    Tommy Gun

Two possiblilities about this pic a) it's a WWII era pic (there's a military look to it) or these are not real Auto-Ordinance full auto Thompsons, but rather the semi-auto version. all the real Thompson's I've seen are going for between $25k-45k per, too rich for my blood.
  2. If I didn't have a mortgage and a gun addiction, I'd do it for free!!!!! I feel very blessed because not many people can say that.
  3. It doesn't use the words "or if" it uses the words "and if". I would conclude that language would mean you have to meet both criteria, not one or the other.
  4. You forgot to bold type the last part. In other words, you better not actually have the springs that make it work.

    WADDAYATHANK?

Dick's or Academy puts a Rossi, H&R or a NEF single shot on sale practically every week usually for around $100.00. But buying from them's a bitch, you have to sign your life away in paperwork.
  6. You have to buy the extended warranty from the Rabbi to collect your winnings. I think those warranties go for about $700.00 but they give you piece of mind.
  7. I agree about Campfield, but that letter was from Vance Dennis. Not sure why they had Campfield's picture with Dennis' words.

    WADDAYATHANK?

25mm only available to the millitary. So that's our hard earned tax dollars going to pay $200 for a practice round. Hate to see what the payload round costs. Just an aside, the Barrett rep didn't seem to be happy to be there. Had a "you can't afford my stuff, so don't ask any questions" attitude. I found this shocking considering my possitive experiences with their upper management, in the past.
  9. They came from the same period as the Lickalotapus (the Bulldikeous Period). The only intact skeletons were found off the coast of Lesbia. Interestingly enough, the remains were found with the oldest known chain wallet and an Indigo Girls CD.

    WADDAYATHANK?

Like one of these? The Barrett rep at the show said the practice rounds where over $200. WTF?
  11. Does that thing come in a spring assisted version?
  12. I'm actually more Libertarian than anything. However, I almost always vote Republican to keep from causing the Ross Perot effect (pulling off enough conservatives to assure a liberal victory).
  13. Now comes the fun part. With one year until "retirement", he has no reason to do what his constituents would want, because he's not affraid of being thrown out of office. But we should be very affraid.
  14. Sound like your rep is preparing you for no action in the legislature. He wants the court case to decide, so he doesn't have to stand for anyting. He knows any appeals will take a long time and get him out of an election year.
  15. Even before they found the weapon they knew it was a Jennings/Bryco from all the live ammo and magazines on the floor from clearing jams between shots.
  16. Looks like the Tennessee delegation to Congress will be all Republican after 2010 except for two (Cohen and Cooper). The two retiring representatives are from very conservative districts and I doubt they'll elect a freshman Democrat.
  17. As Kingfish from Amos and Andy would say "I resent the allegation and the alligator":D
  18. Your's and everyone else's. He definitely saw the writing on the wall and it wasn't scribbled by his eight-year-old in crayon.
  19. Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!! Ding Dong the bastard's Gone.
  20. Is "pontificating" on some word of the week calendar? Everybody's using it on here lately. I know what it means, because I have a decent vocabulary, but sometimes simpler words can be just as effective. This pontification has become ubiquitous.
  21. The truthis that English is a bunch of "foreign" languages fuzed into one. The Britons, the French (the first true king of England was William the Conquerer, from Normandy France), the Angles, the Saxons all had a part to play. Those foreign phrases and words are idioms, which mean they have no good translation to "English". Therefore, they are English because they are part of our common language. Hey, the French have to use the term Le Big Mac.
  22. This thread has declined soo much that it reminds me of one of mine. Why does everyone refer to Mont Eagle as Mont Eagle Mountain? The "Mont" at the front tells you it's a mountain. They don't call Mont Blanc: Mont Blanc Mountain or Mount St. Helens: Mount St. Helens Mountain.
  23. The dark AAA grade walnut. Since I was a kid, I've always loved beautiful firearms with high gloss blueing, engraving, and high grade walnut stocks with checkering (i.e. Beretta Silver Pigeons). Wonder if anyone has ever beautified an AR in a like manner?
  24. I've been toying with the idea of buying a "custom" 1911. I appreciate the fact that Nighthawks are far better than the Kimbers. But in trying to decide between the other brands (Wilson, Baer, Nighthawk, and Brown), I'm having trouble distinguishing between a $2500 pistol and a $3500 pistol (i.e. why are the Nighthawks so much more than the Wilsons). Once you get into the custom lines, the price points quit making sense to me even though I can definitely see the difference from the non custom jobs. Please, someone enlighten me (this post is not the least bit sarcastic, I really want the information so I can make an informed decision).
