  1. This line of thinking is what has ultimately cost us many of our freedoms. If they pass an ordinance tomorrow stating that is now a crime not to kill your first born child, will you do it in order not to be a criminal? No, because it is wrong. The same with the Chicago gun ban. It spits in the face of our Constitution the same way that killing your first born would. However, we have become gradually accustomed to losing our firearms rights, so we accept it. At some point, our government could gradually bring us to accept to other just as China has. Remember, taking away rights doesn't happen all at once, it goes in baby steps.
  2. What ever happened to the guy who was giving away free handguns to Chicago residents? It was making the news at the time, but just seemed to die.

    Bonnaroo

This is the first year I haven't worked Bonnaroo weekend. I don't miss the overdoses and the "hey man, watch this" patients we get every year. I also get about 20 calls a day that go like this : "Hey man, do you got my buddy up there. He has a green mohawk, fully sleeved arms and goes by the name of Mudpuppy" My response is, "You'll have to be more specific. I got 10 guys just like that".
  4. A good movie doesn't have to make you feel good. The fact that it makes you "feel" at all is what makes it great. Deliverance definately does that. It is on my top movies of all time list. As for Angelina Jolie, I'd rather f*** a carp, they look very similar but a carp is cleaner and has more sanity.
  5. here's a great link from Midway USA http://www.midwayusa.com/midwayusa/Applications/TechnicalNotes/application_pages/knife_steel_and_handle_material_chart.htm
  6. Exactly, but once you get past that first set of doors, you are technically already in the restaurant since they allow people to drink in that area while waiting on a table. The hostess opened the second set of doors for my wife and the open door kept her from seeing it because the frame covered it up. BTW, is it only the Cool Springs location that posted. I don't recall ever seeing one at the White Bridge Road or West End locations. Of course, if they are posted in a likewise manner, I may have missed it.
  7. No, it was off to the side, and only on the inside, so, if it is a legal posting, you would have been made a criminal before you would even be able to see it.
  8. So I had to go to Columbia to a funeral today with my wife. After we left, she wanted to go to J. Alexanders in Cool Springs. They are definately not posted on the outside of the building, so we enter. After getting inside there is a small sign that is on parchment paper stating that they ban guns in their establishment, but the wording is definitely not legal. Had I been by myself, I would have walked out immediately. However, my wife did not see it and was already being escorted to the table by the hostess. While eating, I told my wife that we would not be coming back and she agreed. Now here's the kicker, although obviously not worded correctly, there is a "Ghostbuster" sign in the background that is barely visible and would not be visible at all if the light was hitting it just right, as it was when we entered. Is this a legal post or not? Seems like they are at least challenging to outer limits of the law.
  9. Agree. The Nemesis is great (the inside is slick while the ouside is tacky, meaning that drawing is easy and leaves the holster in the pocket). I keep my J-frame in it in one pocket with a couple loaded Bianchi Speed strips in the other.
  10. I said that about every gun I have sold (I miss them all except my Colt Defender, what a POS).That being said: 1) Glock 27 (I may wear this one out and need to replace it,but I'll always have one) 2) S&W M&P340 (the ultimate pocket carry J-frame at 13.2 oz. but I'll probably never carry with full .357 mag loads)
  11. Gonna meet some friends at the local hibachi grill. Will have a Ketel One dirty martini in the bar before being seated then Asahi beer with dinner.
  12. Just called the Mammoth Park and they said they do indeed have a 1000yd range that can be booked. I'll PM you with the specifics.
  13. That's the one. Some of it is still under construction, but a patient of mine, said they're shooting the big boys up there. He also said that some of the military contractors test fire the full autos there and will occassionally let people from the public do some of the shooting (something about how many rounds each military weapon must be fired before being put into service). I would give them a call.
  14. After an exhaustive search, I can find no provisions of either the federal or state law that considers firearms as a occupational safety concern. Actually, this was brought up before in federal court and OSHA refused to address firearm concerns at all.
  15. I just learned that the Rock Island Shooting Center in southern KY, has a 1000 yd rage that is open to the public. It's supposed to be a world class facility and not too far north of the TN/KY line.
  16. After looking at the list, it is indeed the same people who want felons to vote. So they want felons to vote, but honest citizens should not have the right to protect themselves against said felons.
  17. Up at 4:30. Took out dogs, fed dogs, medicated dogs, read the Pravda on the Cumberland, got on TGO, took wife's car to have tires balance, rotated, oil change and allignment, went to Lowes to drop a couple hundred bucks (nothing for me), picked car up, washed car, ate breakfast, and now awaiting my lovely bride's list o'chores. Question:Why can't I just wake up some Saturday and go shooting or fishing? Answer: Cuz I'm totally PW'd
  18. I think most of the guys on this thread would lose their permits if they went out tonight!!!!
  19. I think the Speaker of the House and the Speaker of the Senate both have to sign it after the vote before it becomes law.
  20. Probably the same one's who want felons to be able to vote!!
  21. How 'bout we turn it into a big prison ala "Escape From New York"
