that can be ID as to its production, but that requires a detail inspection. I'm in the Mt. Juliet area and would be more than happy to look over your rifle and provide whatever insight I can in regard to its condition and correctness. Since I already own several 03s, you won't have to worry about me trying to low-ball you to buy it. Best of all....., if found to be in good condition we can go shoot it! -
Well once the Braves fell to about..., what was it like 20+ games behind, I started looking around for somebody else to pull for. I was really liking the Blue Jays after they signed David Price and with R.J. Dickey on the team there was a good Tennessee connection. Once they went away, I got to thinking that maybe the movie Back to the Future Part II that predicted the Cubbies would sweep the World Series had it right. Well...., maybe next year Cubs Fans! So....... Its KC for me. I can't see the Mets getting past that Royals bullpen

Bringing down the Hate upon those running dogs in Stage 2....... ........., Too Bad I so locked in on those mutts that I didn't see the two other FULL SIZE targets to my right. Those cardboard punks were so unimpressed with my shooting that they must have figured that it was safe enough to take a picture!!!!!!! "Down Ten & a Failure X 2" :wall: -
