Grim Message to Iran __Israeli Nuke Boats watching Iran
tntnixon replied to leroy's topic in General Chat
For the record, this term, to my knowledge, has never been used by an American official before. Also, for the record, I consider myself to be a Christian even before an American and you can not believe in the Christian faith without first believing in Judaism since Christianity depends on Judaism for it's legitimacy. So, I shall stand with the Jews for their right to exist and against anyone who threatens that right. If we believe in our own freedom, we must also believe in freedom for all men. We are a nation that believes that "all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights". Thomas Jefferson didn't write these words to only apply to Brittish colonists living in America. He wrote them to apply to "all men". God bless the Israelis, they deserve nothing less than our full support as individuals and as a nation. -
What I find interesting is, although the data is there, how many "gun people" don't know about it and subsequently carry inferior loads in their weapons. I knew this data existed for a long time but couldn't find a link until recently, I just had a hard copy. I wish I had it earlier because of a discussion I had with one of the mods. Unfortunately, the ammo manufacturers really don't want this data to be readily available because it would hurt the sale of their newest "whiz bang" loads. Of course, this is purely speculation.

Anybody see what a "warm" welcome Rahm Emmanuel got in Jerusalem? Not surpirsing since John Brennon is now referring to Jerusalem as "Al-Quds" (the arabic name for Jerusalem used by those who would like to see Israel destryed). -
While I mostly agree whith you, there are a few things that maybe need to be refined. Here's a rundown of the loads that Marshall and Sanow (who I generally consider to be the best experts on such things)found to be the best in various calibers. Note that some really effective loads get less than 12" penetration, most notably the .357 mag in 125gr (the king of them all). Read and enjoy (this page is also interactive). Stopping Power

I'll send a few dollars Riley's way. Of course I'd like to return the favor to the mf'er that did this. I just don't understand senseless cruelty.

Well I got some dies, Lee .40 Carbide set and the Lyman .38/.357 carbide set (Reloader's Bench didn't have a Lee set that did both .38 sp and .357 mag). The guys at Reloaders bench were awesome!!! After starting to read more about .40 S&W, I'm getting a little nervous. This is the round I shoot the most and I mostly shoot it from my Glock 27 (I also have a M&P .40). This whole "unsupported chamber" thing is making me more than a little paranoid. I guess my question is should I a) abandon the idea of re-loading .40 segregate the loads I fire through my M&P from my Glock c) say "the hell with it" and just keep my loads at the low end d)buy an aftermarket barrel for my Glock or e)trade my Glock for something that has a lower rate of KB's (not likely to happen since this is my favorite carry weapon)

So you can be tried, but because the punishment is lessened by the subsequent act (in this case no punishment whatsoever), then then you would have no punishment?
-
So let's assume that the law goes into effect July 1st ( I know that is not what it says but let's assume it anyway), what would they do to you if you got caught carrying before the effective date? You can't be tried for breaking a law that no longer exists. Just a question I have pondered.

You need a copy of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged".

My current caliber lineup is 30-06, .357 Mag., .38 Sp., .40 S&W, .223(5.56), and 7.62x39 (I don't see much reason to reload 7.62 because I have a ton and I can't see a reason to pay more to re-load than I can buy the cheap mil. surplus stuff for, but I'm willing to be enlightened).

What I meant is that I haven't seen any dies, projectiles, or brass online for this caliber. I just wasn't sure if the supplies existed.

A few days ago, I was talking to my sister-in-law's boyfriend about wanting to learn how to re-load. He told me he had never done it but had thought about doing it years ago. Well, we all go to dinner tonight and he told me he had something for me out in the car. After dinner, we go to the car and he has a full RCBS Rock Chucker Kit out there and told me I could have it. Seems, he got it about 30 years ago and never even took it out of the box and it is in perfect condition. I tell you, Joe is a hell of a guy. So now I have a few questions: 1)What manual should I get? 2)What brand dies should I use? 3)What should I do to give Joe a big ol' thank you (I know he has a Ruger Sp101 in .327 Federal mag but I don't know if this is re-loadable for him)? Any input would be appreciated.

You guys forgot about the fact that the AA-12 is also designed to fire the FRAG-12 rocket powered grenade.

My understanding of Florida gun laws is that Disney has a special exemption built into them. They, unlike Tennessee, don't even allow employers to forbid guns locked in employees cars on the property. But the loophole is for manufacturers of "explosives". This was put in the law specifically for Disney because they make fireworks. It was written in such a way as to not make it sound like it was only for them, but it was. So basically, Disney is the only place in Florida that can ban you from having a weapon, period.

Dude, there is plenty of recovery work to be done here in Nashville, right now. Construction companies are begging for workers. My suggestion is rent a little effeciency like Amerisuites and get to work in the Middle part of the state. May not be what you want but it's better than sitting around all day wondering what to do.

Shouldn't he reach terminal velocity long before he reaches the speed of sound? Something sounds "fishy" about this.

If I'm not mistaken, all casinos are posted. But, and this comes from a relatively paranoid guy, Vegas is probably the safest town you can possibly be in. The security there means business because it's so vital to their livelyhoods. There's probably been more than one would-be-felon that was taken care of in the "old school" way out in the desert. These guys are hard core, but very polite if you're on the right side of socially acceptable.

My wife and I go pretty often and absolutely love it. Although we never gamble, we shop, eat at some of the best restaurants in te world and see the shows. I know you said you're not into shows, but believe me, until you see one of the Cirque shows (Love and Mystere are my favorites), you don't know what you've missed. They are absolutely breathtaking. The shopping is world class but anything but cheap but definately worth the splurge. One tip, go to Freemont Street downtown to the Four Queens hotel. They have a restaurant called Hugo's Cellar (very popular with locals) that is my all time favorite restaurant in the world!!! Make sure you get their house appetizer. Cheaper than any upscale strip restaurants but in a class of it's own. Like someone else posted, never rent a car. It's a waiste of time and money. cabs and the monorail are more convenient and ultimately cheaper. Also, when walking the strip, beware of the optical illusion of being very close to another casino. The casino's are on such a grand scale and the land is so flat that they all look very close, but in reality they may be miles away and a trip on the monorail or in a cab may be in order. Last tip, don't go cheap!!! You and your wife deserve a little pampering from one of the better hotels (Venetian is my favorite but the Wynn and the Belagio are also top notch). Cheap hotels offer few amenities and just seem to dampen the whole Vegas experience. Also, even though Caesar's Palace is a great place to hang out, do not stay there. They have a tendency to nickle and dime you more than just about any other hotel and it is definately not worth it!!!!

He said how he got the names in one of his editorials. I was already pissed but somehow missed this thread until tonight. I am a very consistent man. I hold all people, including myself, to the same standards. I don't hold one set of rules for liberals and one set for conservatives. Unfortunately, too many people seem to have many double standards, when it suits their own desires. Sorry if my consistency offends you but as one of my college philosophy professors used to say "Consistency is the hallmark of ordered thought". -

Here we have a bunch of folks who were pissed about the Tennessean getting our names and addresses but are quite happy tha Bob Pope got it? Where's the outrage? I don't want anyone to have that information for good or for evil. The fact that a "pro-gun" guy did this makes me even angrier. He, of all people, should have known better. Rant over!! -
Did he ask you for "tree-fitty"?

After reading many news stories about the liberal victories of the last year, I started to wonder about Conservative victories. Have there actually been any? Considering that the definition of "conservative" is one that is slow to change or "traditional", I set 1791 as my start date considering that it is the date of our Constitution. Are there any aspects of our political lives that still function the way they functioned in 1791? Are there any Constitutional Amendments that are still interpretted in the same way that our founding fathers envisioned? I simply can't think of one, which is a rather depressing thought to say the very least. We have allowed the "progessives" to completely shape the debate over the last 200 years and have eroded our freedoms in the process. Our "conservative" leaders have brought us back half freedoms and claimed victory but have never actually gotten us back to where we started. Although I consider myself to be very educated, I still have an eighth grade civics student's view of our Constitution. I see it through the eyes of the original writers and not of the Harvard law professor. I see the words and actually believe them without trying to figure out a way around them. Does this make me a radical?

I absolutely agree with this sentiment. Although I've been very blessed financially, I don't agree that one should have to pay a "poll tax" in order to exercise one's Constitutional rights. I don't have to pay the government to vote, write a newspaper article, speak in public or pray, but I've got to pay them for the right to keep and bear arms. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
